kokanee have very soft mouths, that is why they kept popping off like that. You lose quite a few because they go crazy on the surface when hooked and the hook pulls out, its the same thing when we sockeye fish in the ocean here on the BC coast. Kokanee rods are very long/slow action, and when they troll for them they use rubber snubbers to reduce the pressure on the hook. You are correct, the state fishing guide does request that a fisherman not dispose of entrails in bodies of water. Though I don't believe it is a "regulation" more, a request. It is pretty easy to miss as well...as it is 1 tiny sentence in a fairly non-descript section.

Welcome to Colorado and all the resources it provides and offers. Hope you have a good hunt. Just an FYI regarding the trout in the stream. Brook trout are not protected. Keep as many as you the regulations allow. They’re an introduced species that force out the native trout..ie..cutthroat. Always release a native cutthroat as they have to compete directly with the brook trout that breed like rabbits and take over. You’re always doing yourself and the native cutthroat a favor when you harvest a couple of brookies.
You have to try the joes flies trout magnet them spinner will slay the trout in that lake it My go to in any new body of water to see what the lake has to offer cuz you can catch anything from a trout to a bass with the spinners

I don't like the skin. I'm probably the only person I know who doesn't. Everybody loves it, I know.....but, I'll pass. I butterfly the trout; put olive oil on inside and out. Once the fish heats up a little, the skin slides right off with a spatula. So easy. I love the way trout cooperate with you when preparing them to eat. You can do what you want with them, with ease!

TAcleoh joe I’m from Pueblo. it’s most definitely not Pueblo😂
Lived in the Colorado Rockies, fished mountain lakes for trout, and your assessment of correct about top water. Crushed em with the floating flies.
Lunker's TV channel Mr. Rob is in a learning lesson
Michael Dillard he puts one down next video lol
Welcome to Colorado and all the resources it provides and offers. Hope you have a good hunt. Just an FYI regarding the trout in the stream. Brook trout are not protected. Keep as many as you the regulations allow. They’re an introduced species that force out the native trout..ie..cutthroat. Always release a native cutthroat as they have to compete directly with the brook trout that breed like rabbits and take over. You’re always doing yourself and the native cutthroat a favor when you harvest a couple of brookies.
Thats a PERFECT place to FISH! PS I hope someone is sponsoring this video.
Where is this
This is probably one of my favorite videos of yours of all time ever
Needs some of that Everglades
You have to try the joes flies trout magnet them spinner will slay the trout in that lake it My go to in any new body of water to see what the lake has to offer cuz you can catch anything from a trout to a bass with the spinners
Stresses me out how he dosen't bring the fish on the bank, but just watches it try and spit the lure out.
Noé Franco omg yesss I was just like bro get the fish in instead of trying to identify it
Kick rocks guy. Don’t be mad cause you’re not doing this.
He is playing the fish until it tires out
When tin foil packet cooking a rainbow leave the head on and when the eye turns completely opaque white it’s perfect and won’t be overdone. You my sir are living the dream. Hopefully my next duty station will be Fort Carson.
I gotta roll my blunt up! I wasn’t expecting this video.
Bruh I see u saying something about a blunt jus about every video lmao😂😂🤙🤙
Yea but it’s “none of yo damn business”
@@jessedowell8858 wasnt talking to u bro lmao I live in northern Michigan it legal so before u start running ur mouth kno it was a joke and not even meant for u✌✌
Jesse Dowell thank you for knowing lol it’s none of they damn business
Levi Braund yupppp 😂 cause his videos give me GOOD vibes.
Welcome to my world. Grew up in CO and that was an average weekend for us.
What lake is this?
For some reason at 24:37 I thought my microwave went of so I paused the video.. cuz I’m home alone and was spooked.
It's a phantom from the cold, dark corner you never visit.
I always lower my drag fishing for kokanee. They love to run no matter the size and they're notorious for getting off so might as well play them out and have fun with it
“This makes me not want to elk hunt!” Had me dying man 😂 keep up the good videos man
Love the knee socks and shots, it is a look LFG♥️. Glad you met up with Scott and he helped you out identifying the fish. Be safe and good luck!🍀
Dangit, I hit that watch button ASAP, and was still the 85th 👍🏼 🙄
I love fishing so much but i haven't got the chance to go fishing for a long time.
These videos keep my spirits up and make my day bright!
When you throw the skin away, you are tossing the most flaverful part of the fish. Don't do that.
Ron Webb facts
We have speckled seatrout here and I don't know anyone that eats the skin but being that specs are saltwater/brackish species that might be the difference
Do you eat the skin on yr trout?
@@notyrmom5698 The only times I've had speckled seatrout was when I was living with my aunt and uncle and they always took off the skin
I love trout, it's one of my favorites, what I grew up with in Colorado, been fishing since I was 5.
Don't forget to thank the Almighty for His creation. Chaplain Gerber
Oh I'm pretty sure he does. Just doesn't necessarily advertise it (thank goodness). xo
I am wondering, why the government teaches us, that there is no God, don't you see what books in school teach, and what most every college professor pushes?
It's that there is no God.
But I have researched the supernatural half my life, and the conclusion is, everything scriptures say about Jesus Christ is the truth. Government is supposed to be our friend, but why is it pretty clearly pushes the no God agenda???
@@notyrmom5698 would it really have bothered you that much if he did?
@@scottryker4888 Probly not from LFG. There are def "good ways" and "not good ways" to represent one's position. Just seen too much pushed on too many in a negative way. I suppose I'm sensitive. Anyway, good question. Thanks.
Justin, you're killing me man. I have never seen anyone fishing for a meal play with and let a fish flop at the banks edge more in my life. I was glad to start seeing you sling them puppies up on shore!
If you had some rooster tails you would’ve caught your limit in 10 minutes.
I personally have the best luck on a little spoon colored like a rainbow trout.
Rainbow trout are my favorite fish to eat. I truly loved this video, can't wait until the next one!
Next time cook them with the head on. The little piece of cheek meat is worth it,
Recently met my log lost brother who lives in Colorado, planning a trio out there next year for some epic Mule deer and Elk hunting.
You know Coloradoans hate Texan Tourists, except for their money
Generally... it's tough to watch them fish for trout... embarrassing, and most are not like LFG, they leave their trash everywhere, and just don't care about Colorado conservation.
It's coloradans not coloradoans.
@@tatehoward8678 I'm a Texan, how should I know? 😃😃😄😄😅😅😉
@@tatehoward8678 maybe I was correct, doans, pain in the posterior
@@RKHarm24 I know 😂
I love seeing the true enjoyment u have in something new to you. Im heading to Colorado in about a month for a mule deer hunt and this just adds to my excitement for my upcoming adventure
