Absolutely. To start at an advanced age and win races is very very rare indeed. The man won 4 races in a row at age 51! And had it not been for a late brake issue at Wilkesboro, it would have won 5.
@@scottwolf497 That North Wilkesboro Sunday is My worst sports memory of my life. Dominated all day. O-ring failure with 9 to go. Destroyed this 15 year old's week.
Two years later and Gant is still not in the H.O.F.! At this point his omission is egregious. You can't write NASCAR's history without Gants iconic "Bandit" persona, his success in his late 40s, early 50s. He is one of the most well-liked, well-respected drivers in the sports history. Plus, he had great success in the Busch Series!! The man is in his mid 80s! Get in him the HOF! There should be a petition at this point!
The fact that Harry Gant isn't in the NASCAR H.O.F. is an absolute shame.

Tim Richmond too
I sure miss the asphalt at Dover and Bristol, awesome and unpredictable track conditions, awesome racing
Harry Gant at the age of 52 wins a 500 mile race at Dover, that's incredible!
I was there that day. What a fun time.
