      @@ozarkoverlandoutfitters9218 great, 99 4runner, using the Tacoma model, engineering is never considered enough. I have a warn winch to add, tundra coils on front should hold the weight.

    Three weeks ago a intoxicated driver pulled out in front of me. I broadsided his vehicle at 40Mph. I have an ARB summit bumper on my Toyota Tacoma. While my front end did get damaged, I was still able to drive home and I did not get any injuries from the accident.

      Kevin Claire sorry to hear about the wreck but it sounds like the bumper did it’s job being the truck was still drivable!

      Thanks!! My insurance company is replacing my bumper. It’s in the shop now. I’m thinking about having them color match the new one to match my truck.

    Mine showed up - 333 lbs shipping weight. By the time I added an 85 lb winch, I dropped my nose 1-1/2 and had to upgrade to 700# springs (yes, I know there was about 70 lbs of packing materials). "Light weight" is not how I would describe ARB bumpers for Xterras. Agree with everything else you said :)

      George Toft they are still heavy but as winch bumpers go they are lighter than most I have worked with over the last 20 years of doing this

      What the hell do you expect. Replace a plastic bumper with a steel bull bar of course it is going to sink the front.

    • @Libertarian_Neighbor
      @Libertarian_Neighbor 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ronald Adams Most after market steel bumpers are about 150 lbs. The ARB at over 200 lbs is actually one of the heavier bumpers on the market nowadays. Didn’t use to be that way, but the newer off road companies are trying to cut weight everywhere.
      That said, I would still only use ARB.

    Great video. New subscriber here. I own a 2005 Tacoma TRD off-road 6 speed manual. Looking at this bumper and also the warn zeon platinum 10s winch. Doesn't say it's compatible with the bumper .but I'm going to add those two led lights like u have and remount the head unit from the winch and place it between the two lights on the bumper. That's my thought anyways. A little confused on how u explain the winch bolts up to the bumper.

    • @ozarkoverlandoutfitters9218
      @ozarkoverlandoutfitters9218  ปีที่แล้ว

      The winch will work fine with the Tacoma bumper. The Tacoma bumper along with other model arb bumpers the winch mounts to a cradle. The 80 series bumper along with other early model rigs the winch mounts to the face of the bumper. Changes were made for later model vehicles as they needed air bag capability. Thanks for subscribing!

    Does this weigh down the front enough that you will need a leveling kit I ordered one without the winch

    • @Libertarian_Neighbor
      @Libertarian_Neighbor 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Andrew Mclinden You will probably need stronger front springs on your coil over suspension. You should talk to someone on the phone who knows more than I do though. Wheelers off road would be one place that you could call and buy the springs from.

      Bryan Eder I started using the smittybilt winches about 4 years ago before that I swore by superwinch and warn. The smittybilt is made by the same people as t max an Aussie company and actually has t max name cast into some parts that can be seen when you take it apart and clock the gearbox for better lever positioning. I’m glad your enjoying and that’s for your support and interest
