Paul, my dad's been in the hospital for the last few weeks in quite a critical condition. He's a late blooming watercolour enthusiast and watching your videos have kept him and us in great spirits and he is fighting the odds for a recovery and to get back home. Very grateful for you and your videos 🙏
I really appreciate that you mention the total time that it takes to paint your tutorials. It helps the student to realize that it takes longer than 20 or so minutes to produce the painting and enables them to slow down, therefore avoiding errors. Another good tutorial.
Flowers, stone wall and an exercise in light and shadow...so much to love in this tutorial! I also appreciated your pep talk; artist have fragile egos, I think ,so it helps to be reminded to compare yourself to what you did a year ago rather than to other artists. Meanwhile, learn from those other accomplished artists, such as yourself. As always, many thanks!
I think that the stone plinthy thing is a stand to rest the Bible on, when reading sections appointed, to the congregation. Thank you Paul, for each of your beautiful tutorials. Your landscapes are so inspiring. Thank you
Thanks for you little pep talk. I needed that to accept that I will have good and bad days of painting, (lately more frustrating experiences). I love how you transform your paintings from good to amazing with the little details at the end.
Absolutely gorgeous! And being able to see your palette as you worked was super-instructive! Watching how you mixed and made use of the colors (and the space) in the wells answered so many questions I wouldn't have been smart enough to ask. I feel empowered. Thank you!!
Yes!!! I forgot to mention that! I watched closely as he mixed different colors and how intuitively he just dabbed a bit here and there and mixed it in! Really helpful to see it in practice. ❤❤❤
Now I'm over the hump of hump day Wednesday ready to charge forward! Thank you for a splendid tutorial, and I appreciate your rant. Your words are so true with everything in life. I think we often forget that accomplished artists, musicians, businessmen , laborers, and even parents became accomplished by practice, trial, and even error. My beloved Mom said she was sorry for the mistakes she made, but an owners manual didn't come with our birth certificates❤ Thank you Paul🎨
So enjoyed this delightful tutorial - thank you so much, Paul! And another thank you for Margot for a stunning photo..... You two make a very good team...😉😉
Hola Paul, buenos dias, buenas tardes y buenas neches donde ud., este. I feel like in the Godfather " just when I was trying to get out of this, they pulled me back on again". What can I said you're so fantastically talented, you make things so easy to see and understand, nothing complicated, beautiful colors. Yout comments about learning to paint in just few days are just right. It takes practice, practice. Thank you for sharing your blessed knowledge with the world. All the best and I'll be watching you for ever!!!! P,ease say hola y gracias to Margot, for all that she does for this awesome series. Gracias Paul. 🎉
Your painting is brilliant, I love everything about it, you make it look so easy ! Thanks to Margot for taking such a gorgeous photo and to you for sharing your amazing talent. This is sure a tutorial to practice everything you've taught us, cheers !
Outstanding Paul. While I understand this is an impressionistic painting, which some others seem to keep really loose, for me it’s the detail work that gets built into your paintings that I love watching. These many finishing touches, like highlights, shadows, and color shading, makes the painting come alive. Thank you for sharing your work.
I'm a beginner and I'm learning so much from you just by watching your videos. Also, you could go on that "rant" in every video and I wouldn't mind. Those are important words for beginners like me to be reminded of. Thanks and cheers
Lovely music 🎶 ❤... especially the very last one!!! I appreciated what you shared about keeping up the painting practice. I stopped painting a year ago ... health issues... then lost my drive! Been swatching some... but now my beginner status is more like starting over beginner! Thank you always from a grateful California Gramma ❤ P.S. I liked how you showed perspective!!!
Fantastic painting. You have brought out the rough texture of the stonewalls by just a few brush strokes. It's really amazing . Thank you for yet another wonderful tutorial 😊
Paul, your painting s impressive !!! I can look at it for hours :) Thank you very much for teaching us and showing us your amazing skills. Thank you very much.
I have commented on your lessons before… and was overwhelmed when you responded…I can hardly imagine what it’s like to be an artist of your skill…but the fact that you share your knowledge with others is a statement that sets you apart from the others…thank you again for always giving me something to look forward to!!!
🎉lovely. Tricky perspective which you demonstrate perfectly and the importance of knowing when to add and when to stop adding. I found this session really useful. Thank you. Andy
Absolutely beautiful work. You are certainly a confidence booster. And your videos combined with your wonderful ‘Watercolour’ book are having their affect on my painting. Thank you. 😊
Thank you for your kind advice. And for sharing your work with everyone. I love your artwork. You are never predictable in your painting. I am always learning many things from your demonstrations.
