    The Cruiser looks heaps better with the bar installed, it makes the vehicle look finished. Sounds funny the way you guys call them a bumper 😂. Down here they’re called Bull Bars or Hopper Stoppers (Kangaroo stoppers) 😂👍

    • @BradyAdventures
      @BradyAdventures  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I love it! I am officially changing what I call it to hopper stopper 😆😆😆 Thanks man! I was so happy when I got this on, really looks great, is super stout, and gives me pice of mind. No roos out here but plenty of white tail deer. Thanks for the comment from down under!

      Sorry it took me so long to get back to you! Rear bumper, absolutely, although it might be a while. I am hoping to pick one up late this year. Still a little on the fence about which one and I think the lead times for the options are pretty long. Thanks for checking us out! As soon as I can get past my currently busy day job I will be back to posting regularly.

      @@BradyAdventures no need to apologise, there's only so much time in a day! I recently bought an '02 Cruiser and have been checking out some bumpers. Sleep seems great but pricey. Looking forward to more videos!

  • @danielpauly3477
    @danielpauly3477 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Thanks for your video. I live in Melbourne Australia where these bars are designed and used to be made. I’m concerned with the fixings and might corrosion spray the bolts after fitting.
    I’m interested in how popular Landcruisers are over there. In Australia, they are the car that goes anywhere. I own a 96 80 series in mint condition and now have bought the 06 100 series in mint condition. Would love to hear your thoughts.
    Regards
    Dan

    • @BradyAdventures
      @BradyAdventures  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I spray everything on my rog with fluid film, it's a pretty populary anticorrosive. 80 serises and older cruiser are jard to find and very sought after here. up until a few years ago 100 series were easy to pick up cheap but the have really gone up in popularity, value, and it's getting harder to find them here without a lot of rust. I see good deals every now and then but the 100s are developing pretty serious cult status. thanks for checking us out

    5:58 you broke your drill bit because you were going too fast. when drilling steel you need torque not speed.

    • @BradyAdventures
      @BradyAdventures  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yep think your right and that particular drill doesn't have very good speed control. I'll keep that in mind for the next job thanks!

  • @iColorado303
    @iColorado303 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    So, you have to use the angle grinder to cutoff those pieces only on the 03+

    • @BradyAdventures
      @BradyAdventures  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I am having a little trouble locating the 98-02 instructions but I think that is correct that you only need to cut on the 03+ bumper. I spent a little time on ih8mud.com attempting to verify. You can always send an email to arb and request both sets of instructions and can compare.

    • @colinbecker6869
      @colinbecker6869 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The piece will need to be cut on all 100 series trucks

    I was wondering if the lights on my LX470 will fit the same way. Do you know if the bumper is universal for both?

    • @BradyAdventures
      @BradyAdventures  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      One thing there is a different bumper for 98-03 and 04-up. I believe the bumper fits the same years pretty much the same way except for the upper antenna mounts on the bull bar will interfere with the hood opening so you have to cut them off. I would search around on ih8mud to see what people ran into with the lx. Check out this page, guy posted pics of cutting the mounts and getting the bumper on his lx forum.ih8mud.com/threads/ikarus-lx470-offroad-build.965065/page-5#post-11320808

    • @garyeanes4747
      @garyeanes4747 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The LX has the turn signals in the factory bumper. The lights on the outboard side of the headlights are marker lights only. If you want them to function like they do on a LandCruiser, you'll need to scavenge the 3-way receiver off the factory turn signal in the bumper and do a conversion on each outboard marker light. You'll then need to splice the lines in. It's a bit more involved than what would be done on a LandCruiser. Also, the LX has the grill affixed to the hood. The LandCruiser grill is not part of the hood. As a consequence, you may need to mod the spacers (under the frame horn attachments) or mod the grill attachment arms to allow the grill to clear the bullbar when opening the hood. I have the Ironman version of this bumper (as do many others on Mud). I did those mods and it added another hour or two for installation. Completely do-able.

    Would this bumper fit on my 99 LX470? If so which model/part number is this bumper so I can order the right one....

    • @BradyAdventures
      @BradyAdventures  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't think this one will fit. If I remember correctly the earlier years of the 100 series have a different ARB bumper. It's similar but different. I would check out Ih8mud.com and search the 100 series forum you'll find tons of information.

  • @drewdinh
    @drewdinh 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    How do the blinkers work if you have an LX? The side markers on my LX are just constant amber and the turn signals are down next to the fog lights.

    Looking good man! I have been waiting for a video on this install for some time now, thanks for the great video. Maybe it's just me but I was surprised the spots that needed to be drilled weren't done already by ARB. Any chance you can post the Amazon link for the Bosch connectors you mentioned?

    • @BradyAdventures
      @BradyAdventures  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks man! I think the main reason they are not predrilled is the slight variations from vehicle to vehicle, so it allows for fine tuning the exact bumper position. I forgot that connector link but will post something late tomorrow. I am in spotty internet country 😁 if you don't here from me by tomorrow night shoot me a msg and I'll get back to ya.

    • @BradyAdventures
      @BradyAdventures  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      uh ok, it isn't a bosch connector it's a deutsch. I saw a guy using these and decided from now on if I ever thought I might need to disconnect the wires for maintenance or whatever I would use these. Wish I had used them for some of my dual batter install. There are lots of options for wire size and number of wires amzn.to/2VU8KsM sorry it took me so long to get back to you!
