I have some pedals from JOYO and they are really good. This preamp is ok, but I use the Mud Killer for metal and heavy stuff. The Joyo preamp sounds good and I would use it for rock and blues.
If you have a 100% Thrash or related genre gig it is needlessly big but if you only play one style your board could be small. I have small $40.00 USD ...3 knob MOEN Metal with a very Dual/Rec vibe that covers this easily as well for the few tunes I need it for. Why pay over twice the money???
i have it and it is the worst pedal ive ever owned, ill stick with darkflame or REVV G4, ot Diezel VH4 pedal and bigg muff, has no low-end even with it dimmed and the joyo video is completely misleading, go with the UZI or darkflame and this thing sux in comparison to all the other JOYO distortion pedals

@@adamstein9333 I really like the Rigel (more than the Uzi in my setup, TBD against the Dark Flame), but if you try to run it in front of an amp I completely agree with the issues that the other commenter mentioned. It gets shrill, you lose bass, and the toggle switches do basically nothing. I use the Rigel straight into the Joyo Cab Box with an Ownhammer Mesa IR and it's great in that setup.
@@chaosblade077 I grabbed the dark flame and have the Uzi, with a EH LB1 nano into a demonfx TS808/TS9 then the Joyos to a 7band Eq and then the VSN looper/tuner/C/D/R to a Mooer radar (I want the cab box so much) and those are ABY d to a Donner Livejack M (awesome cheap usb with THU Overloud! It’s massive and I don’t have an amp. All full range but one Day I’ll grab the Tube Engine or if I can find a trirec, or XXX, genz Benz, B52 atx100. Yep a cheap rectifier that I can’t afford to buy again these days nor need but hmph! That is why I was interested in the Rigel for I’ve been told it has recto box tones. Have You heard of the DemonFx R3 and R4s? There’s a Diezel clone too and LYR rock has the Ceres. Also I want to try the Joyo Argos If You have any info on that! I’m looking for a Rigel now
@AdamStien9333 np, i have the dark flame, diezel VH4, revv G4, empress heavy menace, UZI, metal muff and lot more so yeah dont buy the rigel it is a real waist of time and $$. i can kinda demo them for you with my head set if u want, driftwood heavy hatchet and lichtlerm audio distortion worship are coming out with new pedals and they are awesome and just so you know the darkflame is not a revv G4 clone, its more a g3 clone the revvG4 is more recto sounding in the best way and the G3 is more mid focused and less saturated/tighter. I play mostly nu-metal rythm KoRn coal chamber darkdays type of stuff

Cool drive. Joyo makes great stuff at a totally afundable price. I totally love my zombie bantamp and my sweet baby od.

FYI the darkflame is not a revv g4 clone, it less saturated and is more mid focused like a G3@@adamstein9333
