I have a book by E.D. Hirsh in which he decries the state of cultural literacy in the U.S. in 1983. While many of his ideas are controversial, I find it impossible to argue the notion that a common culture increases understanding. I never watched this show when I was a kid, mostly because I was 4 when it first started, and Bugs Bunny was more entertaining. Thinking about my own cultural literacy, I thought about this show. So thanks, MBK1997, you've done me a service, and I appreciate it.
The Monarch BBQ grill was made in the town where I live. THe factory is no longer in busness, and that grill was problably one of the last grills that the manufactured because they closed their doors shortly after this was taped. They also made Stoves, (both gas and electric) Refridgerators, and freezers.
"Jack I can name that tune in 5 notes" "Susan I can name that tune in 4 notes" "Jack I can name that tune in 3 notes" "Susan I can name that tune in 2 notes" "Jack you're full of crap" "Susan try me bitch...in fact don't even play the damn song!" jajajajajajajajaja
As a musician, we are trained to hear all the parts to a song (other people's and ours). You can tell this was "live" music - occasionally, parts were missing. I would notice it and wonder where the guy was that day lol
The "musical error" Jack's first time on the show (against Sherry Fultz) was in the first Bid-A-Note clue when the pianist misplayed some notes on The Alfred Hitchcock Theme and Jack missed it.
Jim Lange sure knows how to count money, but he didn't do that on Bullseye which is understandable, but also, there are others who knows how to count money: Tom Kennedy, Jack Barry, Bill Cullen, Jim Perry, Chuck Woolery, Wink Martindale, Jim Peck, Bob Eubanks, Bill Rafferty, Bob Barker, Drew Carey, Monty Hall, Geoff Edwards, Bert Convy
I just love it when you know the opening is stock from an earlier episode.

Green Green was used in a super mario game I think It is super mario world
"Sunshine Superman" was the only song I could recognize in the Melody Roulette. And neither contestant buzzed in. Heh.
Green Green? Don’t you mean SMW Athletic theme?
WHAT WAS THE BAND SINGING @ 3:35?
Thomas Game Docs brought me here.
The "musical error" Jack's first time on the show (against Sherry Fultz) was in the first Bid-A-Note clue when the pianist misplayed some notes on The Alfred Hitchcock Theme and Jack missed it.

Do have any $100K Tournaments of this show in better quality than what has already been posted?
Why is Susan looking directly at the wheel, but Jack is looking straight ahead?

16:25 - LOL unexpected, but funny!
8.50...Jim, was that joke really necessary? (BUZZ!)
8:50 was this nessessary (buzzz)
This version of the show found some of the most obnoxious contestants possible. I was hoping she'd fail.
Take a drink every time Jim mispronounces “Jenean”
Mario?
I’d take Lange’s version of NTT any day over the god-awful Krakowski version
I couldn't agree more.
This must be from 1985, cause they only spun the wheel once.
9 second keft that has to be the fastest.
Dan Barker Actually the fastest was Joe Coffey 13 seconds left.
