    I've had a 45 ACP Witness-P since 1999. One of my favorites.

    Took my witness .45 to the range today and the guys working there basically laughed at it. They are all sleeping on this gun I love it

    I purchased a Witness-P Full size in 9mm as my very first pistol, and I have to say, I am absolutely in love with it. Being relatively new to the shooting sports, it has been a great little shooter. All of the skeptical "old dogs" who have handled it have been highly impressed. Now you can pick one up for $350 at Cabelas. Comes highly recommended from me for what it's worth.

    I bought my .45 Witness P back in 2002. I took it in to Magna-Port and had it ported back in 2012. That little alteration made it my favorite pistol to shoot. My only complaint is that I wish it had a de-cock lever. Not a big fan of thumbing the hammer down...

    I am a new member of the EAA family. I have the same gun but with a 4.4" barrel. I had one contact with EAA's customer service people, and I would give them a solid "A+" grade. Very happy with all aspects of this pistol.

    Loved my Carry P in .40 s&w. Ate anything you fed it. Probably put around 1200 rounds thru it, NEVER malfunctioned. Extremely reliable and easy to shoot.
    Thank you for the vid, sir!

    Tell you what, Sootch! I finally got a hold of the Witness-P full-size (4.5) in 9mm....and holy crap! Best buy on a gun I have ever made. The grip is nice, the recoil is awesome...and it's my carry! Has 4 mags and great high-volume! The weight is beautiful! Of course my buy was based off your review. Out of all the handguns I own and have owned...this has to be my favorite!

      I have a feeling, this will he my second favorite gun. My favorite of all time is a mark 23. The distance you can hit targets, with the mark 23 is insane. I grabbed the p carry witness, with 10mm barrel. very excited to shoot it. I always liked cz guns.

    I know this video is on the new polymer carry pistol. But I have to say, this brand and type of pistol is one of the best ones you can get for the price. I have a full size steal 9mm Witness that's right at 15 years old, and it still shoots like a champ. The pistol has had no problems in all the 15 years that its been in my family. My father has the full size steal frame 45 Witness and the same goes for that pistol as well. The pistol fits very well in a large or small hand, and is not too heavy. If you don't have one, get one. Even if its just to take to the range and play with every now and then. The only problem I have found is trying to find someone that carries items for it. The only luck that I have found is going onto buds website. Again, very good buy for the price and quality.

    You better hope you never have problems with it. I bought one about 20 years ago and kept having stovepiping and other problems. I don't remember the model but it was very similar to the SAR ST10. No one would touch it, the factory wouldn't even take it, and gunsmiths couldn't get parts for it, it ended up in the trash.

    s00tch, wanted to say thanks for making this review. I was really on the fence on purchasing an EDC pistol for protection and decided to pick the 10mm platform in the end. I just unboxed it today and did the preliminary rtfm and dry fire practice, etc. Will keep you posted on my experience as I go through the break in process. So you have another data point for others as well as yourself.

    My goodness I want this gun! The conversion kits make this gun so damn versatile. I'm going to buy this puppy and get both the 9mm and 22 lr kits. You could use this gun for all day long plinking with the 22lr kit, and even use the 9mm kit for other purposes (range and even carry). Each conversion kit is almost like getting a new gun.

    Great Gun! I put several thousand rounds through one at a LET Academy a few years ago and it was a smooth gun. Bought one and kept it for a while but the major complaint I had was it is nearly impossible to get spare mags even after markets like Mec-Gar. All in All it is a excellent gun and reasonably priced!

  • @MadMurdoc86
    @MadMurdoc86 11 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    The Armscor is a clone of the Tangfolio, licensed by them I believe. The conversion kits don't fit, there is about an eigth of an inch difference in the slide. It is just enough that they won't allow reassembly. I haven't seen any other than the 9's, but they are manufactured by Rock Island Armory. Very solid gun, just slightly different.
    BTW, my Witness Steel Compact .45 that I converted to 10mm rocks. It is my EDC. I used a Comp-Tac Holster for my P220 and it fits it well.

    The recoil looks about the same as my Colt 1911 45 acp. It is a very sweet looking fire arm. The review was excellent. I was happy to hear it took everything you fed it and never burp or threw up once. I might have to look into this fire arm. My wife thinks I have enough, I have five hand guns and she has one. Has I said never enough toys. Thanks

    I have the all steel version, while enough of a boat anchor to eliminate it from the CCW rotation it is an incredible range and bedside handgun. Out to 75' it is right on the button accurate, can shoot 6" groups at that distance from a rest, second only to my Ruger P90 in accuracy but that is a one trick pony gun so it probably doesn't really count. At 7 yards it is as accurate as my Glock 17L competition gun at half the cost, with the added bonus of 230 grain vs. 147 grain.

