AMD would have not given up the higer range if they had a secret weapon.....

AMD has no secret weapon, they announced they are leaving the high end gpu market.

And they will keep mid range price as high as high end - so mid range performance for high end price

So they can sell them to AI companies.

    • @zafert85

they are taking a hiatus just like with the 5700xt

@@zafert85 That is fine if this is a bang for buck. 8800XT needs to be 7900XT performance for 350$ if they want to make a dent in market share

if you watch the video, the secre weapon are apus that destroy mist gous except high end that is the ones that dont sell much, that will limit drastically sales of nvidia and force them to lower prices or move to another market, or jist forget about gaming that is just 3% of their earnings, nvidia is mostly servers now

    I have a 7900xtx and it’s a beast, I’ve also never had a driver or software issue

AMD needs a zen moment with their GPUs. Some say that will come with RDNA 5. Let's see. If it does, then the Zen6 + RDNA5 APU will be the crown jewel. And apparently, if rumours are true, that is what the next-gen consoles will be on. It could be a powerful APU that powers entire PCs without dGPUs. I can see great mini-PCs powered by a chip like that. No more need for big towers.

It will lack flexibility which is what PC is all about. And that lack of flexibility also makes it more expensive.

So are you saying that the route Apple took with their Mx chips is the path forward? Eventually these will be beefy enough to power desktops and you'll just buy an APU and no CPU + GPU?

Technically they already are powerful enough. That's been demonstrated with the steam deck, and the AMD 6800U. The average person already has all they need in those systems. Strix Point just pushes the envelope even further. Strix Halo will do the same, but with PS5 levels of processing power in integrated graphics. And you'll still be able to add a discrete gpu once you decide you want to upgrade.

Amd cpu is kind of dominating the cpu market so now they can dominate the gpu market

When I saw AFMF2 supports Multi GPU to separate normal GPU function and Frame Generation I started thinking about a powerful APU paired with a Powerful GPU. The GPU will do the GPU things while an APU will handle the Frame Gen. This has got to be AMDs plan.

IF amd brins out card that will trade punches with nvidias 3rd highest performing card i will go amd hands down, i dont wanna pay the prices as a 4090 is today, Ive tested most 3000 seriers card and rx 6000 series card and i prefer the RX 6800 over my 3080 when gaming on linux nvidia drivers are just broken and screen tearing all over the place and vram leak, with amd card it was just install driver and go never had any problems. atm im rocking the rx 6800

Ever since seeing the performance AMD provides at its price points, regardless of the performance of nvidia GPUs, its made me dislike the company as a whole. The fact that AMD makes GPUs at HALF the price and hold their own against nvidia just shows how hard nvidia is price gouging their customers. And that is WITH amd competing against them. Wonder what prices would start to look like if AMD wasnt around...

No matter how good AMDs GPUs are, their software is ages behind. Where is their competitor to Nnidia RTX HDR? If you have a 4k Oled, Nvidia RTX HDR is a MUST to fix all the broken HDR games . Nvidia is always steps ahead in softeare, so AMD will never have a "Secret Weapon" until they catch up in software, no matter if they have better hardware and they dont have that either.

Nvidia and AMD cousins are fixing the market. All of sudden AMD is ganna stop making high end cards and all of sudden nvidia will only focus on high end cards. Sounds like price fixing to me. No one is talking about this. Call me crazy, but im not the only one seeing this right? Since AMD will no longer make high end cards, people will be forced to buy expensive nvidia cards because they have no choice.

People are too blind to see, and to uneducated to understand. That's why they need affirmation on what graphics card to buy, they can't even do their own research and make a decision.
