I ended up using the old names for three characters, due to my attachment to them. Hope you don't mind much :/
Also, one of the characters has been retconned and overhauled completely. Try to guess who it is :p
I roll my eyes at some localization names (find and fire the one who came up with such a "masterpiece" as "Bigg Building"), but I don't really like this decision either. It breaks the continuity a bit due to the constant mixing of fan and official names, imo. Not to mention many people who have joined the fandom recently might be confused at first seeing that the characters have a completely different names. Of course, these are your videos and your decisions, which almost everyone will support one way or another, but I'm not a big fan of such cherry picking.
I'm either in favor of full use of official names, or full use of fan names.

By the way, how it happens is also somewhat realistic. Formal plea bargains in Japan didn't exist until long after AAI2 was released, but there were "informal" bargains.

Honestly, Von Karma was extremely clever here. His record wouldn't be affected if the case doesn’t reach the court. He'd just be the man who was fooled by a faulty police investigation into accusing an innocent man. His record as the "Perfect Prosecutor" wouldn't be at any risk. Specially without him having to rely entirely on Blaise.

Honestly, such a great idea for an AU. I always thought that Manfred is too cartoonishly evil and he doen't really have any layers of deapth, so this video makes me appreciate his character much more. Thank you for a great job, Debastian!

Going to make a prediction:
We still get a DL-6 incident, but it'll be our lighter-toting Chief Prosecutor of many names who's shooting into that elevator instead of von Karma.
Eustace and Miles become siblings then!?
That would mean that von Karma did lose his perfect record for some reason. And from what we see in the video so far, his new plan has guaranteed its safety for now ;)
If Blaise was the murderer of the DL-6 case in the alternate timeline then I could see him framing Manfred as the culprit.
Especially if he was in the elevator with Gregory when the earthquake happened instead of Robert Hammond.
Manfred’s perfect record would be destroyed along with his career as a legendary genius prosecutor.
However for the chief prosecutor it would be killing two birds with one stone.

Y’know if Von Karma didn’t care about his prefect record and wasn’t being held ‘hostage’ by Blaise, things would’ve gone much differently. Which makes series much more stagnating for not keeping tabs. If this was an ongoing story back and forth like this and Lana’s Parole, I’d invest more into the games themselves.
I want this “no spoilers” rule dropped Capcom, or at least changed.
They'd have their hands tied on this one no matter what because AA1 had Manfred be undefeated for 40 years. A case in the flashback time period can't end with von Karma losing by definition.
At best you end up doing a 3-4 where the case gets called off.

It's actually Adachi. I decided to retcon Lacer out of the story and replace him with Adachi, as his backstory ties well here (in Persona4 he says he supposedly did something "stupid' which is why he got sent to Inaba. Well here we see what he did :p)

@debastiansebeste His natural genius made him a great prosecutor. Unfortunately, to maintain a record such as his, it's not enough. Humans are complex creatures, and it's absolutely impossible the police managed to only accuse guilty people. I suppose that he started to *cheat* when the record and his reputation went to his head.

Does that mean with this cooperation that DL-6 never happens? Which could be very interesting however Manfred fired Adachi which could be a final nail in the coffin for him tragically.
It could lead to a timeline where Manfred died instead of Gregory and his murder would end up being an unsolved case until the events in Persona 4 happen and the case is solved.
I could easily see it happening and it would be interesting to see a P4 and Ace Attorney

Well, according to this lore, as Manfred said, Adachi would simply get transferred (not fired, since Manfred won't force Tangaroa's confession), so Adachi is simply sent to Inaba as a result (and Persona 4 fans know what happens next xF)

You mean the dl-6 tragedy right ? The is-7 tragedy happened beforehand (except if you speak of Jeffrey's Master's indictment after having been proven innocent)
@@Banito13 I see the is-7 tragedy as how a simple case of murder becomes this mess because of the blatant corruption and interference of the justice authorities (which both Von Karma and Excelsius are the main cause) that ends with the lives of almost everyone involved ruined (specially an innocent man getting 20 years of jail unfairly) and of course causing the Dl-6 and all of his consequences and repercussions.
In this video we are presented with an alternative outcome were Von Karma doesn't employ the fake evidence provided by Excelsius and instead gets a deal with Gregory. Even if he is still very corrupt, in this escenary he essentially is conducting the investigation in an appropriate way, so is very probable that the truth will be discovered and that everyone gets what they want (Von Karma maintaining his record secured, Gregory gets Samson free, Judy maintaining his father, etc) resolving the case in normal AA fashion and avoiding the dl-6 incident and all that come with it. Only the disappearing of Bronco and Simeon would still happen in this timeline.

