    Great video. Just getting back into building and flying after decades away. Was lucky enough to have Chuck Gill teach me and my father on our first build, Midwest Tri-Squire, back in the 70's in NJ. Building the 182 Cessna and using your videos as great guide.

    Dude that thing is a showstopper! Wow. I love how modest you are in part 1 like yea it looks alright. You know darn well that it’s 🔥! Lol. After seeing your vids. I decided I’m going to re cover my new plane. For one the education I’m gaining and also to see the quality potential of what it could be compared to what it looks like now even if I were to patch the damage. I can’t leave it now. Lol.

    Nice work man....this bird looks awesome. Love how you cut out the letters...i love the simple technics you use. Sorry for asking....you were talking about a machine your wife bought...crysteck machine.....is it to cut out letters...what is that???

    • @BayonasRCWorld
      @BayonasRCWorld  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes a Cricut Machine which is used for cutting out letterings on vinyl sticker, iron on sheets, card stock etc. I used it to cut the letterings on monokote or any RC airplane covering. I have a short video here in the channel showing the Cricut machine it not much but a quick look at what I used.

    Nice job. I am preparing my self to re cover a giant size extra 300 wing span 104’ but I have no idea how to make the templates. Do you have a video showing how to make a template like those you show in this video? I am also wondering if the templates can be easily cut using a cricut machine???

    • @BayonasRCWorld
      @BayonasRCWorld  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Unfortunately I did not do a video on templates. However if you have large poster boards or cardboard you can trace a wing panel onto the cardboard and then draw in your design and cut it out with an Xacto knife. A cricut could make smaller templates, but you would be limited on larger cuts if trying to do it in one piece.

    • @mean1flyer
      @mean1flyer 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@BayonasRCWorld thanks for the quick response. I watched another one of your videos were you are covering the fuselage on this plane and saw how you made the templates. Very useful info. I believe i missed it while watching the build videos, but what engine did you put in the top flite 182 Cessna? Im just about done building my phoenix models 182 wich is almost the same size. I also have an old OS fs-61 on order for it so i am just curious.

    • @BayonasRCWorld
      @BayonasRCWorld  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I installed the Saito FG21 4 stroke gas engine with a 16x8 prop on the Cessna 182

  • @adelaseeri1892
    @adelaseeri1892 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Very good work my freind, I'd like to ask you with your other Ultimate 300 plane the one that crashed, did you determine a 100% that the elevator servo was at fault like did you test it, or could Transmitter or receiver be at fault just curious.

    • @BayonasRCWorld
      @BayonasRCWorld  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes the day of the crash once I returned home I did a full inspection of the entire aircraft and its electronics. The only damaged servo or locked servo is the elevator! All other servos works and has no issues. My lipo 2S pack has each cell balanced and the whole lipo with 98% charged left. All linkages were still attached to the elevator and rudder and ailerons.

      @@BayonasRCWorld great to know that you narrowed down the problem, I have one last question, I've got a OS75AX on my Topflight C182 and I'm thinking of taking it off and putting it into a YAK54 40 sized plane that I found online, do you think that it would work? Or would it be too much power? For the 182 I'm thinking of installing a 50cc chainsaw engine that I converted for RC.

    • @BayonasRCWorld
      @BayonasRCWorld  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@adelaseeri1892 for the Yak 54 40 size plane the OS75AX would work. Normal a 40 size plane requires a .40 to .90 2 stroke engine. What Cessna 182 model do you have? If it is a Top Flite Cessna 182 kit or ARF a 50cc gas engine is way too big for that plane. The Top Flite Cessna 182 is requiring a 90 to 120 4 stroke nitro so a 20cc is equivalent to a 1.20 4 stroke. You could probably go up to a 26cc but to be honest anything more would be a waste of a engine. My TF Cessna 182 weighed in at 14.8lbs and powered by a Saito FG21 4 stroke gas engine which is a 20cc engine and has more than enough power to fly the Cessna 182. So a 50cc gas engine would rip the plane apart for sure. But at the end of the day it really is all up to you for it is your plane however I have been doing this for over 38 years and I would not do it on my Cessna.

    • @adelaseeri1892
      @adelaseeri1892 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@BayonasRCWorld thank you for the reply it's great to know that a OS75AX would work with a 40 size plane, with regards to the Cessna 182 it's a Top flight build up kit just like yours and it has flown successfuly with the OS75AX, with regards to the 50cc engine the engine is a 50cc engine but it's not a dle, it doesnt have dle power😂😂 it's a Chinese chainsaw engine that I converted for RC its rated at around 3hp while it's not DLE power and unlike many chainsaw conversions this one is rock steady and has a constant pitch at full throttle no stuttering, the OS75AX feels like a hair drier compared to it😂😂 , I honestly made the conversion because where I use to live in Bahrain we had no RC plane equipment and the chainsaw was around 80dollars brand new and my freinds did the machine work for free, now I live in Australia and my family tell me to just get a petrol rc engine on the market, and I tell them it's not about the engine it's about the work, you can't tell an artist to just go to a shop and buy a painting, I converted the engine so I'd like to see it fly, it will have dle 20-30cc power and the plane will weigh as much as yours so I might give it a go, but the torque on it might be a limiting factor, whether the airframe can handle the torque, I don't know, still not 100% decided, might listen to you and pick another plane to test the engine.

      Frank I accidently deleted your last comment about using Dupli-color paints. Anyhow yes I have used Dupli-Color Acrylic Lacquer perfect match automotive spray paint. However this paint sprays on dull needing a automotive clear coat on top for that protective layer and shine. Alone it is not fuel proof or chemical proof like cleaners or nitro fuels.
