Thank you for the well explained diagnosis and treatment. I am 78 yrs old suffering from hands, feet and legs numbness, tingling and like fibgernails and toenails are wrapped in barbed wires. I have fibromyalgia, scoliosis, sciatica. Had laminectomy in 2001 and has been doing good with my daily routine doung household chores and hobby like sewing, gardening, house repairs and dancing. But in April 2023, I was dancing the cha cha, one turn and I was there on the floor not knowing what happened. Then after, I found it so hard doing my he dishes, preparing food and I lost feelings in my hands and feet. Since Sept., it has gotten worst because like toes and fingernails are with pinprickng sensationand I can not walk properly. I am now like a child learning to walk. Thank you Dr. Cooper. I take gabapentin, tumeric and b complex and omega 3. I am going try alpha lipoeic acid. Thank you again and more power. God bless you all who are trying to help people through your chanel.
I have the same problem numbness in both hand and leg for 3 month, has your symptoms subside after you have used that medicine (gabapentin and B complex) and how is your condition now
Good afternoon Dr. I have problems with S1 and L5. Been taking bcomplex along with Omega 3 and b12 for sometime. I am experiencing severe numbness of my feet with severe back pains especially after sitting You spoke of alpha lipolic acid. What strength do you recommend? Thank you for the presentation. I look forward to further videos 😊 I
Just watched your channel, very informative. Doctors in the office do not get into such detail. You are a valuable resource to people hurting and don't know why. Will be watching !!
This is ag reat lesson for those of us suffering from backpains,,nerve pains, numbness and tingling. Physio therapy for them to keep going strong and pain free. Be blessed and keep on.
I was getting shots in my hips as I had pain down my legs. I bought an inversion table and haven’t had a shot. When my back or legs get sore, I just get on inversion table and rock to help my lymph nodes to drain. It’s been 15 years
Very informative. I've had foot numbness after TKR with history of 3 foot surgeries and L4-5, S1 fusion. I had an EMG recently but have no working diagnosis yet. You've given me direction. thank you
Thank you so much , this is extremely informative. I have been suffering for years and have done all the test with neurologist and no results. I will share this information with the neurologist and see how we go from there . Blessings to you for helping us, 🙏🌺
Very informative I have L5 L4 bulging disc iv had an epidural steroid nerve block unfortunately didn't work Iv been left with pain and numbness in the foot waiting on nerve conductive tests great video
WOW, amazing lessons I have learned and I appreciate your knowledge and expertise!! You are an excellent physician and amazing in explaining how to make an appropriate evaluation of neuropathy in the feet or a leg sciatica nerve being pinched in the S1 area !!! I greatly appreciate your teaching lesson!!! VERY well received and understood!!!🙏 Thank you so much... GOD BLESS💖☝️
Thanks so much Doctor for this perfect explanation. This is exactly what I am experiencing. I have a pinched nerve in my lower back spinal cord which is giving me a hell of pain making me confused Doctor. Thank you so much now I know what the problem is. GOD Bless you.
Excellent video. I’m dealing with what you described as bilateral symptoms in my feet that disappear when I sit down. Thank you for the thorough explanation.
I've been diagnosed with neuropathy in my legs. So I have numbness in my feet and I got no strength in my legs so I have a hard time getting up I can't push myself up. I have to hold on to something to get up anyways. Can you help me or let me know what's causing this? I've been to a Doctor same Doctor about 3 times and he keeps telling me.I have neuropathy but I don't have diabetes thank you. I also don't have any balance.
So lovely your videos as a PT in my former years and as a Sports Massage & Rehabilitation Specialist 🤗 I am so grateful for your knowledge and your Expertise and Experiences. Your amazing! I love the full explanation of all diagnosis & Symptoms. Keep up the sense of humour too it's nice to be human 😆 to be humble is in search of the knowing we are not God 😊 we learn and Share together in our knowledge. Big hugs and use nerves glides a lot with my clients. Would love to see more videos just on these 🙏😇😇😇
A great and a amazing video doctor. May God almighty help you increase your knowledge and support the needs. I learned a lot from your valuable video and I wish I can see you.