I had been intending to tie the lores of Ace Attorney and Persona 4 more for quite a while now, and I felt the quite inexistent placeholder of a character known as "Rip Lacer" would be the most optimal to be replaced by Adachi storywise xD
@debastiansebeste This was a very good implementation imo. He really fits into the role and his animations were perfect for the scene with Manfred.
Incidentally, my opinions have taken a bit more shape now and I was finally able to rank his names (albeit I dislike none of them):

(Even as someone who isn't exactly a Persona fan so much as just someone who knows things about the series, thinking of Adachi as the detective in IS-7 is quite exciting. ❤)

Well, the plea bargain proposed by manfred von karma literally benefits the defense in every possible way, gregory gets information to prove his client's innocence and wont even need to go to trial over it.

I believe this investigation actually took place over the course of 2 days, because I vividly remember that Gregory didn't discover that the body was never found after he spoke with Samson about his disease and when he had white hair.
Not a big detail but just wanted to mention it! Still incredible work, gave it a like!
I do remember that. Is something in the video contradicting the 2 day duration? (If it's any help, after Gregory and Manfred's introduction, the vid skips to day 2. Adachi's dialogue is from day 0, from before Gregory had arrived at the crime scene)

Funny thing I didn't notice until after watching the video was a third fantranslation name (was already aware of Raymond and Blaise keeping theirs lol) being kept - namely Dane Gustavia's lmao
Funny because the only names I honestly genuinely prefered over the official names are all involved with the IS-7 incident (I got used to the rest lol)
Normally I was supposed to keep only Blaise and Ray. But as I was writing this video, every time Gregory said "Mr. Gusto" I cringed and went no, just no xD
This video resulted in a better life for both Edgeworth and Von Karma families... and resulted in one cool prosecutor being mad for being replaced in the outro. :D

Oh I don’t mind you keeping some of the fan-made translation names, don’t worry. Anyways, I can imagine it must have been difficult to think of a way that old Manny would reconsider his stance on this case, but this definitely felt the most natural considering his shaky relationship with Blaise. Also, I’d like to point out how absolutely surreal it feels to see Gregory Edgeworth and Manfred Von Karma cooperating to find the truth and standing side by side. It feels like this video takes place in the Twilight Zone. Wonder if this will get a second part?

Hey Debastian Sebeste, I think I have a cool Idea for you to make a video of if you ever put it on your to do list whether it is soon or eventually. I think I would like to see confrontations of the victim and their murderers, like inmagine if for example Frank Sahwit murdering Cindy Stone since it is probably the easiest one since it is the first case and simplest one of the entire series as a test or sample or something.
Like Larry Butz could go to Cindy Stone's apartment and he is like
Larry Butz: "Cindy are you here? Please don't leave me, I know we haven't spoken in months if not years, but I want you to know that I still love you, please come home to me soon again my Cindy-Windy."
Larry Butz is there for a while but eventually she never comes so he gives up and leaves. Frank Sahwit seeing Larry Butz leaving thinks that the apartment is empty is like
Frank Sahwit: Now that the man is out of his apartment I can help myself to the valuables in it.
Frank Sahwit helps himself in to loot the place, while he is getting the things to either take back with him for his home or to sell eventually Cindy Stone gets back from her vacation from Paris, or New York depending on if the game is in America or Japan, and she is like
Cindy Stone: "Who are you and what are you doing in my apartment?"
Frank Sahwit is like startled and he is like
Frank Sahwit: "ACKKKKKKKKKKK!"
Frank Sahwit thinking internally: "This Woman is the one who lives in this apartment? I can't get caught doing this burglarizing and looting thing now after I have been careful for so many years."
And well we all know what happens after that Frank Sahwit brings the Thinker Clock onto Cindy Stone's head causing her to die of blood loss due to blunt force trauma. That could be an interested video to see written and animated including him bringing the thinker down on Cindy STone's Head. If it goes well, maybe you could do the conversation and confrontations between Jack Hammer and Dee Vasquez before she pushed him in the steel samurai costume onto the spike fence at Global Studios studio number 2 trailer or Yanni Yogi and Robert Hammond inside Yanni Yogi's house and he asks Robert Hammond if he remembers who he is and if Robert Hammond does or doesn't, then Yanni Yogi can tell him his name and also tell him how he ruined his life and Robert Hammond pleads for his life but Yanni Yogi says you should have not ruined my life with the insanity plea but because you did, now you die. And he shoots Robert Hammond in the chest killing the corrupt lawyer years before the dark age of the law.
Like what did you think about that suggestion? Do you think it might be a cool project for you to do an unknown time in the future? If those work I wonder how other victim and murderer confrontation videos could possible work too.
