That definitely sounds like it needs a carburetor cleaner rebuild. If it's not idling properly it's probably the pilot jet is being clogged. You can get yourself a nice kit from all balls. When do you set the mixture screw about 2 1/2 turns out from lightly seated
You should be TDC on compression stroke. If your TDC on the exhaust stroke the the cam lobes with be touching the bucket & you will also be on what is call the overlap part of the stroke where the exhaust vavles & intake vavles are open at the same time. Also if your TDC on compression stroke you can make sure that you are still in time & that your cam chain isn't stretched out.

Yeas definitely buy the set if 3. You never know when you might need them for a diff quad. They pretty much work on everything that has a tapit style valve train.

Hey I have an 02 250 ex and it starts idles rough sometimes but it seems to have a lower end tick. It pops and backfires too

I have a trx 250ex that i want to put a 74mm big bore kin on it and i was wondering what would i have to change and what the specs are for it
Hey I just bought an 02 250ex and it runs great till it warmed up then when I gas it it will stall but it will idle fine
It probably jist need a good carb clean. Also check the spark plug make sure it's not fouled & make sure you have good gas in the tank.

Most likely it needs a good carb clean & adjustment. Sounds loke you have a clogged pilot jet if it doesn't run off throttle are idle

I picked them up off of Amazon for like $30.00 tapit adjuster tools. They work really good for all types of atvs & utvs with tapits.
