I picked one of these up a few weeks ago and paired it with a Two Notes Cab M+. It sounds fantastic, exactly what I was looking for. The preamp is low noise and super tight sounding, so I was able to ditch the tube screamer clone and noise gate I was using, reducing my rig by 2 pedals. I believe it was Kyle Bull that said this pedal is a KSR Amplification Ceres clone.
Good to know about the noise level of the Rigel.. How's the noise level of the Cab M+ ? Because some of the videos I saw about the Opus revealed a high level of noise.
Love your stuff Neil, keep up the good work. I have the Joyo Chopper Z and I'd say for the money, it beats the Horizon Apex or even the new Natas pedal. Check out the Chopper if you haven't yet
@NinecoreNeil excellent review. * Could you please make a vs between this one, dark flame and the fantastic mooer 005? - Using the same IR in the DAW and seeing how each one behaves in that aspect in terms of EQ, saturation, Gain, Noise ETC. Stay tuned You're the best. cheers
Hi this is a tough one there’s not much between them they both sound great, the 005 only does the 5150 thing but does have a built in cab sim which I’ve found useful…. The Rigel on the other hand has lots of tone shaping functionality but is only a pre amp pedal it doesn’t have the cab sim. I guess it’s a case of whether you need the cab sim or not I may do a shootout eventually but like i say the 005 has that one tone which it does brilliantly and Rigel has more scope but tonewise it’s equally good 👍
