@@pinobluevogel6458 I can't compare the medieval Town Square or Tuxedo Cat as I don't have either. I have the original Medieval Market Village set, so wasn't;t fussed about getting the new set, and the Tuxedo Cat.... well... erm.... I'm REALLY not fond of cats !!!! But that's the beauty of Lego, there's so many different theme's to choose from, but I;m definitely a LEGO City fan !
@@MinifigJez Yea that is nice to see, I have a lot of medieval channels that I follow on the regular, so having something great for city is fun. I do like to say that the Medieval Town Square is an amazing set, not perfect, but certainly a 9/10. Especially the buildings are really well made. I also love the original set that you mentioned, it is not exactly the same, but I would have certainly bought that one if I was able to. And let the cats stick with the cat people, so they don't bother you or anyone else :)

I was just thinking after building this really sturdy set how I was going to modularise it but like you I'd decided to keep the whole facade as it is and was just going to put maybe stairs and a back on it. What you have done here is brilliant especially creating another room. I might just have to get another set to copy yours. There are double rewards on at the moment so why not! And maybe just have a simple rear garden with a raised flowerbed and a patio area for a table and chairs for when the sun moves round to the back. (I'm thinking UK houses here where it isn't warm enough in the evenings, even in summer, for a dip in the pool 😂).

That is some pretty quick alteration for quite a nice result. This set never really clicked for me, as I'm more into slightly less modern style architecture, but this completes the look that the set is trying to achieve for sure. Hopefully we don't have to wait too long for part 2, as I'm really curious as to how you mean to solve it in the simple, yet elegant way you used with the rest of the build. Thanks for posting!

It looks great... Just a few little notes. One, there would only be one chandelier. Two, there are two doors to the study right next to each other , you can make one of those a wall and add more detail inside that room. Thirdly, I don't think that you would have mirrored bedrooms.They would be slightly different and I would change the shower area and the bed color. And as far as the garden area I think I would make it more Of a sitting area for friends to gather because if you own a beach house you will entertain people often. Or because there is no obvious entrance maybe make a walkway to create a main entrance.

Yes, I don't often but Creator sets, but recently they've made some great ones... this, the Land Rover Defender and the Cozy House have been my recent favourites.

what u could have done instead of a guest room the same as the main master room with big bed n walk in shower was have just the master room add a huge tv n a clothes drawer, a couch n a toilet but over all u did a awesome modification with 2 lego sets of the modern house mod

The only problem is that there’s a lot of structure built into the bed to hold the upside down onside wall on. it would take a fair bit of unlocking to build that into something else to hold it together. in any case, in this w=version I wanted the in if it’s to be able to invite friends over to stay !!! - Thanks for commenting though, maybe in the future I’ll do an update video with an alternate bedroom layout.

I dont have the money to buy even just one of these sets so i settled on making it in Minecraft and using the two alternative builds as inspiration for finishing it off, havent quite got there yet but i like the idea :) Even just mirroring it did a great job of making it look finished :) One thing i would say is to only keep one of the chandeliers :)

I know what you mean, but when modifying sets my main focus is on the outside, and not the interior, as once in a Lego city the inside will probably never get seen ever again!! Also, as the original set didn't have any stairs, it would have meant a LOT of extra pieces from outside the two donor sets to add in a staircase. - Thanks for the comment, and I'm glad you at least liked the outside. ;)
My favorite LEGO houses that I own and built. Where the Simpsons home and the Ghostbusters Firehouse sets. I love all the interior details and design. But my only issue I have is with the GB firehouse. The minifig scale Ecto 1 set doesn't fit all the way inside. Plus ever since I made the longer upgraded Ecto 1 moc. It definitely doesn't fit now. Personally the first floor of the Firehouse set isn't long &or high enough, for the car to fit in accurately. Just wondering if you own the set. And if so could experiment with it like you've done with your other LEGO house sets please. My plan would be to buy another firehouse set. In order to make the first floor area both longer and a bit higher. Hell with all those extra pieces left over. I could probably make the basement area too.
A 2nd Firehouse set would cost a LOT as it was £280 new and since it retired, it's now over £400! - I do have the set, but it's in storage at teh moment. I seem to remember that I managed to fit teh Ecto 1 inside, but just moving some of the interior details around. there were lots of cardboard boxes on the floor, which herein teh way, and I though once I moved all those, it then fitted. (Sorry I don't remember as it was a few years ago) or I might have moved teh desk at teh back slightly.
@@MinifigJezappreciate your response thx. 🙏🏾 yeah I remember when I first got the set. I too tried moving the boxes. Then the desks in the office area. But I didn't like the way it looked. The Ecto was way too close. When I watched the first film again. There was a long walk way from the entrance to the front desk. That whole space was long and wide enough to fit two Ecto 1's in it. I know buying another set would cost. I just really want the set in my collection, to be as accurate to it's source material as possible.

