    Love your attitude Kim, couldn't agree more. That beach was gorgeous, the light, the people the whole package. Love to see you shooting more handheld too, I think it frees you mentally as well as the physical. Gorgeous images as usual. Thank you

    Thank you Kim. So many times we give up before the miracle. Ive been an amateur for over 30 years and its finally sticking , just to wait a little bit longer and if i get too frustrated walk away breath and try again. Many thanks again and keep up the brilliant work.

    Great advice! So good to get out no matter what. Even when your gear frustrates you it’s still worth it!

    Those beach and cloud images were amazing Kim! I sometimes find myself just looking up at cloud formations which I think is quite relaxing. Well done, Kim!

    Enjoyed the video as usual Kim.
    How annoying missing the sunset but even more annoying looking for the wind muffler for your mike, but i think it is more important to find your equipment.
    Still you managed to get some really nice image's.

    Good 👍
    Often when the sun has gone it’s the clouds that have incredible colors. It’s even better than sunsets and it lasts very little time.
    So sorry for the dusts on your sensor. Crazy technology that is soooo fragile.
    The Z9 has this curtain that seems to be interesting for instance
    Otherwise what I tend to do is one camera - one lens…
    If I want a second lens, I’ll use a second camera if I’m in a risky dusty place

    Awesome shots! Looks like that beach was too rocky and the weather was too cool for "Earthing" this trip. Thanks for bringing us along!

    Thanks again Kim for sharing your experience at the coast....yes a great time of day to be taking in the surrounds for great results....I always the different cloud colours & formations to photograph as they can change so quickly & you can capture many pics... cheers from Australia 😀❤️

    Too funny Kim , I lost my dead cat in the latest video, found it later... now I will go back to your video.

    Dust or dirt on sensors is one of the most annoying things about working out in the field. I use 2 cameras one for wildlife with tele photo Z9, other Z7 with the 24mm for landscapes.

    Hello Kim, love your channel and hope I can get mine to your level one day. As to your problem with your Rode Mic dead cat staying on. I put a small, small dot of super glue on the prongs and pressed it into place on the rode mic for a few seconds, and mine has not come off since. I hope this helps. Happy Shooting.

    Loved watching Kim, those clouds & light were still special after sunset, nature's great in surprising us for sure! And I love silhouetted images that involve people out walking on the beach. x

    Great video Kim, sorry you are having problems. Audio was good I did not hear any wind noise. Does your Nikon have a sensor cleaning selection in your camera menu? Have you tried any Exposure Bracketing for Sunset/Sunrise shots? Thank. you again for another awesome video....Fred in Texas.

      @kimgrantphotography  ปีที่แล้ว

      The Nikon I have does have a sensor cleaner yes. I have bracketed a few times but I personally prefer to take one image using filters on occasion - less time spend on the computer 😅 Good to do though

    That sky at 2:52 was epic. At 5:34 your dead cat looked like a sea urchin on the wet sand. I would have taken a wider photography to capture some of that pink light in the higher clouds, granted the people would almost look like specs on the beach and the hills in the distance wouldn't stand out. Do you have a blower bulb, to blow dust or specs of sand or dirty off your lenses or sensor?

    • @kimgrantphotography
      @kimgrantphotography  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you. I do yes but wouldn't attempy to use it on the sensor when at the beach. I use the blower a lot for my lenses though and when cleaning the sensor at home 🙂

    You really are getting your money's worth out of that lens. I really like the compression of the hills coming closer to your silhouetted people walking along the shoreline. We both really are lucky to live near the sea, even if my is a bit more industrialised than yours.
    I can also appreciate your Rode woes as well. Thankfully my Dead Cat's never fell off my mics however one of them died and I had to return the setup a couple of day's ago for a replacement.😭
    If you are in the market for a sensor cleaning kit then I can highly recommend "VSGO Full-Frame sensor cleaning kit" from Amazon. I use the micro four thirds version, I would add a link but TH-cam does not allow them.

    I just found you channel, thanks for doing this. I have a question I’m thinking of going to mirrorless Z6 2, I love taking land scape, what lens would you recommend

    • @kimgrantphotography
      @kimgrantphotography  ปีที่แล้ว

      That's great news Kimberly! The Z6 II is a great camera. I'd you're looking to take generic landscape shots the 24-70mm is good but my favourite lens is the 24-200mm. Gives so much options 🙂 All the best with it

    I was working up in your neck of the woods today, in Boddam. I had my camera with me and had every intention of grabbing a shot of Rattray Head lighthouse when I had finished the job. But as the rain was so heavy that the windscreen wipers didn't clear the windscreen even on the fastest setting, I didn't bother. Maybe next time.
    As for the dead cat, I ended up glueing mine into place - just be careful not to get glue on the microphone itself.

      Brilliant to hear you were in Boddam. Real shame about the weather. Hopefully you'll make it to Rattray soon 🤞
