The ICM gave really good results. I could see a some of them big on a wall over a couch. Moody and beautiful and kind of easy to execute. Gives hope for a drunken old photographer.🇺🇸

I find if I want to get up for a sunrise I can't sleep anyway haha the anxiety of knowing I need to rise early. But yes, clearly you were definitely supposed to be up and ready for that morning! Imagine having missed those beautiful skies, just incredible. The ICM images were lovely, such a different feel to that fiery sky, so soft and calm.
Kim, you did extremely well to create so many beautiful images AND still film a video, all within that brief window of spectacular light. It mightn’t have met your expectations, but it certainly exceeded mine. Well done! 🙂🦘🇦🇺💕

Yes they were. I tried ICM images a couple of times with some not so great results. I guess you need the right camera speed movement & subject. I'll give it a couple of more tries.

First off, WOW! Great shots! I feel you blew the opportunity to shoot some great pano’s. I know you don’t shoot panoramic pictures but they take no time to shoot on location. The sky was absolutely amazing.
The image at 4:26 is really nice, it just needs a bit of a longer exposure to bring out the full potential. A 6 or 10 stop filter makes such a difference with conditions like these! :)
The colours and textures in the clouds were stunning. I understand that you wanted pristine still pools of water for reflections, but don't let perfection be the enemy of the good.
Thank you for this morning’s video I particularly liked the ICM shots. I find that in conditions like these a longer exposure of a few seconds helps to smooth out the ripples in the pools on the beach whilst having minimal cloud movement to get some reflection from the sunrise. Ewan
Nice light , nice photos. I've been out where there were clouds & the Color or orange/red light just didn't happen, I read somewhere lately that they have to be high clouds. I guess it makes sense for the sun to be bouncing off the bottom of them. Do you find this to be true? Thanks for any replies if any.
Can you help me understand the DoF preview button. When the DoF button is pressed, do you have to keep it pressed to see the actual DoF for as long as it is pressed , or is it a quick press and the effect of aperture is visible for as long as you need to see it. The reason I’m so interested is to my way of thinking Aperture is part of the exposure triangle and therefore if its not shown in real time how does one expose properly when closed down or is that what I am missing - you have to keep the button pressed to correctly expose the shot.
Amazing images of Moray, I love them all! Can I ask whereabouts you did the shoot? My favourite places are Lossiemouth and Burghead, but it’s all beautiful! 📸

When I can’t sleep I take a picture of the moon.