Very good information..I have weakness of muscles in my hands Tingling and numbness of legs and spinal cord Weakness of neck Head feeling heavy I need to learn more Thank you very much doctor
Thank you so much! I learned that I probably have double crush neuropathy. I had a spinal fusion 8 years ago and have had numbness and tingling in my foot ever since. I've been to two podiatrists who couldn't help, or even diagnose it. I am now going to look at those exercises you recommended. Exercise of almost any kind helps I think.
when watching this video, you mentioned if a person has numbness & tingling in both feet & it doesn't improve when you sit, stand or walk it's very likely to be peripheral neuropathy . Mine improves when I do those things, especially standing & walking. Laying down in bed is when the symptoms are at it's worst, preventing me getting to sleep & staying asleep when I eventually do sleep. Burning pain, pins & needles, stiff joints in my toes & feet, especially the top of my left foot. It feels like I have very heavy, tight working boots on when the stiff, tight feeling begins within a 5 minute period & lasts all night. When it's really unbearable I have to get up & pace the floor for awhile but as soon as I get back into bed the symptoms start up again. The same thing is happening in my left arm, left leg, left hand & fingers, my mouth, gums & tongue everyday of my life for the last 3 years. I have had tests, tried different modalities, spent a small fortune on supplements. I can relate to the feeling wrapped in barb wire comment someone made in the comments. Thank you for the video, very informative, no one has ever suggested what it could be. What kind of a doctor are you, what do you specialize in exactly please?
Have anything helped? This is exactly what my mom has. They think it's because of diabetes, but she's been borderline diabetic for the last 30 years so it's plausible. She currently has been prescribed Gabapentin which she is hesitant to take but has tried. It works, but she has stopped to see how long it last as it's been rumoured to cause dementia. I have encouraged her to take it as it will allow her to go to the gym and sleep, both of which if she doesn't do give her dementia anyways. But we will take it slow for now. Her issue is new, and it's been complicated by an infection caused by her self-medicating. Currently i'm waiting for it to heal. She is in her mid 80's.
He says how rare a sciatic nerve release is, I have had so many injections and physical therapy sessions that didn't help and had 3 surgeries for the sciatic nerve and it was the only thing that worked.
Thanks for the information. I have been suffering for almost a year now, with severe pain in my lower lateral leg. No pain killer seem to work. I am doing therapy now.
I suffer from cold feet and tingling, been tested for diabetes but that was negative so currently just going through a battle with my doctor to look into things further.
Hi Doctor ❤ thank you so much for explaining very persice and detailed ❤ my toes are always cold even in summer, may I know what should I do to heal or what are the causes?
Very good- recent L5 compression fracture, also one 3 years prior- no pain, no tingling just symmetric numbness above ankle to top of both feet. Can electrical testing locate the source? Is there a video you have produced? Thanx- great work!
Yes an EMG is generally the best way to trace out the nerves and find the problem. One note - electrodiagnostic testing (emg/ncs) only checks the peripheral nerves so if there is a central problem (like brain or spinal cord itself) then it won’t show that.
I have a herniated disc at L5-S1 with a posterior annular tear. The dermatone shows the S1 root nerve is the problem since I have numbness in right heel, to outside of foot to pinkie toe. I also can’t get up on toes, plantar flexion paralysis and calf muscles are not working. This is week 5. I’ve had prolotherapy injections. No longer in pain, but concerned about numbness in right foot. I am doing Stuart McGills Big 3, nerve glides and using a band for resistance on plantar flexion, Mackenzie push up. The Dr is suggesting I see a nuero surgeon for consultation. Have you seen clients/patients with this same herniated disc/annular tear reverse the numbness without surgery? Do you recommend anything more than I’m doing. I’m healthy, very active. Never had surgery ever. Any advice?
thank you for this explanation of my symptoms. i’m planning on viewing this video with pen and pencil and note taking pad to follow some of your exercises. i’ve been complaining for years but it’s gotten worse and it’s affecting my walking and balance plus has made me fall which really injures the nerves.
Very imformative information. I have numbness in my feet mostly my left foot. It started when I had. A nuclear heart test. The doctor forgot I was allergic to lexisan and put me on a tread mill machine. I felt my left big toe being pulled. I told him what I felt and he stopped. Then I started feeling my feet having stiffness etc. There is so much more to this story which would take a long time. You have given me so much information. Should I get an EMG and sciatic test
I am sitting here writing this after having been diagnosed with peripheral neuropathy and a SCS in my back. I am not diabetic and never had pain in my feet and legs till I started taking Amlodipine. My cardiologist raised the dose from 2.50 to 10. I am just learning how to adjust my remote to adjust the electric waves from a battery implanted in my lower back 🥴
Thanks for a very informative video. I am diagnosed with peripheral neuropathy, numbness on top of both feet, NOT diabetic, Hb1ac 5.4. Request to please share what exercises can be done to prevent further deterioration and if possible restoration.