I completely agree Paul! Why would you want a “quick fix” when you can enjoy a lifetime of learning? Not only are you a great artist, but also a philosopher!
I had to put my sunglasses on as the light through the window was so bright. We all can relate to the artist who has lost the way. Thanks for the encouragement to "keep calm and carry on". Now I must go and clean the splatter from the ceiling , wall and floor. Thank You.
It's beautiful, as always. What I like most about your tutorials is the tips that you give. I saw today, in an earlier video of yours a painting of Mousehole in Cornwall, and the use of a rule pen. I had never heard of them and I love that they can be used with masking fluid. I really appreciate your generosity so I popped a little something in the tip jar. x

I would like to take this opportunity to express my sincere appreciation for the insightful videos you create. I have found immense value in them and have learned a great deal. Your techniques have had a profound impact on my artwork, and I have already applied them to create several paintings. I wanted to extend my heartfelt gratitude for generously sharing your extensive knowledge with us.
3pm Texas, central time. Your wonderful stonework showing how to build the texture and perspective is so helpful. Thank you for all you do for artists. Your work is important and a joy to watch.
I love this painting. I wish I could afford to go to some of your workshops or trips, but where I am living now is such an inspiring place. I just want to thank you for your kindness and tutorials. You enrich the lives of so many!
Beautiful , Beautiful Paul. Wow , thank you so very much for this tutorial. Especially how to do a recessed image. You make it look so easy. Your tutorials are like a breath of fresh air in our hectic busy days. Love love them. Thank you so much. 💖💖💖💖🎉
Paul, I can't wait to paint this in the morning. Your stone work is incredible. It's so realistic. And watching you create it is pure joy. I am learning so much from you. About four years ago I started with oils, not very good at it. I decided to try watercolor because I love the look of it. Since I have began to watch your videos, my drawing has improved some and the watercolors while challenging are looking well shall we say, interesting? I just am so happy to have found you and your videos. Thank you so much Paul. Norma PS and your sense of humor is a bonus.
Good morning dear Paul☕🍩🥕🌽🍎🍇🍤🍴🍽️!!! I always look forward to watercolor Wednesday and today you are with us again and as always with a smile and joy to meet us. Thank you Paul for your work and all the best to you! I put a like 👍 and say goodbye until next Wednesday.Bye...bye...💋💋💋♥️♥️♥️🌹😊😊😊👍👍👍🎨🎨🎨🖼️🖼️🖼️
Hi Paul, well I really enjoyed my very first water colour painting along with you. It took me around 3 hours. My rounded window nook is not very convincing as I didnt have a photo alongside me, ( I found it quite tricky without that) I will look forward to the next challenge. I love the boats with pub❤😊Love debs 23:26
Hello again, Paul. I benefited most from your words than the painting, (unusually), this week, regarding hitting low points in the ‘process’. There are so many videos on TH-cam that promise quick results, but, as you said, experience counts! Thanks again, Dave.
This is beautiful Paul! Margo takes amazing photos! Thank you Margo! I love the music in the background! I also so appreciate seeing your palette! That helps so much! I hope you keep including it! I don’t think this is an easy sketch, especially the lines you drew in for perspective, but I'll try. I so appreciate and look forward to all your tutorials even if I don’t think I can do them!!! 😊💕
I’m quite detail oriented in my paintings and I’ve avoided painting bunches of flowers. I should go down the impressionist route to paint bunches of flowers. Thank you for the reminder. BTW I love the t-shirt… as it matches the beautiful painting. 😊
Margo’s photo is lovely! And you of course did a painting to bring out the best from it. Again thank you so very much for the way you present your tutorials, from the fun shirts & added humor, but the way you teach helps me so very much, thank you from N Ohio.
Thank you so much for your delightful free videos. I appreciate them very much. I also love the fact that you appear to ejoy what you do. I also love your sense of humor.
....well Paul, I'm a couple of years into this addictive behaviour and only 8 mins into the video I've spattered the windows, the picture and the house, got the value of the flowers far too dark, the sketch took me loads of goes and it still wasn't that good but I've gone for it anyway.... on the plus side I DID mix up enough wash AND remembered to wipe off the excess paint from the tape....if I get to the end with any semblance of light on stonework I might eat ice cream! Love every minute of it and too much "progress" is for the miserable. :) Thanks so much.
