Hi! I’m half Bengali half Japanese who used to live in Bangalore for 9 years and now, living in Tokyo. Even though I’m Bengali, I’m more familiar with South Indian food and I miss them a lot! There are lots of North Indian food in Tokyo but not much South Indian (becoming popular though) and also it’s expensive to eat idli or dosa (especially knowing the price in india). So I’ve been learning through my friends or by watching TH-cam how to cook all those food I miss. And I think your video is great! Small tips helps as I don’t know too much about Indian cooking. Thank you so much!!!
i always sanitize my hands befor mixing any thing , curd rice the rice is mashed and mixing curd to it is easy and the result is much better with hands and you wont be left with any lumps
We Know, Chef... You Don't Bother Those Silly Hypocrites, Who Often Taunts And Throw Tantrums Over Anythin' And Everythin'... Coz, Unlike You They're Disabled In Any Skills... And, By The Way, I Love Your Every Recipes... And, The Way You Demonstrates It... Oh My God... It's Sinfully Sweet And Understandable, Even For A Kid... My Best Wish, For Your Successful Future Ahead...
You are great and your food is superb. Don't get disturbed by silly comments about mixing the food with your hands. These critics are ignorant and lack basic culinary knowledge. You are a cooking star. Keep it up.
Thank you for the recipe! I made this yesterday (with a few extra ingredients) and it turned out wonderfully. I've been following you since day one and you never fail to disappoint! Next on the list: lemon rice.
My mom used to make all of these dishes for me, but she is gone now. Thank you Vachchef for reteaching me all these flavors there is nothing better than a south indian home-cooked meal.
Brilliant! I cooked it for breakfast at home and everybody absolutely loved it. It scored on all points: healthy, tasty and minimal cooking. I think the additional information you give about why certain measures are important help us better proportion the ingredients. For e.g. When you said that no flavor should dominate and one should only out in a pint of each was very helpful. Very few recipe vids share the reason behind the steps. Thanks a lot, all good wishes.
hai Sir, how happily u r eating the food after finishing the dish.I like that and that's the confidence in u .yes I cook the perfect dish.that's the confidence I saw in my husband after I Cook the same dish .tq for posted the cooking items .
People love hand pressed and hand tossed pizza...but complain Sanjay using his hands to mix food. He is pro chef, he knows the importance of safe food handling. Keep rocking Sanjay
Yes, this is very good. I was in Hyderabad working and the curd rice even in the factory canteen food was the way to finish the meal really well I never made it with tempering so will do that next time.
Sanjay...u r too good...it's raining cats and dogs in Bombay and now I feel to have curd rice...way to go...after seeing ur recipe straight to the kitchen...luv watching ur recipes along with u
I love Vahchef. His onscreen personality is so amiable and smiley. I have cooked his eggplant peanut curry thing and butter chicken, delicious recipes.
The first time I ever had curd rice is when I was having prasadam at Varadaraja Perumal Temple, and I prayed hard to find the recipe. God must have come in a dream and said, "Go to vahrehvah and type in 'curd rice.' " Thank you Sanjay bhai for this yummy recipe. Tastes great with mango pickle!
daddojanam is what it is called @ coastal andhra, have seen pomegranate seeds added to this dish @ Bangalore hotels and tastes great with them , your presentation changed a lot down the lane and your lingo too , few yrs back came to know that " the way to reach man's heart is through stomach" when your better half madam " queen Victoria " too has got cooking background and that make you guys a perfect couple , you are blessed with all the amateurs @ cooking and foodies ...God bless
Your culinary skills are too good. I love it too much. Whenever my wife asks me to cook I come to you. My wife wonders how I make it so yummy. There is tremendous resemblance between you and my friend Mohan Nair.
hey i think adding black pepper to the seasoning would be much better and one more thing u can even add grapes r pomogranate seeds for garnishing it really taste's yummmyyyyy...
A suggestion; you could have added dried grapes, cashews, pomegranate, perhaps a bit of badam as well....my mother does so and it tastes wonderful. Thanks for the tip about the sour cream...will try it next time.
@Skylinerev I have faced few issues as an Indian in the UK but people like u also prove that there are always people with good heart with a willingness to accept people from different community. Thanks u loved an Indian food receipe mate..

Dear Chef, Namaskaram Thank you for posting this ancient recipe. It is a truly a divine dish. It is especially good with a side of fresh mango slices. Sometimes, for extra Vah, we also mix grated or small cubes of seedless cucumber at the end and garnish with finely grated raw carrots. When asked for advice on healthy vegetarian eating I recommend your videos. Blessings. Swami Divyananda Saraswati
@dylebob1 - Thats right. Only thing to remember is just to make sure your hands are clean :). And you know what? Indians generally tend to feel the food while cooking - it increases the taste somehow - lol. In fact, I have noticed that whenever you cook something with passion you tend to use your hand (ofcourse wherever possible) for mixing. I have observed this in my favorite chef - Mr Oliver as well.
Thank you sir for making cooking so easy. I,m very found of cooking , but as i,m working i wont be able to satisfy my childs demand but whenever i have holidays i,ll see that her tummy gets satisfied. U make me do that thank u once again.
