Very interesting video thanks for sharing. I might try a piece of that raccoon if it was cooked a little bit more and hit with a couple of different seasonings. 😂👀😅❤ I am from New Orleans, Louisiana🃏🃏🃏🃏🎉
I was married to a Samoan woman , unfortunately she past away, but in my time in Samoa I learned to make the ummu . Basically fire heating rocks placed in a bed food placed ontop wrapped in banana leaves then more banana leaves thrown over the top with some heavy cloth. Wait 3-4 hours and you have the most succulent tender meat you dream of eating. The mouri's of New Zealand have a similar approach but thiers is underground from a deep pit and it's just ask good. It is with out doubt the best way to cook meat
I miss Bob so much. I don't care if he's blind by now or not. I know you've said he is doing the scout thing, but the internet still needs Bob Hansler. Even if he can't get out and about like he used to he still has knowlage and stories for us. Maybe Zack and his crew would be interested in helping out just one more fellow (beloved) Utuber? At least send Holden to go meet him for a week when school is out for some manly man Texan bred life advice.
@TheWoodedBeardsman thanks Chris. I hope Bob gets back in action soon. I know he has a disability but he would be an inspiration to a bunch of others who also have health problems to overcome. I appreciate you getting back with us on this subject.
Good video Chris. You definitely do a good job of living off the land and being able to adapt to just about anything or circumstance there may be. The pit you and Bob made was very cool! It seemed like a great way to cook the Raccoon. I can see that it could be used for just about any type of animal I would think! That root Bob was talking about Rendily Bulb, I think that's how you say it. Sounds like it would go with anything. I like onion and garlic on about anything. The Raccoon looked good actually. The meat looked like Turkey to me. Look forward to your next one. Take care.
Hiya guys, here in South Louisiana we like to cook a pig in the ground. And being a Cajun is part of the Native American culture. We learned it from our ancestors. But you can do it with other animals also. And we love it too, thanks for sharing, I hope Bob is doing great. So from Cajun Country, I hope you and yours....have a awesome blessed day. Cya! 🐱🐟 out!

Being frugal is less of a virtue but moreso just a necessity of modern life, and this hunting practice is certainly not the historical norm to our forefathers' hunting practices at the frontiers. This is artificial scarcity brought on by industrialization. Yes, this is the norm now and must be, but, whenever I see these hunting philosophies, the hunters sound more like the descendants of industrial farmers instead of the yeoman farmers.

I hope BoB is doing well. I donated to him a few years ago for his kidney.
I remember this episode. Hopefully you and bob can make another video together.
No hate here, but I wonder how many parasites did you have over the years of making content.
None. I was tested for it too, and zero found.

That looks delicious, I'm totally going to try this next time I go camping! Side note, does anyone know if this works with fish?
Ya, for sure works with fish!
Man,can you visit Bob hansler for us,we have no clue what had happen to him.
I pass on eating raccoon 😂
Very informational, thank you. What could you use as an alternative if you didn't have cactus pads in your area?
Anything that contains moisture!
And isn't toxic...
What about all the glands they say that's what makes them taste bad.
You can certainly come across them!
Love this video
Raccoon is wildly underrated!
Thanks for checking out the playlist!

Comma,

what does the cactus layer do?
It provides steam so the meat doesn't dry out.
This video is from 2018.