Do you paint first and then make the t-shirt? Or do you make the t-shirt and then paint. 👕😂I find I can’t plan too far ahead for my videos. I like spontaneity and surprises. Lol. This painting is glowing and vibrant! So beautiful and intricate without a lot of detail. Amazing! Thank you also for the pep talk about just creating and having fun and gaining experience. That’s really it. Experience is the key to getting better. This is my favorite channel on TH-cam and I’m blessed by your gift of art. 🎨🖼️🖌️Much love to you and Margot. ❤❤❤
Thanks so much Jacquline - usually the t-shirt is the last thing I do if I'm making them - if I'm ordering from Amazon, I do it after I finished the painting!!!
Hi Paul, I always love it when you come up with some news. I'm learning every time, so I'm going to try this one too. Greetings from a drizzly and wet Holland.
This is such a challenging subject but watching you build it is incredible. I have had “trouble” with stone work … and this is so helpful. A beautiful painting 😊. Big thanks 🙏
My watercolor attempts always end up muddy and frustrating. Your tutorials make me believe I could apply your techniques and maybe create something I'm happy with. Thanks for sharing your talents....I'll try again.
Thanks Paul this wonderful tutorial…..you made the walls came alive with your touch of colours and flowers look so beautiful. Thanks once again for sharing this tutorial. Today only I finished the challenge Urn your keep, will try this one now. …Nancy
Thank you again for your gentle ways with watercolour, I never miss your demonstrations. Thanks to Margo for lovely photo. I think that plinth in the window may have been used to place a candle on. Anyway, thanks from Ireland
Thank you very much, I’m relatively new to watercolour but really enjoy challenging myself and stepping out of my comfort zone. Love your encouraging way and so am constantly learning from your tutorials.
Very lovely and so much great information. I also appreciate that you include your painting time which might be a lot longer for the much less experienced. :)
Really enjoyed this one Paul I love the way you build up your pictures and the way your brush flits across paper a small mark here and there a dot a patch lovely to watch
Oh wow that’s much more complicated to paint than I was thinking 🤔 after watching you paint this. I don’t know how you have managed to not splatter all over the window & the flowers. Unlike your masterful control with that technique 😂, I will definitely have to cover the flowers & window with a couple of cutouts of paper to protect those areas from my splattering technique. I definitely enjoy the constant challenges along with yours & Margot’s encouragement to actually give it a go with the paintings each week. Thanks for sharing this wonderful video & enjoy your week!
Paul, my dad's been in the hospital for the last few weeks in quite a critical condition. He's a late blooming watercolour enthusiast and watching your videos have kept him and us in great spirits and he is fighting the odds for a recovery and to get back home. Very grateful for you and your videos 🙏
Great to hear - many thanks! ... hope he is better soon and delighted to help.
😢So sorry your dad is I’ll. Take care and I hope he recovers soon.
Hoping your dad gets well! 🙏
Hope your dad gets well soon
Sending best wishes to you & your Dad, wishing him a speedy recovery xx
I really appreciate that you mention the total time that it takes to paint your tutorials. It helps the student to realize that it takes longer than 20 or so minutes to produce the painting and enables them to slow down, therefore avoiding errors. Another good tutorial.

Great Texture!

Inspirational. There are so many elements here to capture. Hope I'm up to the challenge. ☕ But first a coffee ! Have a great day Paul and thank you.
Thank you! You too!
Flowers, stone wall and an exercise in light and shadow...so much to love in this tutorial! Lovely! How you found the matching shirt is amazing.
Thanks - to be fair ... I made the shirt myself but don't tell anyone!
I loved your Rant you gave. I'm returning to Watercolor after 15 years and I noticed the best way to learn is painting and watching tutorials. 😊

What a beautiful painting, thanks. I really enjoy watching you paint.
Thank you so much Vicki 😀
Really enjoyed this one Paul I love the way you build up your pictures and the way your brush flits across paper a small mark here and there a dot a patch lovely to watch
Glad you enjoyed it
Oh wow that’s much more complicated to paint than I was thinking 🤔 after watching you paint this.
Thanks for that Colleen - but you should see the state of my studio walls!
@@ArtbyPaulClark 🤣💕& You’re welcome 😉.
