    I always wondered whether Dr. Gabor Maté knows about IFS and Dr. Richard C. Schwartz
    this video answers my question.
    I tried CBT for Social anxiety for 20 years and I was left with social anxiety, fawning and people pleasing and toxic shame. IT did not help.
    IFS Model helps and Dr Gabor Mate, too.

      the same experience here , my social anxiety didn't improve untill ifs

      @@thebravespirit439 CBT is focused on symptoms. It cannot address trauma by shaming and nitpicking the by-products of abuse.

    What if you can't accept love and compassion, if it actually makes you sad and afraid, sometimes angry? Llkely due to disorganised attachment. Makes therapy really difficult in the way Gabor describes. Probably ifs would be more helpful here.
