- Dancehall artist Rygin King is in a world of trouble in the USA after being caught and arrested with a loaded gun according to NYC Police department and local news sources and Vybz Kartel is still awaiting word from the Jamaica court of Appeals on weather he will become a free man or there will be a retrial or if he will even get bail at all. Omar Collymore recently convicted for taking his wife's life in Jamaica must now hear from his daughter and what she has to say to him in a heart wrenching letter and a man swept away during Hurricane Berly has now been found.

SouFLo, this is the first time I am hearing of 'Rygin King', but I certainly recognize his names and am sure I know from whom/where he formulated his name! 🤣
That man formulated his name from the names of two of Jamaica's most notorious criminals/murderers: 'Rhyging' and 'Whappy King'. Over the years {from the 40's and the 50's} people have misspelled the names: {Rhyging became Rhygin/Rygin} and {Whappy King became Whoppy King}.
My mother and father --- especially my mother -- was an avid crime buff, and I inherited it too! She used to tell me of famous crimes which happened when she was young --- before I was born.
Vincent Ivanhoe Martin {Rhyging} was a very famous criminal, known as 'The Original Rude Bwoy". He was always armed with two guns in the 1940's, at a time when very few citizens had a firearm. He was charged with a triple murder, along with other crimes. He was cornered in a motel in downtown Kingston, and was shot and killed by the police in 1948. The Jimmy Cliff movie "The Harder They Come" {for which Cliff also sang the theme song} was loosely based on his life, and Jimmy Cliff's character was named Rhygin in the movie.
Aston 'Whappy King' Jolly was wanted for a slew of crimes, including robbery, rape, assault and murder. He became most notorious for the attack on a couple on the beach on the Palisadoes Road which leads out to the Norman Manley Airport {known as the Palisadoes Airport then} in 1951. He bludgeoned the male to death, raped and bludgeoned the female, but she survived, luckily. He was captured, tried, convicted {she testified against him} and hanged at the St. Catherine prison, in 1952. From his history came the well-known Jamaican saying, "From Whappy kill Fillup",meaning "A long time ago". Therein is the history of the name {I believe} Rygin King!

They did not strictly follow the details of the real killer, that is why I said the movie was 'loosely' based on the story of the 'Original Rude Bwoy'. They used 'Ivan' from a part of his middle name 'Ivanhoe', but the crime spree was also loosely based on Rhyging's life.

You know, there was a time in JA during the 1970's when there was a severe food shortage of certain staples, such as rice, flour and cornmeal. Along with rationing how much each person was allowed to purchase, merchants did what was called 'marrying' products where you could not get one to buy without buying the other.
One comical 'marriage' which existed then and which made news headlines was the marriage of rice {limited to 1lb.} to a pack of sanitary napkins! The Jamaican-made brand name was Safex {not sure of the spelling} and in order to buy 1lb. of rice, you had to buy a pack of Safex {even a male buyer}! Sad, but true, Jamaica is a 'one of a kind' nation!

If Rygin get a good lawyer, he can get 5-10 yr probation if he’s a first time offender. He can also get 3-5yrs yrs whiching he would do 30 months as state time 1 yr in NY is 10 months serve. Thing is though, if he argues he was scared for his life because they tried to take his 3 points before. If he gets probation he could keep his docs, but, if it’s prison time they might take it. Unless they argue him being scared for his life back home. It’s a couple rappers that have green card or citizenship that got probation and stayed.

However, by God's definition of 'wicked', any wickedness you have done 'in your heart' {e.g. thought about doing, such as killing someone}, you are guilty of that deed. Jesus said, "If a man looks at a woman who is not his wife and envisions 'sleeping' with her, he is just as guilty of fornication/adultery as the man who actually did it.
Therefore, wickedness begins in the mind, not when the wicked deed is actually done. Suppressing or controlling it does not make a person guiltless.

Hi Souflo, I am giving my condolences to the person that lost their mom. There is someone in my community that I grew up that most his mother and he kind of lost his mind. His mom left him two homes. A woman married him and in a couple months put him outside to live like a dog. He cannot go I the house. He is at the mercy of these people. My family give him food money and clothes when they see him. Someone else stole the other house. All because his mom died.
