  • I am out in local marshes doing wildlife photography. This time, I am using my camouflage photography hide, so I get a better chance at photographing shy birds and other animals. Could a morning with lots of fog turn into a successful day? Watch the video and find out!
Animals seen: Common buzzard (Buteo buteo), Eurasian Marsh-Harrier (Circus aeruginosus), Common kestrel (Falco tinnunculus), Roe deer (Capreolus capreolus), Hen harrier (Circus cyaneus)

I love the audio on this. Everything is just at the right levels and hearing all the crispness of the bird calls is great. I really enjoyed this! I can't wait to see and hear more of your work.

@@PatrikInNature I can imagine. Your setup for recording animal sounds is really amazing. Are you using those professionally, or is that more of a citizen science and hobby pursuit?
Forgive my ignorance of any of the economics of this sort of wildlife photography and recording.
I'd love to hear a long segment of those nature sounds. I even enjoy listening to my half-assed USB recordings of local fauna, I think yours would be next level. But I also wouldn't dream of asking for an artist's bread and butter for free.

Thanks, I am using it semi-professionally, as I am also working on other video production projects (it's my passion as well as a source of income). So yeah, when I am buying gear, I always try to choose pieces of equipment that will support all or most of my needs, professional and personal.
Again, thank you for your kind comment. You can actually listen to some of my ambience recordings on my other channel (I use it as my personal portfolio). Just search "Patrik Arh" and look for the "Nature" playlist.

Hi again Patrick, would love to learn more about your audio set up. Had no idea that this was even a thing wildlife filmmakers did! Fantastic to also see that in just the last few minutes your subscription number has jumped from 75 to 82! 🇦🇺🐨

I will definitely make a video going into detail on this topic. But to explain it shortly... I am using a droprig (recorder, power bank, microphones) that I leave outside in a location, where there is as little noise pollution as possible. I set it to record and then leave it there for as long as the power bank has charge (or until the rain is forecasted). I get tens of hours of sound that I need to process and listen through and in the end, I am left with a nature ambience that is not disturbed by my presence (or is recorded during the night, while I sleep). And I get to use these sounds for my videos.
My other setup is Audio-Technica or Sennheiser shotgun microphone with Rode wind protection going into Zoom F3 or H8. I use that for recording specific sounds with less ambient sound.
All the equipment that I use is also in the video description.
Please let me know if I answered your question :)

Hi, Patrik! I found your channel through a Mossy Earth video and you've just gained a subscriber! I've only watched this one video so far but it's very lovely, so I'm going to watch more. I have a question: What do you do with those audio recordings of ambient nature?

    • @PatrikInNature
      @PatrikInNature  ปีที่แล้ว +1

Awesome! Thank you, and welcome here :D
I post my ambient recordings on TH-cam, and use them in my videos on this channel. Most of the locations I visit are rich with flora and fauna, so the ambience is very immersive and calming, but it is almost impossible to record that while I am present. Microphones would pick up all the sounds I make, and my presence would also scare the animals, resulting in a less pristine recordings. That is why I record the sounds separatelly and then use them as a background in my videos - they always get recorded in the same location, so they represent the environment, just not at the same time.

  • @Kram1032

    That was lovely!
Haven't seen the other two videos yet but imo you should turn down the music just a tiny notch. It's just a little bit difficult to hear you over it.
Fantastic imagery though. Are some of the field recordings you take available to listen to somewhere?
