Game 1 really demonstrates how bad the blue red archetype is in this format. They had 2 of the best possible answers to your early game plays and they still just couldn't gain enough momentum in the late game. Whoever thought that Playful Shove should be sorcery speed has committed some kind of unforgivable sin. I think the drafting part of this set is really fun. I enjoy formats that reward drafting a cohesive deck over a format that allows for a pile of individually good cards. However, the games themselves are really just about who goes first and curves out in the early game. There's also just so many more rare cards hitting the board at every point in the mana curve that so many games snowball so quickly.
This whole series of matches was a desperate search party for Plains. Lesson learnt is the Village land cards are a trap and you need 10+ plains if you have double white pip cards.
@@pistolpete7422 Yep, just pretty much creatures go smash set. Lack of fixing, strict color pairs archetype, quite the adjustment coming from the previous 3 sets.
@@thor82akthat makes me sad to hear! I havent been able to draft regularly in years butttttt I do tend to gravitate to splashable/fun sets with high replay value ❤
@12:26 hmmm interesting, I would have thought For the Common Good to be the best card to pick. Lifegain and all tokens are indestructible, you had lots of token makers. Ah well :)
Not taking Patchwork Banner in a token deck where almost every one of your creatures could benefit was a WILD move. Carrot Cake mythic common confirmed.
I was not sold on the cake at first but it is actually very good. It doesn't stabilize well on its own but it goes a long way towards avoiding floods and setting up good draws.
Are you also annoyed by Plumecreed Mentor, Fireglass Mentor, Lilysplash Mentor, Tidecaller Mentor, Seedglaive Mentor, Starseer Mentor, Vinereap Mentor and Wandertale Mentor? 😅
I don't know, format looks pretty fine to me. Outlaws and MH3 were just so full of swingy bomb cards, that synergy didn't matter much, hated those. In Bloomburrow synergy matters a lot, but you gotta be fast. I think that premise is a lot more fun than just crossing your fingers your opponent doesn't draw his game-ending haymaker they could easily splash a fourth color for.
the betting has opened: how many weeks til we get a Kaizo video? the under over is 4 weeks. I got the under [ this assumes that Kaizo becomes more likely the worse a set is. I'm also on record betting this is closer to a 50 draft format, than a 150 draft format]
Your reactions in these games is the same experience I've had with 3 drafts of this format. Didn't curve out 1, 2, 3, 4? Scoop. Cause your OP did. What a bad format, 1/10 from WotC this time IMO. No balance with this bad boi.
It's still being underdrafted right now. I keep getting forced into rabbits when I really just want to try frogs or lizards. I mean.... I'm ok with free wins but you really have to take what is open in this format.
The sooner you pull a Kibler and leave Magic the better off you'll be. Game has done nothing but go downhill when every card is a bomb and has 400 lines of text.
What are you talking about? Kibler and Olivia have an entire channel dedicated to playing magic with people. They partner with Wizards to get product early and he still follows the tournament scene. He just doesn't make arena content.

I’m not sure why he was running so many forests. I didn’t see any double green.
Should have played 17 lands, having the village and two of the +1/+1 mana sink rabbits as flood protection.
That game against gruul was insane dude, thanks for the vid.
Daaang solid deck. Yeah I think this format doesn't have too much variety & comeback strats like OTJ and I felt WOE too.
I asked myself this same question today after getting beat tf down by back-to-back rabbit decks.
Limited in this set is unforgiving, you cannot come back very often.
This set feels like shit

2:49 “this is a thumping start” for the rabbits 😂

Carrot Cake mythic common confirmed.
That's a very tough call indeed, but I think Carrot Cake number 2 leads to more consistent wins rather than a few explosive wins
Pretty sure that was a blunder. The banner is also fixing/acceleration in addition to being an excellent anthem.

Lol with first pick season yes
That first game was crazy
Thanks for the content. Great work everyday.
2:53 A hopping good start.
I've been having a lot of fun with my white blue rabbit deck
gotta give a like for the algorithm
yes, yes promote the rabbit agenda so I can keep all the squirrels to myself :))
Taking Dewdrop over For the Common good was a wild a gle though
7th pick pawwpatch? while u doing rabbit? are you kidding me? that's an insult almost! xD gg
44:29 Euphoric Rabbit Response
Azure beastbinder kills burrowguard mentor... wow OP
the fact that Burrowguard Mentor's does not have Mentor annoy me to no end. Its in the name
Are you also annoyed by Plumecreed Mentor, Fireglass Mentor, Lilysplash Mentor, Tidecaller Mentor, Seedglaive Mentor, Starseer Mentor, Vinereap Mentor and Wandertale Mentor? 😅
The singposts are all called mentors because they're supposed to depict teaching the young animals how to do what they do
This format reminds me of OG zendikar . Fast and agressive
Got my first trophy with a golgari mixed bag of frogs/squirrels and a few rats. The frogs bouncing the rat intimidator won me a stale mate game.

I keep thinking that Polliwallop is a takeoff from Mollywop
One might say a hopping start
Rabbits are goblins on this plane
I like GW splashing frogs and/or mice.
Lilysplash Mentor is always such a tempting splash in any Green+X I swear they named it that for this reason.
I guess you could say you hopped right into the bunny deck, Kenji.
I’ll see myself out.
Numot you could have said this start is hopping
😂
Not a big fan of this format, I am quick drafting MOM untill I have no other choice but to jump intp BLB.
👍🏻
if i don't watch the video i'll never know the answer
24k start to the draft
Incorrect take. Rabbits are not the nuts. 17/41 is the nuts.
Keeps a full white hand with no plains and is confused why he keeps losing in the format XD
Won 7 games.
BAN THE BUN!
24:20 it was exactly lethal because they didn’t block haha
Not taking the banner nooooooooooo

So, 3 content creators posted rabbit draft videos on the same day. I guess the answer is yes.
It's still being underdrafted right now. I keep getting forced into rabbits when I really just want to try frogs or lizards. I mean.... I'm ok with free wins but you really have to take what is open in this format.
Wtf the trick over first strike 2/2 was dumb asf
this set sucks ass. Literal dice roll every game
It’s almost like… card games in general play like that. Weird.

Dudes never heard of a little game called Yugi-oh