Thank you this was helpful. I have a pinched nerve now I have pain at the side of my foot where it looks like the bunion is affected the pain is excruciating. I have it in both feet not at the same time but if it’s not in one foot then in the other. Please help
My husband neuropathy (tingling and numbness) began in his toes in his 50's. I took him to a hospital clinic and they tested him and said, "Yes, you have neuropathy starting." But they offered no treatment, or cure. So he did nothing. Now he is age 79 and has severe neuropathy and nerve damage. He also has high arches, hammertoes, and suspected CMT (Charcot Marie Tooth Disease.) He sees a neurologist (and a foot doctor) but they say this; "There is no treatment, no cure See you in 6 months." What a waste of our time, co-pay etc.
Nerve damage is impossible to repair because every medication they use will affect the brain. My mother 84 just started saving this issue. She is prescribed gabapentin which reduces the pain. It works but my sister says side effect is dementia. In my mom case, lack of sleep from pain cause dementia too. But on it at least she can live her life.
You went to the wrong person, always google to see who is the right health practitioner to deal with your problem and always seek second opinion, I am Podiatrist, and I would ve treated him earlier to prevent severe and Chronic Neuropathy, remember there is No Cure! Only preventing it from getting worse! Everything he is saying is important, for some patients just Neuroton/Neurobin continuesly helps to stop the Nerve damage if the cause has also been removed,.
Thanks you for sharing with me 💯 support much more thank you doctor I just wanted someone to explain to me they anatomy of the body holding a separate yes podiatrist it's enough yes I am waiting on my doctor to tell me what is the reasons and I hope is that
Thanks doc. I subscribed to your chanel, you really explained so well. I have a lower righ leg numbness. I have it for 24 hours. How long can numbness stay
Dear Sir, Much appreciated for your sharing. My nerve conduction study shows electrophysiological evidence of 1. a fairly symmetrical length dependent sensrimotor demyelinating and axonal polyradiculoneuropathy 2. bilateral carpal tunnel syndrome, moderate on the left, mild on right Kindly advise my condition amicably.
Nice explanation sir,I am from India, Ahmedabad. My mother has a tingling sensation problem in legs after Spine surgery Gap adjustment and intervertebral disc replacement of lumber spine,in year 2018, tingling sensation problem has been gradually increased over the the time & still continues,it happens in whole leg & foot specifically while sitting, laying & having rest, reduces slightly while tieng some straps on leg, and standing & walking. We have been consulting neurologist &he has given some tablets for the problem but Dr says it is not curable... what is your openion Sir,kindly suggest something to reduce this sensation & tingling. Regards.
I am an 82 year old woman. I am having tingling and numbness in my feet and lower legs ( knee down). I do not have much pain, but do have some. The bottoms of my feet are ‘’mushy.’’. I some feel like I am walking through jello. I have a history of back problems. Two spinal fusions, the two lowest. These were years ago both before 1980. Around 2015, I was diagnosed with with spinal stenosis. I was treated with steroid shots and my back painand feet numbness improved. Over the years since, the feet and legs problems have gotten worse. I assumed it was caused by my stenosis and have just lived with it. Perhaps I should seek help again.
Thanks for the vid doc…I noticed my 2nd n 3rd toes on my left foot feeling numb last summer and was aware that my cross legged/kneeling sitting habits (when able to sit) may have been the cause, especially considering I’d have to stretch out every half hour when my foot goes numb (only to go right back to sitting like that and it be an ongoing cycle)..but after making the effort to change how I sit (as well as the exercises I saw online), that considerable numb/tingly whilst walking went away, but I was still left with the just top of those toes feeling mostly numb and a nervy tingling along the top of my foot, I’d even especially feel that tingling when wiggling or even stretching out my those toes or flex my foot…guess it was wishful thinking that they’d just get better too in time but they still feel the same. Then I’d forget about it and start sitting cross legged again if I failed to catch myself doing so…I even badly sprained my ankle as a result of my left foot (as usual) going numb and it rolling from to rushing to walk on it before the feeling adequately returned. I already suffer from severe RLS (for which I take oxycodone & pregabalin) so it really suck to know that I’ve potentially and repeatedly injured myself during the times I’ve actually been able to sit 😔😔😔…incidentally the nature of my meds keep regular visits with my GP every 3 months (next one being 2 weeks from now) and after watching your vid I’m now compelled to let him know to really get the ball rolling n sort it out because the wishful thinking has unfortunately done nothing to aid in my recovery lol. It’s embarrassing how foolish I’ve been that I didn’t address this sooner🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️. Anyway this has become way too long…thanks again doc, I really appreciate you opening my eyes, and I apologise for the rambling haha😅😅😅😅 EDIT: ironically, I just realised I was sitting cross legged the whole time I was typing this comment…😒😒😒 so dumb lol 🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️
Thank you Dr.,I happen to suffer this numbness in both feet soles since many years, MRI shows L4L5 disc protrusion, due to which I am suffering constant mild ache in the left limb, unable to sit for long time, also if seated on a hard surface get cramps in both buttocks very soon. Have done EMG,Color Doppler but found no blocks elsewhere. Even epidural was performed but no relief, can you please suggest some other treatment so I can look forward to some relief in the numbness in both feet.
