A mechanic at my old MF dealership was using a chisel to try to spread open a tractor hub, and like you said, flew out like a bullet! To this day, that chisel is embedded in the insulation of the shops ceiling! 😂
Or whatever you have laying around for the jack? Last time I added oil I grabbed the bottle off the shelf clearly marked hydraulic jack oil and topped off the jack in question before discovering at some point the bottle now held chainsaw bar sauce…. After draining the porta power pump it was filled with regular hydraulic juice.
That one decided to fight to the end. My grandpa would loosen the bolts and go plow a while to loosen them up before he tried to move the hubs. But flat tires kinda makes that idea not possible
That looks like it was a royal P.I.T.A.!!!!!!! I changed a wheel center on a 400 Farmall this morning, not near as much work as you went through! Never had a tractor with splined axles and not running out to buy one either! That much anti-seeze would probably cover you head to tow three times over.
I’m pretty disappointed in that you actually used a big hammer 😂. I would have thought the 4x4 would have been the correct tool to use as a hammer. Success is so sweet. Have a great day
Hello Ross, Great display of adaptability, to get ur done, what is your plan for silver colored fiat ???? Is that project waiting for warm weather?? It would be great to see that tractor come to life again, Thank-you for your quality content.
Use shorter strokes and let the pump get filled with oil. 10w motor oil or 10w-30w will work. Thick oil just will not flow into the pump as well. When you get to the end shorter strokes will make the fallout not as dangerous. Different strokes for different folks. BTW, If you break any more stuff today, I am going to turn the Sun off for 4 minutes and 30 seconds today so everyone should put money in the big kettle in front of me or I will turn the sun off forever. Aww Hell, I am going to do it anyway. We are dead center for the maximum amount of totality for the eclipse of 4-8-24. We went to the Garden of the Gods in So. IL. and was in the totality of the eclipse. Traffic after the eclipse will be bumper to bumper leading away from the path of totality when the event is over. We are going to our daughter's resort 4 miles south of here for an eclipse party.
It was to bad when Ross was JACKING OFF his wheel that his shaft was not long enough to complete the job the first time but after repositioning things he was able to completing his JACKING OFF the wheel without having to BEAT IT OFF the axle with a hammer
Please keep making these videos

You are very creative that’s what I like so much about your videos
That hub was a battle of sadness to the end. Sometimes hard-fought battles give you a sense of success despite the frustration.
The true definition of a struggle! Wow glad to see that hub was safely removed.
Thanks John!!
Thumbs up
Thanks!
Congratulations Ross on your JACKING OFF SUCCESS!!!🤣🤣🤣👍👍

The wrong oil is always better than no oil. 😂😂😂
🤣🤣🤣
Ok 😁 Great job . RUST is the problem. SO you need a way to put a bucket on the axel cover and soak it in Evapo rust remover. thanks
Whew, that was a tough one. I was afraid for a minute there you were going to have to bust the hub to get it off. Congrats.

Great video Ross! Great jacking by the way
🤣 Thanks!
Lots of hard work!!
Great job and video Ross. You had a tough battle, but you won out. I like the vision you have for this guy. Congrats.
Wow what a struggle bus that was,but you won without any animal noises, darn it anyway
Thanks Doug!
Persistence pays off. Progress is a good thing especially when you have a vision in the end.
You can use ATF transmission fluid in the jacks too
Glad you were able to get that hub off! Always good to see the oz'er in the video :)
Always like a happy ending......

They make vertical/horizontal bottle jacks. They are a little more expensive.
A couple of years ago I saw someone on TH-cam convert a jack for horizontal use. Of course I forgot it in a couple of days, but it can be done.
Try power steering fluid it's thin and made for high pressure
Nice video Ross

Have dryed air jack hydraulic ram bud or heat it up bit

Buddy!!!! 🐕
I almost thought this was going to be an R rated video from the title Ross! 😂 Glad you had success getting the hub off!! 😊
Much sadness in that hub! Don’t forget
the eclipse cow video! Will they mow?
News at five!
Git 'er Dun!!
What about an air chisel? Maybe giver some heat and then air chisel away?
Maybe but that probably would just bust chunks out of the cast.
Michel Jackson said it best just beatit just beatit!!!
On a pot a power the jack sets level on the ground , a hose goes to the cylinder. I'm sure that is the difference. What about a screw jack?
Good job. I interested in seeing how you get the steel wheels off.
Ross, could you put a zerk on a single-acting tool cylinder then use a grease gun a s a "remote" pump?
I could have went all day without seeing that subtitle.
👍👍👍👍
When you put the wheels back on, put the tread facing the other way. Just asking.
He had them on backwards to get it off the trailer.
Well how did you get crud in the tractor hub, don’t you wash your tractor every time you use it
🤣🤣🤣
There seems to be a lot of Knutson in your life, just and observation not judging.
🤣🤣🤣
“Almost beat my average”.. 😂 should’ve just stuck with one hand tho. Now both your shoulders and wrists will hurt like hell tomorrow!
🤣🤣🤣

don't they call that tip a rosebud tip?
That’s what I know it as.
Don't use more force, just get a bigger hammer.
