Hot tip, if you use small cable ties on the plastic clips it makes it a shit load easier and wont mar the plastic as much. Pry down and unweight the clip then slide the smooth (not box) end of the cable tie into the clip, this will stop it from re-engaging. Very hand with any plastic design that requires multiple clips to be pressed at once.

I am struggeling with that very unit RIGHT NOW and it is really a pain in the a**. After about 30 minutes, I finally got it open and discovered the reason, why it was so freaking hard: Two latches (placed diagonally) had adhesive applied: No way to open it without breaking some plastic parts. And that all just for hacking the firmware, so that the stupid device turns auto-on, when mains is turned on and disabling standby-mode. Two features, that for some reason are not available. Pretty anti-consumer.
Great video I'm really curious how to program the console (via the 6 pin and which cable, software, etc, how to connect some pins (like Arduino-breadboard wires), etc)!! If you find out.. you are exceptional!!
Only video out there indicate that you need a new control module if the lights stay lit, if blinking then it’s resistances inside the sub I got same problem
damn...i think my control unit died few days ago and i can't find one even on the 2nd hand market.input led's stay on 2 or 3 or 4.reset doesn't work.I close the console and it automatically turns on. i can't really complain after 7 years of use.I might just buy the same model again bechause there is nothing better out there. Sucks that i can't just buy a new console.Logitech should sell these things separately.Alot of people complain about them breaking on forums. cheers
You should messege their support team, after around 20 emails I convinced them to send me a replacement even though I brought mine like 8 years ago aswell. I said to them, only the console pod is broken can't I just purchase that by itself, and they approved a replacement and sent me one for free. Took a while but convinced them, initially they said its our of warranty which I didn't argue that, but people should be able to buy parts individually if needed in my opinion.

Logitech gave me 50 percent discount off my new product a new speaker system, cause my old one broke, at first they only wanted to give me 30 percent. But I heard they gave 50 percent it only took like two emails

This was a b*tch to do regardless of the tools you use. The more recent models have the tabs glued as well. Managed to get it open and put some wheel weights in there to give it some weight. Logitech really dropped the ball with the control pod. It looks and feels so cheap compared to the Z5500 version.

Just buy a VGA extension if you need a longer cable.
What is your real purpose to dissamble the console ? Is it because the console is often dead ? Have you found the sollution for it ?
