Oh that song was so good. I was jammin. I didn't even want to include the song in the review because if someone hadn't played the game yet I wanted them to experience it for the 1st time themselves.
Funny story! If you get the Rambley Mascot head and go to the Information Kiosk (I think thats how you spell it) There will be a DSAF reference

About an hour ago, the funds for chapter 2 reached its funding goal, 50k! Theres definitely going to be a chapter 2!

One gripe I have with the game is something I think I’d have a problem with either way, and it’s just the park’s size. On one hand, I love that the park actually feels like an amusement park, there are buildings you can enter just for the atmosphere, there aren’t dozens of annoying invisible walls or convenient fences blocking out entire sections, it’s also refreshing to see something that isn’t so confining. On the other hand, it’s size is also an issue. The stores you can explore only have one collectible tucked in the corner and the shops could’ve had more decorations and little jokes, maybe hints of lore here and there. Also it just adds a lot of time between objectives and gameplay. I’m sure this will be something that’ll be fixed overtime as we get deeper into the park. Also, another note, the death screen with Molly feels misleading. Like, I thought she’d imitate Rambley and you’d have to ignore her, but whatever she does say is buried under the music and now she won’t be a reoccurring villain so her ability won’t be expanded on. Aside from that, overall I appreciate what it does, I love seeing all the passion the animators have, listening to the awesome song at the end, everything about this game is just bursting with passion. I’m looking forward to seeing what they do moving forward.
Absolutely. I do agree with you that the surrounding areas could have more to do. Like you are at an amusement part so more mini games could be fun. It could be a really fun way to hide lore in the mini games like they did with the arcade machine. I have faith with their Kickstarter succeeding that they will be able to expand these ideas big time, or at least I hope so. Thank you for watching! 😁
This game is the best kind of introduction to a game, they show off the atmosphere, teach you about the characters, and give you some puzzles to get you ready for the harder puzzles later, my only problem is that i wish there was more horror but rambly makes up for any kind of criticism

I really like the creator and the game, but as an Unreal Dev as well and a beginner too, there are some issues that could be easily solved like the hands moving with too much delay that make it feel bad and that could be adjusted literally by changing the camera lag speed value to something smaller. The camera shake is pretty bad and it doesn't coincide with the running animation. The camera FOV changing is made by pressing left shift instead of actually when you're running, and then the flashlight works even when it shouldn't. Those are all the issues I found while playing the game, but the rest is pretty good and it's a big risk that he made it free. I hope more chapters will come!
Ya the game isnt perfect but it sets great groundwork for the series. Its awesome to hear from another dev as I dont have a ton of knowledge on what goes into making a game and its mechanics so Im always excited to learn stuff like that. Thanks for watching!

I am supporting the developer. I really like the game is such hight quality project with a lot of passion put into it. My biggest issue with this game is lack of horror, the game is just not scary.
Ya its not that scary and the dev admitted on his launch stream that it wasnt that scary and that he wanted to add a lot more horror elements into the sequel. Which is cool to me. This is a good way to introduce the world and the characters and now we see where it goes from here!

Only problem is it’s that too generic for a mascot horror gam3 as it follows too many beats from other games and it’s not scary at all. I hope we get those improvements next chapter.

The developer has said himself that it wasnt as scary as he would like it to be and he wants to make chapter 2 scarier. I think considering he made it as a college student with his own money and its pretty much his 1st game. Thats impressive.
This is basically Geese's first actual game, so its great as far as things are concerned. You cant be comparing it to the big names just cause its the same genre

I feel an 8 was far too generous to what this game had to offer.
I love the idea of indigo park, the level design voice acting aestetic etc. But the thing you left out is the gameplay, there is nothing special here aside from the minigame with the arcade, it's essentially a walking sim with the odd scare and mid puzzle sprinkled in. Is this a bad thing? Yes, no, kinda??
I think they spent a great deal of time fleshing out the world and generally trying their best to make the world immersive and interesting which is good but they forgot to make the gameplay fun and engaging.
That being said i donated to the kickstarter and i am very much looking forward to seeing what they do with chapter 2 and beyond
That is fair. I think for a game made by pretty much a 1st time dev on a limited budget it was very impressive. Yes the gameplay could of been better but I guess I wasnt expecting blow away gameplay from it due to that limited budget. But because I enjoyed this one so much I will def hold chapter 2 to a higher standard. Thanks for watching!
@@angriergamingI mean when you think about it, Chapter 1 of IP is kind of comparable to chapter 1 of BATIM, both have minimal gameplay elements aside from puzzles but both have set up an interesting world for us to explore and find secrets through
Exactly. this is just a base game that sets up a world and a storyline that could be really cool. Now that they hit the goal on Kickstarter they can finally try to bring that to life and expand this world out.
@@angriergaming Absolutely, and maybe with any money Mason gets from after the kickstarter ends we could see other things come out of Indigo Park. Like, something I thought was a good idea, a little cartoon with Rambley and the cast like what MOB kind of did for the Smiling Critters
That would be great. I thought that the Smiling Critters cartoon and the Smiling Critters in general were really well done so that would be a really cool addition to this series also.

This review is way better the theft game because you actually gave a review without complaining 80% of the time and not calling it a ripoff but just inspired by it and not comparing the environment of the game to other when it’s hard to make a different environment like the play house so I of course subscribe to you Good review! (and it wasn’t 30min)
Thank you so much for the subscription and the the compliment. I try my best to stay neutral and not compare games because I don't think it's fair. Sometimes it's hard, like in a series of games you will compare them to each other but I don't think it would be fair to compare this game with the likes of say Poppy Playtime or Garten of Banban because they are different games with different universes and I want to treat them that way. In terms of the actual runtime I think I said it was about 45 mins to an hour and I think that's about right, my playthrough was about 51 mins I believe. Of course different people could complete it faster or slower depending on if they get stuck in an area or if they just sprint through the whole game 1st trying everything. But again thank you for the compliment, it means a lot and I hope to put out a lot more reviews in the future!

Thank you so much! Sometimes I can be critical. Like with the Gollum game & Rise of Kong and a few others. But I don't try to be super critical and rant too much. I have to really dislike a game for that to happen haha.
You can tell this was a passion project and not another cheap jump on the bandwagon of mascot horror

There is for sure room for improvement but Ive played many indie horror games from 1st time devs on a minimum budget and this has probably been 1 of my favorites. So I guess that factored into my score too. Im excited to see where this series goes which is one of the things a 1st game in a series should do, is get you excited for the future. And I do agree that this is a really good pilot and hopefully they keep improving and make chapter 2 the best game possible. Thanks for watching and for the sub!

(I'm no game dev, so i may be completely wrong). This game looks like it'd be pretty simple to port to console, so maybe in the future, it could definitely happen
I think he said he would love to but it wasn't in the plans right now. I'm paraphrasing of course. I do agree that it shouldn't be that hard to port over but I also don't know what kind of steps you have to go through to do that since I'm also not a game dev haha