    Never seen that one before Sootch. You continue to bring out some interesting and less common firearms, etc. Great stuff. I like the reversed slide and the overall ergo look. Seems quality. +1 for the ambi-safety. Boo about 1 mag. I hate that. I bet another will run you $50 or something.

    I bought the 4.5 inch barrel 9mm version of this gun at rural king for $270. I've since put a few rounds through it and noticed that although the first shot is dead center, every shot there after is much less accurate. This is my first hand gun, and all I've ever shot before this was mostly just .22 so its most likely user error. Any thoughts on what the problem may be?

    • @KingLeek86
      @KingLeek86 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      More than likely it is user error. All it takes is practice...practice...and MORE practice. Keep going at it...the accuracy will start to get better as you go on and learn to handle the caliber. Like you said...you're used to 22....a very light load. It's like going from a prius to a 6 cylinder full size sedan...it will be different.

Long story short, i picked a full size 45 Witness up in trade and have to say it is a Fine Weapon! LPA Sights, Mec-Gar Mag.... I like the fact that one can change calibers, that's a big Plus to me!

    I have to get mine out onto the range. Hope it feeds right. It seems like a real fine quality piece but if it doesn't function then they didn't finish research and development. I really like the size and feel and think it might be more comfortable then others for carry.

  • @EAACorporation
    @EAACorporation 14 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    @tac94540 ~ We stand behind our products, but we do need to physically see the gun in the service department to determine the problem/repair. If you are the original owner, there is a lifetime warranty, and you would not have to pay for labor. If it is a used gun, then a labor charge would apply unless it was a manufacturer's defect.

    Nice review. Davidsons Gallery of Guns is offering these Tanfoglio Witness P .45 models on sale in blued finish and several outlets around the west Michigan area are selling them for $337.00 out the door. Hey guys just putting this out there just purchased the carry in .45 act this gun groups amazing I'm a novice shooter by no means am I a good shooter but walked out 7 yards standing I put 10 rounds in 4 in group... i never do that but I also had 2 failure to feeds in the same mag (reloaded ammunition) I've never had had a hangup with this ammo before I've shot 400 rounds of it and never a fail so I decided to try another couple mags and same problem... I'm praying it's just a break in period, so I'll Continue to keep putting rounds through but I can't complain about the accuracy. . I'll try some winchester white box in the next day or two keep everyone posted but if I can figure the failures out this gun is amazing for the price *336 out the door at my local gunshow might just buy the 9mm if it works out

    Thanks for your enthusiastic and informative review. Could you please comment on the trigger shape, i.e. the fact that the trigger is wide, flat, and serrated? I recently almost bought this pistol, but seeing the trigger stopped me, because I understand that such a trigger is optimal for single action target shooting when the shooter is applying very slow and deliberate pressuring using the tip of the trigger finger. If correct, why did EAA/Tanfoglio put such a trigger on a CARRY model?

    I have the Witness P S in a 9 mm. The gun smith that works on my firearms, stated that out of all my firearms, I favor this one best of all. First of all its not a 40 acp or 45 auto. Itooms exactly like them until one looks at the barrel. The accuracy is what is unbelievable. I am now thinking of the gun show and purchasing a witness 40 acp. I did think about a S&W MP 40, but I'm sure I'll stay with the witness. Thanks for the good review. Take care and be safe

    From what I have read on forurms that he 10mm is the only one that has this issue UNLESS if you bought one fo the 9mm up to 45acp model then bought the conversion to 10mm then I heard those crack allot faster and easier than the ones that came from the factory as 10mm Which goes against what I believed that all these pistols had the same frame off the assembly line and the only difference was what slide they put on it. All being said thier compact version is on my buy list.

I wanted a 10mm, .357 or .44 Magnum Semi. Any advantage going 10mm vs one of the magnums? Looks like 10mm ammo is hard to find.

    @usmccampbell23 - Easy their trooper. Glock makes great guns - Sootch even mentioned that. The comparison he made was in ergonomics - which is what a lot of people have problems with when it comes to glocks. If you don't have large hands glocks feel like your holding onto a brick. This is the reason I went with an EAA Witness instead of a Glock 29. Having a weapon fit your hand well adds to the overall performance of the weapon.

    I got the full size 10mm, compact 10mm and compact 9mm versions of this gun...Really like all of them. They shoot buttery smooth...Oh yea, I also have that Glock 30 but heavily customized. Lol

    Great review. I'm looking for a smaller conceal/carry pistol. I'm a woman with smaller hands, and trying to get a secure fit has been tough. If I can find this weapon in one of the local gunshops, I'll certainly give it a test drive!

    $302 for the Poly compact! $550 for Stainless Match version. Great Prices.
    How is the stock sight & trigger compared to CZ?
    How is parts quality, and Fit & Finish? (i've heard the Match versions are wonderful.)

    does the trigger guard beat up your fingers? On mine, the middle knuckle on my middle finger fits right up in that notch behind the trigger guard. Every shot drives it into my knuckle. That gets old really quick.
