"Oh have we taken their bridge out?"
Don't worry, no loss! ;)
True...
Michael Burnham will be having a good cry right about ....now (:
I bet that "feelings crew" was feeling that volley of 8 torpedos 😅 Sulu was spot on with targeting the bridge! 😆
I cant stand how discovery looks.
I prefer the Stamets variant, at least as far as BC goes😅
USS PizzaCutter
It's just an awful design, nacelles way too long, dish too small for the rest of the ship. Whoever thought taking a design concept from the 60's/70's that was thrown away is an idiot.
@@TheCormTube the problem is they took a 70s concept design and decided to stretch it out in all the wrong ways.
There was an initial concept tease that was far closer to the Planet of the Titan study models, including nacelles that were closer to the original and no empty space in the saucer.
Then again, Crossfield design is but one (baffling? Questionable?) Decision of Disco S1
If it didn't have that awful triangular hull, it would be a better looking ship. Even with the pizza cutter saucer section.
Nice showcase!😅
Flowrelik did an awesome job with this model, very well done😅
In Strange New Worlds. They say that a Crossfield Class is no match for a Heavy Cruiser.
The Enterprise is a Heavy Cruiser.
I love that, in the final battle against Control, Enterprise was tough enough to run interference and tank a whole lot of explosive drones to protect Discovery. Despite Discovery being the more technologically advanced ship, even their shield readings showed Enterprise lasting longer under the same enemy fire despite being smaller and less advanced.
At the end of the day, even though Discovery has phasers and torpedoes, it's still fundamentally a science ship while Enterprise is a Heavy Cruiser.
6:45 ah, severing the neck, the weakness of the BC Connies!😅
4:42 the nacelle pylons betray that younare on the Stamets!😂
DOH! 😳🫣
Dude, I really enjoy the starship battles on your channel, but to me this fight is like pitching a garbage scow against actual garbage (paraphrasing an old Klingon proverb). STD sucks so hard that all I have to do is play it on my television to get rid of all the dust in my living room.
Keep up the good content.
@@mikejay8234 myself, not a fan of Disco, though I do like the work Flowrelik has done with his models n small tweaks, such as the Stamets n Walker Refits.
Who needs torpedos for the discovery?
They have millions upon millions of small crafts we seen them sh*t out, lol.
(Also, the forward photon volleys are planned to be reduced, as that is a wee bit OP...😂😂😂)
I don't know, that felt pretty much right to me. The Connie should be able to wipe the floor with a Crossfield class. At the very least I wouldn't drop the forward torpedo volley by any more than 2 torpedoes.
@@AlindBack the plan was to reduce the forward volley from 8 to 6 for balancing
What do you call a mirror crossfield class? A crossfield crossover!
5:00 the way to defeat the Klingon cloaking device is to put Retro Badger in charge of it!
😨🤔😂lol. Well on 2 stardates he did use the cloaking quite good.. lol!!
I like that Crossfield refit
Captain Makes the ship.... Ty for the video and LLAP!
(To the tune of Livin la Vida Loca) Uptight, won't chill out!
I'm serving with Captain Lorca. 😄
Wow you did it! The human factor wins again.
(The Stamets using TOS Phaser sfx was a choice I made when updating for RE, as the Refit would be closer to TOS era)
I'm behind the times, but I've recently finished watching Star Trek Continues. And the freaking awesome final battle makes me think:
We need a version of the TOS Enterprise that can saucer separate.
😨😂 Anubis.. oh gosh.. ''Destroy it'' Ok. lol. I like the Enterprise.. looks good and very close the The Original Series, , Discovery refit looks good though.. and yes I think the tried to use the spore drive and oops.. lol eeh ouch.. Yes I saw that episode, think took 133 jumps. just to find the cloak wow.., I have to go back to see, but eeh.. 133 jumps. gosh.. and will stop there since a few here well long story.. I liked Stamets, Saru, and the Doctor.. and Tilly ..and the spore drive.. in Discovery.. 🤔Merlin's Beard... I totally forgot gosh.. without his white hair and cane, Capt. Lorca was Lucius Malfoy, wow.. just as you showed the picture of him it hit me.. wow.!!! Well done Admiral. gosh. Saw a short, someone made and Janeway says '' let's go home and Black Alert'' if only.. if only gosh. lol. !!!😊🖖
2:46 I guess that's what happens when you mount the ship's phasers backwards.
