If the ball bearings are the cause of the death wobble, that means there is excessive give in the bearings with a force applied. So the roller bearings have less give, and that will make the bike more sensitive to handlebar input because now there's less slop between the grips and the front tire contact patch.
The tapered roller bearings reduce the slop in the steering and will feel smoother to turn. The tyres provide better grip on the road and will feel quicker to act with any input into the steering. It's much more evident when changing the front tyre on a dirt bike, especially when going from an old worn-out tyre to a new knobby tyre.
I was thinking tires see I know stuff guess I should I first started riding in 1971 got new tires on my bolt it made all the difference on my dirty rocky road
Awsome video. I had a 2014 and now a 2023 bolt. both didnt have a death wobble. I installed baron h bars on my 2023 and now have a death wobble. I was wondering....Since i aded the higher h bars, is it normal for a little more back and forth motion by the triple tree with the rubber bushings? I hope I installed them correctly. I cant tighten them any more.
Absolutely. Taller bars will give you that back and forth play. You can get the metal riser bushings from 3/10 parts or some washers from a department store. Either one will fix that issue
@@StrayAwayDave awesome thanks for the info. Had a question.... When I put my H bars on I had to drill out the plate bigger that holds all the cables since the new bolts were bigger. It looks like I may have cut a wire because my speedometer does not show miles per hour and my menu buttons don't work. But it does glow but blank and the lower indicator lights show that I'm in neutral and my high beams are on and shows when I'm using turn signals. My question is do you think the low fuel indicator will still work? Right now I'm using my phone app for speed.
@rizkybiss oh man. I’m not much of an electrical guy. I’d say go for a day ride or something and just run till you see the light or hit 120 miles. That’s usually when my light comes on.
My new bearings make the bike feel so much better but does seem to want to lean one way when hands are off. Maybe its tire wear, maybe the forks arent perfectly aligned, or just the road crown. But at least it doesnt wobble.
I have the same “lean” feeling. Prettty sure it’s the road in most cases but I’m starting to think that maybe these bikes just aren’t well balanced from the start 🤷♂️ nature of the beast

I really appreciate the explanation. Makes a ton of sense ✊🏼
I am fixing to buy a 24 model I will let you know if that is an issue
Ayyye congratulations big dawg! Please let me know. Genuinely hope they fixed it
I just bought a 24 bolt and haven't noticed any wobbles, is it just because its new or did they fix it? Ive put 1500 miles on it so far
No clue dude 🤷♂️ Hopefully they did fix it and you won’t have to worry about it.

Bike handles better for sure. Just took me some time to get used to it.

New tires definitely helped the wobble. The bearings fixed it. I have some other ideas that might help make it better
@@StrayAwayDave I'm pretty sure your bolt has a lot more miles on it than mine does hey how many has it got
@@StrayAwayDave get er done hehe
A little over 41k now
Bro thanks for take the time on explaining everhing, you hit the point men 🫡

The difference in handling is because of the new tires. No flat spot.
Is that a R-spec ? I want to put high bars on my C-Spec but than realized I’m gonna have to change the Triple Tree to a R-spec triple tree 🤦🏽♂️
Yeah it’s an R-spec.
For what it’s worth, changing the top triple isn’t that hard. You could probably do it without taking very much off
death wobble is often tires not inflated enough. Tires are to be checked every 2 weeks
I agree but this wobble was definitely caused by the neck bearings
