@@johnjohnston974 There have been decks with the white season that won large tournaments. The others dont seem to be around in any of the winning decklists. It seems to be because certain decks literally cant win against certain indestructible creatures (preacher of the schism for example)
@michaedove3562 yeah, a lot of the exile removal went away with rotation for standard. Still waiting to see if other seasons are for jank decks or real decks.
You talking about copy paste stuff you find online? I shit all over you meta kids be careful following trends when you go up against actually good players.
@@thefreshproduce you sound upset, lose a few too many games against meta decks i'm guessing. sorry to tell you but your 'funny tribal pile' or whatever you're playing just ain't gonna cut it against a synergistic deck filled with best cards from all sets. keep trying though, always nice to get some free turn 2 wins ; )
I played black village at the prerelease. Thought it was good as a free value. Hated it almost every time I got in my opening hand... Maybe you should think of them as spells and not lands and play 17 lands + any potential Village. They would be much better if this set had common duals.
the problem is that 9/8 isnt actually a good manabase. with 8 sources you'd have around a 86.5% chance of being able to play a 1 drop in that color, and around a 89.8% chance to play a 2 drop in that color. that sounds a lot better than it actually is. You'd generally want at least around 9 sources each for mana to actually be okay. (double spelling and double pips -> even more) Edit: to whoever complained about my numbers, first of all, nummys boros deck had eight 1/2 drops (you'd want 9 sources, and yes I know, not all of them are meant to be cast on curve), a double red three drop that he did cut (you'd want 12 sources), and 4 double red/white 5 drops (you'd want 10 sources), all numbers I took from Frank Karsten, who certainly knows more about statistics than neckbeards on youtube. I fixed my earlier numbers, originally did it by memory. Its not like Im saying nummy did anything wrong, this set has almost no fixing, not his fault.
LSV also said in one of the latest LR podcasts that 9/8 manabases are indeed not good enough. Good to know that you have an average chance of getting screwed 1/10 of your hands (which is a lot!) - because I used to get very tilted every time I was mana screwed 😅
@@paulonavarro7095 I didnt listen to that episode, but LSV is right of course, and modern limited usually does expect you to do something the first 2 turns. people who say limited starts on turn 3 clearly havent played the last couple of formats. the times where you can start a game with a 3/4 drop are long gone (unless its a boardwipe) though I guess LSV mostly plays vintage cube so he has less to worry about in terms of manabase, cause vintage cube has fantastic fixing of course.
I just got my first 7-0 with? You guessed it! Frogs 😂 they are sooo good
I know your not a fan of the villages but how do you feel about the red in particular? With it's valiant synergies
Love the content!
Draft - go second constantly and never get that 3rd mana.
red rocks me

They must have messed with the shuffler. Flooding out way more often. I pulled 11 lands out of 14 cards in a game last night..
The shuffler has been giving me the all one color land hands too, alot lately.. I'd really like to see their algo for the starting hands.. Feelsbadman
Whats funny is that the only one that's made it into standard is the white season.
For now. Black decks are playing the season. Blue decks are trying the season. But bo1 meta is still all aggro.

@@AlkonKomm exactly, he was talking about cube (in general) and how fixing is important, and why he always prioritize fixing