"disgusting this discovery is" -probably timeline and universe shifting yoda
Clearly this is what really happens with Burnham in command.
I appreciate what they were going for with the Discovery aesthetic,, but they just took it way too far. I wish they had stuck with the earlier teaser design. That was much more in line with what we would’ve expected. Different just to be different isn’t always the right decision.
From what I understand, the model differences were cited for legal differences, so that they can still use the design should ownership change hands.
I wish I was joking...😅
@@MSR-1701 honestly that makes me feel a little better versus just a big middle finger to the fans. I like when Star Trek pushes the boundaries. I sometimes think that Roddenberry’s original vision is a little bit too idealized for only a few hundred years in the future. Humanity isn’t gonna change that much. But in some cases they completely discounted everything that came before just to be different. And that’s when I start to cringe.
The ending victory , regular thanks to impulse drive pinch, knock there and one and done.
This was an interesting match. I would definitely say the Enterprise is more advanced. Never mind the Discovery and Enterprise are from the same time period but one can still be more advanced than the other.
I don't think we ever got a proper idea how big the Discovery was, compared to the Enterprise, so it's hard to say how accurate this was. Though I totally understand your wanting to play with a new model of the original Enterprise.*grins*
The best we got in Discovery was when the two ships were parked next to each other to evacuate Discovery's crew into Enterprise. Enterprise was of similar height but roughly half the length. (the show definitely needed a different and better angle to provide a clearer size comparison, though)
However, in the next episode, we saw that even though Discovery was considerably larger than Enterprise and was said to be the most technologically advanced ship in the fleet, that Enterprise was lasting longer under similar enemy fire than Discovery, and even tanked a wave of explosive drones to protect Discovery. The battle showed Enterprise being the tougher ship overall. But by canon and Discovery's own writing, the Crossfield is a science ship and the Constitution is a heavy cruiser, so it would make sense for Enterprise to have the better showing in battle. And Enterprise was considered one of *the* plum assignments in Starfleet over Discovery.
YEAH!!! Enterprise destroyed that trash
I didn't think the Constitution had rear firing torpedoes
@@philipsoltwedel7646
The Defiant that was trapped in the mirror universe shot aft phasers and torpedoes at the Tholian docks.
@@Euripides_Panz Correct!
I see you discovered how to cut the Enterprise's throat. 😉
I wonder if Anubis is happy with that result.
That was not the actual crossfield class refit but the TOS imagined crossfield.
Discovery is an awesome ship and if it was the actual refit i doubt the Enterprise would survive
I strongly suspect Discovery hit the Enterprise's warp core at the end of that last battle.
is the ISS Enterprise from Discovery available? just watched that episode, would be interesting to see what she can do, especially if they gave her a refit in the future.
The best thing about Discovery is how it blows up - Discovery is such a poor programme I could not be bothered to pirate it
It was so hard to endure Season 1 to 3. I watched it anyway, because long winter days and there wasnt anything more interesting (which says a lot!)... Complete waste of time. Never bothered with their latest season.
True refit was supposed to be 32nd century!?
Too many torpedoes, and it shouldn't have a rear launcher at all.
@@AJUniverse in ENT: In a Mirror Darkly, the TOS Connie was established to have an aft torp launcher, though the way they launched looked silly (from the back of the neck). (Mind you, my brain defaults to the Franz Joseph schematics, where the torp launchers were below the bridge)
Flowrelik included an aft launcher (below the shuttle bay) on his model, which fits well with the design.
