The second video in the series is here: • Shame: Engaging the No...
This video describes how shame gets taken into our personality system and can feel like it is at our core, like it is the "real me"; but is in fact held as a burden by a part of us. Other, protective parts feel compelled to ensure the shame doesn't get triggered; or quickly distract from it when it does by whatever means necessary.
Once identified this burdensome feeling and belief can be released using the IFS (Internal Family System) protocol.

My response to shame isn’t any of those acting out things. Instead, I become anxious and depressed.

Life changing / Amazing Videos - Will get results worth thousands dollars of therapy. I have done a lot of self-therapy (successfully) and haven't been able to get this one thing related to shame around poverty when I was growing up. Even tried therapy and that helped flesh things out but I couldn't solve. Doing this only once (I did it over 2 days and repeated the third video twice) helped me make the shift I needed. Please make sure you watch all 3 videos. It will be worth it ! Thank you Derek and I hope everyone finds this as useful and transformative.

For years I have recognized the shame in me -- but didn't know how to release it. This 3-video serious has been incredibly healing for me ✨ Thank you for your guidance & generosity, Derek 🙏

Want to add that it is easy to listen to this without really "listening" and if it feels surface, that's because a person didn't "go there" with the material. If it begins to stimulate memories, understanding, and manageable discomfort, this is a good sign. I am completing this 3 months later and have a completely different and deeper experience this time because I am ready for it. Highly recommend listening at .75 speed, which makes all the difference, I just learned. Thanks and many many thanks, Derek Scott, for this generous gift for all to access!!

Thank you, Derek, for all your generous contributions about IFS therapy. Watching your videos and reading your writings has helped me a lot: now I got a sense that the proverbial "Know Thyself" can be systematically implemented in practice. Huge kudos to you, good man!

Great video! Especially because it mentions the self shaming that comes from not fitting stereotypes, which comes from cultural brainwashing.
In general, because of the mass dissemination of the western culture, not fitting the boxes mentioned in the video is extremely common.
Then there is also the issue of not fitting local/contextualised stereotypes too.

Thank you for this lesson I have practiced the meditation everyday it has helped me and it resonates very well with my belief in Integrated care and the value of autonomy and Self. I did struggle with shame, although I knew the origins it took time for the depth of this part to be available to me. Dr. Gabor Mate helped by explaining that being unable to be autonomous is also a shame on Self, ifs helps a lot, go raibh maith agat!! - ( thank you in Irish)

Thank you so much, Derek, for your work. You describe me too well in this video. I have lived my life in shame and fear with a huge core belief of not being good enough, this leads me to self-sabotage a lot and then hating myself for it all. I think I am finally getting a hold of it all and you have helped me in that healing process.

Hi there. It's been a year since you posted this message. I'm wondering how you have been doing since then. I'm just beginning to scratch the surface as far as dealing with my own shame. And boy, I feel I've been drowning in shame for a long time, just didn't know what to call it. Sorry for reaching out to a complete stranger, but I just wanted to know what you had to say about your healing process, how you dealt with your shame, perhaps in hopes you'd share some tips that would help me accelerate my healing process. Thank you
