I watched Name that tune back in 1984 when I was 8 years old and $100,000 was a whole a lot more money than it is today and could pay for four years of college back in the 1980's.

The $100K in the 70s Name that Tune was all cash, but paid out $10K a year for 10 years, so the contestants in this SUper tournament by this point had won between $40K-$90K of the $100K(the $100K Name that Tune was in syndication from 1976-81, the first two years of the 70s syndicated Name that Tune didn't have a $100K top prize)

If they did that show today, the host (in this case, Matt Iseman) would say “Time is up and the game is over! (Contestant’s name), YOU’VE DONE IT!!!!!!!!!!! YOU’VE DONE IT!!!!!!!!!!!! YOU’VE DONE IT!!!!!!!!!!!! YOU JUST WON $1,000,000 IN 💵 AND PRIZES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I’d prefer the same format as the 1984 version (Melody Roulette, Tune Topics, Bid-A-Note and Golden Medley Showdown, but with a 64-person tournament (with prizes awarded after every game instead of points and cash awards of $10,000 in the first round and in the Round of 32, $25,000 in the Round of 16, $50,000 in the quarterfinals, $100,000 in the semifinals and the grand prize of $1,000,000 in the finals), Matt Iseman as host, Todd Newton as announcer and Lacey Sturm as conductor of the 14-piece band (three trumpeters, three trombone players, three woodwind players, one pianist/keyboardist/synthesizer player/organist, two guitarists (one electric, one electric and acoustic), one bass guitarist and one drummer)!
In addition, the opening spiel would go like this: “From Hollywood, the musical capital of the world, 64 contestants will do battle, but only one of them will win the biggest grand prize in television history: $1,000,000 in cash and prizes... ON THE ALL-NEW $1,000,000 NAME... THAT... TUNE!!!!!!!!! And now, here’s our musical maestro... MATT ISEMAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