@@MSR-1701 I mean, we saw the D fire phasers from the torpedo launcher, too. It still can't do that, just like the Connie can't fire torpedoes from the aft, because there isn't a launcher there. Why do we write the former off as a VFX error, but not the latter, especially when there is just as much evidence of the Connie (pre- and post-refit) only having fore launchers as there is evidence that the D can only fire phasers from its phaser emitters?
The modders did their best with some of the ugliest ships in the std timeline.
Discovery had many issues, but the ship design isnt a flaw. It is based on the concept art for "Star Trek: Phase II". She would have been the "new" Enterprise back in the day. But because of the success of Star Wars they abandoned the TV series concept and created "The Motion picture".
where is the love for space jesus's flagship!?! i would have made it so it self destructed the moment the match starts.
That's not the Discovery refitted when they went to the future is it?
I agree can't stand it's designe
Can I just reiterate how hideous the Discovery looks. Seriously who thought that was a good design?
Do you really think that the showrunners of Discovery would come up with their own design? The design was from the Phase II concept from the 1970s. They just added some spinny things and did it with really cheap CGI.
It’s incredibly disappointing to see so many viewers of Star Trek completely miss the point. They get so triggered by Discovery that they can’t not comment to insult the characters. One person had to object to the video because he doesn’t like seeing the ship. Nonsense about Burnham crying too much, when there are zero complaints about Janeway, or Sisko or Picard crying. I love the videos here, but a lot of viewers really think it’s all about quantum torpedoes.
someone, somewhere has complained about all of those things at some point.
I don't disagree that some people are too strident in their dislike for Discovery, or the Kurtzman era in general, but what is the point being missed?
@@crownprincesebastianjohano7069 You’ve got a show about second chances, a contrast to some of the darker elements of the 90s and post 9/11 Trek. You’ve got a crew standing on a bridge on the verge of being wiped out as a species and a race saying we won’t cross this line because we’re Starfleet. The plot arcs of two seasons were about exploration of unique forms of life beyond what we’d seen on Trek before, and about understanding our own creators. This is Star Trek, in its bones.
If someone doesn’t care for Discovery, likes another show better, grew up in another generation and feels the ties of nostalgia to those episodes they’ve watched 1,000 times, I totally respect that. The ridiculously overdone hatred at Discovery is bordering on chanting “Yankees suck” at a wake. You can’t post a video of the Discovery without people whining that Burnham cries (so did every other captain who weren’t put through the wringer as much as her) or that they can’t look at it without vomiting and volunteering how much they hate the show even though they’ve seen every episode more than I have.
Think of what Star Trek means, and then look at the people who can’t gleefully hate on Discovery or Burnham, and tell me they truly get the spirit and diversity of Star Trek.
Since BOTH are Trash Trek your video is free to state anything - few real fans give a dam…..😵
The amount of weird bile people have for Discovery is just the most internet phenomenon. No one cares if you don't like Discovery, no normal person spends any of their time seeing a ship from a show they don't like and feeling immediately compelled to comment about just how much they personally didn't like a show.
Like... Enterprise is a terrible show. It's bad. It's real bad. It's far less respectful to Trek canon and lore than Discovery ever was, it was the most Rick Berman Trek ever got and it killed Trek for years. But I don't feel the need, every time I see something from Enterprise, to go, "And you know what, Archer sucked a whole bunch!"
That's because Archer ruled. Dude was a far better swimmer than Picard.
Enterprise was more Star Trek than Discovery could ever hope to be. For starters, the crew of Discovery didn't even act like Starfleet personnel would.
@@JustinStrife Enterprise went, "Everything is due to time travel that no one ever mentioned afterwards, lol wait we're insecure about this maybe it was all just a holodeck thing."
Also, what do you even mean they didn't act like Starfleet personnel? Which ones? Because TNG crew didn't act like DS9 crew didn't act like Voyager crew. Because there isn't a standard 'Starfleet' way of acting you can judge by.
This is my problem with the 'critique' - all you really want to say is that you strongly dislike the show. Cool. Good. You don't gotta make incredibly vague indefensible statements to try and make it seem like there's an objective reason that others need to respect.