Great information, thank you! I am 19 months post double fusion surgery at L4-S1 and have been suffering from a muscle spasm in one calf from day 3, and pronounced numbness at the top of my foot at the toe bed and under the toes. I was in PT prior to surgery to prepare, and after surgery for 18 months. I have had a nerve conduction study which shows active nerve irritation at L4 nerve root. Symptoms vary from day to day, but seem to center around hip and tibular head. Injections aren't feasible at this point due to the fusion any suggestions as to how long I should wait before actively looking for a second opinion? Any input you have would be greatly appreciated!
I even had surgery in December 2020 and I am not able to do anything for myself, because of the pinched nerve in my lower back and it is radiating right in my left foot taking the whole of my left side right into my head. Doctor I am really feeling bad. I need your advice. Thank You.
Doctor please I have taken Norgesic, pregabalin and Tramadol. But still have foot tingling and pain.My MRI shows lumbar stenosis. Please can I use those medications you mentioned on this video for tingling and pain?
I never really find anything that’s even similar to what I have. At present I’m doing well because I have been put on Lyrica, but I could do without that quite happily. I have had severe burning, tingling and numbness on the left side of my left foot and ankle. I could not sleep and I also had numbness in my little toe and adjacent toe. I did find that actually if I exercise those two toes the numbness was alleviated, and in many cases would disappear. I have mobile toes that could alleviate a lot of the numbness. Towards the end and what made me decide to go on Lyrica was that I also had twitches in my leg, and the top of my tibia would constantly get a sharp numbing pain. This was on top of the burning, tingling and numbness.. All this has disappeared with Lyrica, but I don’t know whether I’m going to have to keep increasing that, or whether it will be effective for a while… I hope. I am not happy on medication, but I am happy to be able to sleep at night because I could not sleep at night. The burning was intense. I put up with the tingling and the numbness, but the burning was impossible to ignore, nobody hazard a guess as to why I have this though. I think there are many reasons I have a foot that is flat and pronates in word, for one thing. my right foot is not quite as flat and it pronates outward. I also have a problem with my spine that I have spinal stenosis of my lumbar spine. To top all that off I am 86. I also have a straight spine and I’ve had that all my life as far as I’m concerned and my doctor tells me that my spine tips towards my right side. I am a mess.

Reaaly good information. Now we can ask our doctors for other diagnosis options if they only focus on one cause of the numbness. Thank you doctor
Thank you for the important ideas especially the exercises that are helpful to give relief to such tingling problems.
Excellent video and I like your easy to understand delivery of the information.
Thank you so much , this is extremely informative. I have been suffering for years and have done all the test with neurologist and no results. I will share this information with the neurologist and see how we go from there . Blessings to you for helping us, 🙏🌺

2. bilateral carpal tunnel syndrome, moderate on the left, mild on right

Thank you Dr Cooper for the information lower back pain under my feet and now on my neels
I currently have numbness in the area of the bone in the lower leg between the ankle and the knee. Can exercise help?
What can I take for spinal stenosis?
Thank u doc
Thanks for your explanation. How do I contact you?
Thank you for the info I eill check this
Thanks for the vid doc…I noticed my 2nd n 3rd toes on my left foot feeling numb last summer and was aware that my cross legged/kneeling sitting habits (when able to sit) may have been the cause, especially considering I’d have to stretch out every half hour when my foot goes numb (only to go right back to sitting like that and it be an ongoing cycle)..but after making the effort to change how I sit (as well as the exercises I saw online), that considerable numb/tingly whilst walking went away, but I was still left with the just top of those toes feeling mostly numb and a nervy tingling along the top of my foot, I’d even especially feel that tingling when wiggling or even stretching out my those toes or flex my foot…guess it was wishful thinking that they’d just get better too in time but they still feel the same. Anyway this has become way too long…thanks again doc, I really appreciate you opening my eyes, and I apologise for the rambling haha😅😅😅😅
EDIT: ironically, I just realised I was sitting cross legged the whole time I was typing this comment…😒😒😒 so dumb lol 🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️

Excellent content.
Wonder if you could also include numbness and tingling in the front and side of thigh going down to foot with lumber pinch symptoms on the same side
do you know any great DIoctor in Illinois around 60417
So what supplement would I use for that.
Thank you Dr Cooper excellent video explanations I would like to have your address please I will flight to get you treat my symptoms issues 🙏❤❤❤
