Awesome video! Thanks for the great info. I was planning on doing this to my ZL1 before taking it to the track this summer, and now I know how to do it on my own.
You’re welcome. All the info I’ve been reading says that OEM fluid is best for the diff so there isn’t issues down the road. Changing often is key. Thanks for watching and have fun at the track
Great work. As usual. For viewers any synthetic 75w90 that does not have The Slip axle additive can be added. Pour the 4oz first while refilling. AC Delco 88900330 chemical number 10-4003. Canadian part number is 992694
hello everyone. I just wanted to compare the number on the differential ..... but I can't do anything with this to see which oil I have to use? My zl1 is built in 07/2015 and the number on the differential is 40088187 REV C ??
I’m not sure what you’re asking. I think spellcheck may have put some words in there you didn’t mean. If your battery light is flashing I would check the alternator
Might depend on the year and options for the rear end. Call the dealer with the last 8 #'s of the VIN. Your might need LS additive and a different oil. I could probably tell you if you give me all the numbers off your diff.
I'll figure it out can you do a video on the fuse pull i just found out yesterday I dont know if its actually a thing or not id like to get your opinion Ion it

Looks simple enough I will change my own next time!
Check your dealer to verify what fluid yours will need. Depends on model.
@@fasnuf I have a 15 ZL1, didn’t realize it was that simple
Great video as always!
Thank you. Hope it helps
My friend checked the battery it's good and checked the alteraner and that's fine help I am a woman by myself
SOrry for the late response, I'm not getting notified. Did you get this figured out?

Was your differential howling on slow turns?
Not at all. I just thought the mileage was high that it was time to change it. Oil sample came back normal

if its the original reared and it's a real cast iron diff with limited slip, use the oil from the video.
@@fasnuf ok thanks for the quick answer 🙂👍

I just Googled it and found an online retailer. I can’t remember who it was but all 5 volumes were over $500.
Why would my ca skip engine light flashing when I step on it. battery flashes of and on once in awhile

Did you have to drain it and fill it 3 times like the service bulletin says? Or just once?
