@@benquennell9236 Nordlys???? don't understand, but anyway have u released that this story is another german story like the last story mission in the game. the last mission in the game was another german character like this one is now. I think if they wanted to put more thought into it, why not go for japanese people in a story mission, you have 2 german characters in this game now and it seems unfair, if they have made a japanese story mission then I think it would have made it better. (Just my opinion)
This story left me feeling rather sad for the Germans (Not the Nazis). After playing this you can truly feel what it was like to watch everything you fought for come collapsing down around you.
idk it was the best one yet and the voice acting was beautiful (im german) but nothing about them felt like they were nazis because EA and Dice cut out any of the nazi stuff, although they didnt had to. Germany now allows swastikas and nazi history in games if its for THIS purpose, so idk it just feels weird.

you do realize third reich was dominating everybody from 1939-1943? they could easily include campaigns where they won battles because there are lots of them. The only reason third reich lost was greed...they wanted to hold so much teritorry, expanding to eastkilled them mostly and ussr did most of the heavy lifting in winning the war...

Some soldiers, officers, including the Hitler Youth, were fanatically loyal to Hitler and the war. Schröder is an example of that. Some committed suicide after they heard Hitler was dead, because they believed it was dishonorable to continue living without their leader. Many others however were just regular soldiers and humans, and wanted the war to end instead of dragging it out for no reason.
A lot of the indoctrinated youth had been brainwashed to that degree. My grandfather was in the Hitleryouth and later in the war was used to drag the dead and wounded soldiers to medics or burry the dead. His hatred and fanatic will to keep fighting never left him. Till his death he saw Americans as invaders , Russians as the incarnation of evil , rapist communists - controlled by his favorite enemy. The high finance jews. He liked the british and the french thou.... oddly enough. He told me how they saw the end of the war coming. He told me how the last remains of a SS division ( 5th Wiking if i remember correctly ) fought well to the last day. Running out of ammo and supplies. Using the kids like him to carry arty coordinates to the few Nebelwerfer they still had. Until they had no ammo left. They were his heroes. His whole idea of what a good and just world was to be. Was the fascist idea. The state- the culture - the race is all that matters. To sacrifice a life. Or hundreds of lifes to protect the nation / race. Was a honorable thing. Only as the SS lay down their guns. They surrendered as well. After days of heavy arty shelling . Stuck in the basement of their house. They still wanted to fight, even thou they were afraid of death. there still was fighting all around him. Americans got shot dead in the yard of his house. Germans lay dead in the streets. they could watch it from the basement window. And once it was done. The US Soldiers tortured the Waffen SS soldiers. I can still remember his hate as he told me how he was looking at them being flogged and whipped in the stables. * They whipped them until the blood was splattered 3 meters high on the walls. Beat 17year old boys to death. They do not tell you this in Hollywood movies. * and he would show me the barn in which it happened. He had 4 brothers. They all fought - they all believed in the Reich. Most of them got over what happened and began a new life after the war. my grandfather however... he never could forgett or forgive. He signed up to the new founded Bundeswehr only to get a chance to kill Russian / Polish soldiers. For his father was killed in Poland 1944. He served his whole life. Always preparing ,waiting ,hoping for the cold war to turn hot. Until i had to burry him 2 years ago. If you ever question how deep this * Never surrender * thing went in Germany. I can only give you what i know from the storeis of my family. And say that it ran very deep with the majority of them.

The best War story of Battlefield 5. It was gritty and didn't have a happy ending like the others.
