My life up to now got truly empty to me... since Covid I tried numerous times to get my photography going again after 35 years of not doing it.. I early retired because my body just couldn't do what I needed to do anymore so I felt photography was my answer... this video has truly said word for word how I feel inside about a photo... I'm so glad that you made this video... thank you 😊
The images that you showcased in your video highlight the importance of postprocessing in photography, some times very subtle changes to a photographe can be all that's required to make a difference in the final results. Nice to see you post this video.
I have your book about half read and am seeing photography through a different lens. Keep doing what you are doing as you are an inspiration to follow!
All those photos are stunning, with ideal weather conditions, time of day, and natural surroundings. I would have captured some images from the ground level.
It will come as no surprise that I absolutely love the gulls, but what inspires me with these images is wanting to get more pictures of the birds in their environment and not just the fill the frame portraits that I typically get. Also with the gulls a nice contrasty black and white would be really cool. In fact when I have something that I’m not quite sure about, I look to see how a black and white edit would look, and more often than not it works.
Love your vedios. I also love nature photography, AND YES, sometimes the midday sun !! Creates beautiful lines and contrast when edited in B&W. Thanks again for the inspiration. I just finished editing photos form hurricane Helena passing off the coast of Fl. The surge, the clouds was unbelievable, UNTIL EDITED... NEVER give up on your images until you explore them. I achieved what I saw !!

I have got your book, it is fabulous, enjoying reading it, . I am someone that loves colour and I am more drawn to subjects that is more colourful and this gives me more inspiration to create lovely images. Thank you for your inspirational guidance with your book and videos, and enjoy continuing your inspirational journey too, as it is so refreshing to see so many ways to explore a difference way to create beautiful photos from the norm, I found your youtube channel over a year ago, and it has helped me to pick up my camera again to create and make some lovely photos, which has ignited my love for photography again.
Fog by itself doesn't make a picture. Like a sunrise or rainbow you may want to take a documentary image of the conditions, but to create an image you need something more than "there was fog". For many landscape pictures adding fog can be helpful to show depth, create layers between things at different distances, separate a foreground object from the background. But first you need to have that subject you would like to take a picture of that would benefit from the fog. For some of my "special places" I'm actually trying to eventually catch them in fog ... It is an important thing in arts to understand what is your kind of subject. If you want to write poetry, what is it supposed to say? While learning the craft it may make sense to follow someones footsteps for a while, but eventually you have to figure out where you want to go. Don't try to make somebody else's pictures, don't grow bonsai to others' taste. I very much liked the first picture with just a single bird. Without it the landscape would have been just a nice backdrop lacking something happening in front.
Your point about finding your own style is well taken. I disagree with those landscape photographers who don't want people in their shots. I like the juxtaposition of the manmade landscape with the natural landscape that you get in the Faroe Islands, for example.
Another thoughtful and beautiful video. Your approach is certainly unique and a valuable perspective not really seen in other landscape photography channels on TH-cam.
I love mist because in my part of Australia the light of summer is very bright and harsh. Mist makes the world look new and there is a feeling timelessness where humans don't exist. My favourite photo was the lone Duck gliding on the water. somehow added to this mist I wondered where was it going what was it thinking. As always Kim a lovely video and photographs.
Last night I experienced swans during twilight at the lake. I took some photos but the moment and experience was better than what I could photograph. It impacted my mood and I will return to that memory in my mind. I would have loved to share the experience through images but maybe next time I can do more with my device.
It is lovely that you were able to witness such a beautiful moment. Sometimes, it can be a challenge to create in an image what we see with the eye. The emotion and memory will remain, though, which is lovely.
I always like to see the way fog makes tree images look so, I would have taken trees with other features that I might have found to include. Like the trail disappearing in the fog and trees.
I was thinking that If you were to wear a bright colour jacket and inject yourself into the misty image. Maybe that would bring the vibrance into your images. (just a thought) That is such a beautiful area. Thanks for bringing me along!

I like images like the one i see at 5:03, the log with it's reflection and what looks like a small grass or weed growing out of it.

I liked the solitary bird best. The mist shrouded forest and lake is a solitary scene and the single gull tells that story best to me.

It has taken me years to find my niche. Which is Abstract, ICM in Nature. And Nature has loads of colours all around us.