This is actually filmed and explained well enough (at least for me) to be able to follow and build along. I think it is a far more fun approach to altering existing Lego sets than releasing instructions. For a whole custom built design though, that's another story :)
I know a lot of people make AMAZING interiors, but I normally don;t bother too much with them, unless they are VERY visible. When it goes into my LEGO City (WHEN I eventually build it) I may do some updates then, but of rnow I'm concentrating on the outside. - Thanks for commenting.
Nearly all the pieces I used came from the original sets. The only extra parts I used were to make the wall between the two bedrooms (I showed teh jumper plates and tiles in teh video, and th rest were just white bricks) And I used a few accessories, like the wine bottle and glass in the kitchen, and the gold cup and china bowl on top of the book case. - There's nothing else to show I'm afraid.
Hi, the House looks good now I like the Idee to make „one“ House of it. The only Point is you had to bought it twice. But what should I say. I bought some LEGO Blacktron Sets more then 4 times😂……... (or 12 times)
Yes, I had to get it twice, but it was actually cheaper and a lot less work than trying to buy all the separate parts, with the extra postage, from lots of different Bricklink sellers!!!! And it was WELL WORTH IT! - the new House is HUGE and looks amazing.
The original set didn't have either, so my MOD doesn't ! But then... the original set didn't have a back wall to the house, so at least the minifigs are now warm at night. One of the residents also conveniently invented the teleport bracelet*, so they can easily pop upstairs to bed without having to walk. (*see Blakes 7 - 1978-1981)
Yes, I agree. I'm generally more concerned about the outside of my buildings than the inside, as they never get seen. but no bathroom is a bit of a drawback for the poor minifigs!
Because it only comes out on August 1st in America, most of the rest of the world got it on 1st June, and I'm from the UK. - Sorry that you have to wait until August to get it.

You did a great job. The only suggestion is perhaps to get rid of one of the chandeliers as two look a bit strange.

My favorite LEGO houses that I own and built. Where the Simpsons home and the Ghostbusters Firehouse sets.
I love all the interior details and design. But my only issue I have is with the GB firehouse. The minifig scale Ecto 1 set doesn't fit all the way inside. Plus ever since I made the longer upgraded Ecto 1 moc. It definitely doesn't fit now.
Personally the first floor of the Firehouse set isn't long &or high enough, for the car to fit in accurately. Just wondering if you own the set. And if so could experiment with it like you've done with your other LEGO house sets please.
My plan would be to buy another firehouse set. In order to make the first floor area both longer and a bit higher. Hell with all those extra pieces left over. I could probably make the basement area too.
A 2nd Firehouse set would cost a LOT as it was £280 new and since it retired, it's now over £400! - I do have the set, but it's in storage at teh moment. I seem to remember that I managed to fit teh Ecto 1 inside, but just moving some of the interior details around. there were lots of cardboard boxes on the floor, which herein teh way, and I though once I moved all those, it then fitted. (Sorry I don't remember as it was a few years ago) or I might have moved teh desk at teh back slightly.

yeah I remember when I first got the set. I too tried moving the boxes. Then the desks in the office area. But I didn't like the way it looked. The Ecto was way too close. When I watched the first film again. There was a long walk way from the entrance to the front desk. That whole space was long and wide enough to fit two Ecto 1's in it.
I know buying another set would cost. I just really want the set in my collection, to be as accurate to it's source material as possible.

1) yes, this will definitely go in my LEGO City (WHEN I get round to building it)
2) I'm afraid not, the amount of time it would take to build both the houses, and then make instructions would just be too long, but...
That's why I try to make such detailed videos, so that if anyone ever buys the set, they should be able to follow what I did and make something similar themselves.

This is actually filmed and explained well enough (at least for me) to be able to follow and build along. I think it is a far more fun approach to altering existing Lego sets than releasing instructions. For a whole custom built design though, that's another story :)

Also there's no sink in the kitchen and both bathrooms as well as toilets! Would you consider adding them and giving us an update?
I know a lot of people make AMAZING interiors, but I normally don;t bother too much with them, unless they are VERY visible. When it goes into my LEGO City (WHEN I eventually build it) I may do some updates then, but of rnow I'm concentrating on the outside. - Thanks for commenting.

In part 2 show all the pieces you used for the house
Nearly all the pieces I used came from the original sets.
The only extra parts I used were to make the wall between the two bedrooms (I showed teh jumper plates and tiles in teh video, and th rest were just white bricks) And I used a few accessories, like the wine bottle and glass in the kitchen, and the gold cup and china bowl on top of the book case. - There's nothing else to show I'm afraid.

Yes it does. When I eventually make my LEGO City, it will get put on a MILS plate, to fit in with all my Modulars.
Hi, the House looks good now I like the Idee to make „one“ House of it. The only Point is you had to bought it twice. But what should I say. I bought some LEGO Blacktron Sets more then 4 times😂……... (or 12 times)
Yes, I had to get it twice, but it was actually cheaper and a lot less work than trying to buy all the separate parts, with the extra postage, from lots of different Bricklink sellers!!!!
And it was WELL WORTH IT! - the new House is HUGE and looks amazing.
The people that live there must have a 10x studs red brick or something to afford that wonderful house
I think they bought a lot of Cafe Corner sets in 2007.
Kept them in their sealed boxes.
Then sold them all to make their millions !!!

So as far we know humans can't fly where's the stairs ?? No Television set ??
The original set didn't have either, so my MOD doesn't !
But then... the original set didn't have a back wall to the house, so at least the minifigs are now warm at night. One of the residents also conveniently invented the teleport bracelet*, so they can easily pop upstairs to bed without having to walk.

Yes, I agree.
I'm generally more concerned about the outside of my buildings than the inside, as they never get seen.
but no bathroom is a bit of a drawback for the poor minifigs!

Because it only comes out on August 1st in America, most of the rest of the world got it on 1st June, and I'm from the UK. - Sorry that you have to wait until August to get it.
