Thank you so much! It’s been so versatile for us too. We’re working a short video that shows how our daughter decorated it beautifully for a summer party! 🪴
Yes, absolutely! I was a real novice at the paint sprayer. We did buy one when I sanded and painted the front porch and when Brad made over the basement storage room. Thanks for the suggestion! 🏠
I have a 16’ x 24’ shed I will be fixing up! I will insulate, though. Also when I put together a construction shelving unit, I cut a 3/4 inch board, put stainless steel wheels ... 2 on each end, and the back ones are without locks and the front with locks and attached the shelving on top of it. That way I can just roll the heavy shelves easily where I want. Did the same with my big tool chest! Works great! Your project looks wonderful!
What a fantastic idea for the shelving unit! I think if we had a 16x24 we would have insulated as well and could use it as a beautiful living space. What will you be using your for? Good luck with everything and let us know how it goes!
Thanks! We just love our little shed. This morning we just released a new updated video on how our daughter decorated the she shed in a vintage style for her and her husbands vow renewal. Here’s the link if you’re interested in seeing! th-cam.com/video/go-1Ds6Fw4w/w-d-xo.html
I love it . I tried to give it a thumbs up but every time I hit the thumbs up it lit up in the thumbs down so I clicked it back off. I didn’t want it to show up as a thumbs down. I don’t understand why it dies that🤷🏼♂️
Thank you! We love the variety with hostas too. Especially around the shed. We have some in the yard we need to switch around because they get too much sun, but that’s for another day, lol!
Your shed makeover is adorable. And your yard is gorgeous!!!! We rebuilt a new house after losing ours to hurricane Michael in 2018, and bought a shed for “me”. But it’s functional also with pool stuff, gardening stuff, etc. it’s become a catch all over the last 2 yrs after rebuilding. But your shed is such an inspiration. 😁
Thank you so much! I’m so sorry of your loss during the hurricane. How devastating! I couldn’t imagine… I know that it can be a challenge having (and keeping!) a space for yourself. After you purge, having functional/pretty storage that fits your lifestyle can make all the difference. Try to remind your family it’s not a storage shed, but a place for you that incorporates storage. Best of luck with everything and let us know how it goes! ☀️
Thank you, I’m so glad you liked it! We definitely had to purge A LOT of things that we were not using, and we don’t miss any of it! Lol! We’ve been on a journey to downsize our things and have less inventory to manage. The things we did want to keep we stored behind the shed (see around time marker 7:10). We also recently used the she shed as a coffee and beverage station when we hosted a party for our daughter and son in law and I’ll link it here if you’d like to have a look! th-cam.com/video/go-1Ds6Fw4w/w-d-xo.html
Thank you! After we decluttered a lot of it, we store the rest behind the shed. In the winter we use the shed to store our patio chairs and bird bathes, and in the warmer weather we have them out. Hope that answers your questions!
Also, when you put trim at the bottom of the outside, it collects water, holds it against the wood, and will rot it big time. My friend lost the whole bottom of her shed that way - the previous owners had put on. Take that "trim" off right away. Maybe you should put the insulation on the outside and new siding on top of that.
Hi Jessica! Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. The trim we used is a pvc material, and we have a thick bead of caulk on the top for any water to roll off and not sit there, so it shouldn’t be rotting out any time soon. We also get a lot of sun to dry that side. The side we had some rot on used to have wood trim and we had a beautiful vine covering it which held moisture. Our neighbor who’s been here much longer than us said the shed is at least 35 years old! Pretty good for a shed. Our goal was to stop the rot, declutter, make it more efficient to use & store by organizing, and to make it pretty when we use it without breaking the bank. We love it and we should get several more years out of it!
nice job the fresh paint job really cleaned up the space. thanks for sharing. Really like the idea of making the table portable so you could use it in different ways
Very nice video! I’ve been looking at shed repair videos all week because the bottom edge of my siding is rotted similar to yours. The first couple minutes and I didn’t think this was the video that would be helpful for my particular problem but turns out y’all had a different repair idea that I hadn’t thought about so thank you for that. Mine floods when it rains though so I need to figure out how to stop the water from getting in.
I’m so glad the video helped, and thanks for watching ! We haven’t had any issues with the side since we finished the repair. Best of luck with your shed! 👍🏼
This really helped with my own shed ideas. My shed is over 25 years old too but only has one tiny old aluminum crank widow. I need to find a way to add more windows on three sides. Mine also has no electricity right now. Love those lights you found! I’m curious why you didn’t add more windows in front or in opposite side for more light? Otherwise, it is a great transformation! Thanks for the inspiration! 🏡 Choosing Joy~ Stephanie
Thanks for the feedback Stephanie! We did talk about adding more windows to the front or on the side. But because we use it for storage late fall-early spring we choose not to add them at this time. We still might down the road and maybe with an opaque widow, but we thought we would live with it a few years to see how it evolves. We are still loving how versatile everything is! Good luck with yours and let us know how it turns out! 🙂
New subscriber. I love your shed! We're in process of building onto and transforming ours into a workshop for me, and I'm super excited. Painting the interior may or may not happen as my plate is overflowing and I need space to work yesterday! Anyway, great job!
Thank you! That would be fantastic making a shed into workshop! Great luck with everything, and if you don’t get to the painting right away it can be done when life slows down a little. Let us know how it goes!
People are so rude, if you don't like the video just leave and watch something else but don't give it a thumbs down these people turned an old shed into something beautiful
Thank you! We got rid of A LOT if it! Use it or loose it, lol! We kept the patio furniture we are using, and we cleared out a spot behind the shed for garden tools. Towards the end of the video I show the spot behind the shed. :)
We purged A LOT of it! So many of the items we just weren’t using. We kept only things that were in good shape and we were currently using, got rid of duplicates and items we didn’t really need. That took care of a majority of the items! Useful patio furniture went on the deck, extra unneeded patio furniture went to the curb. Lawn mower and large garden tools went behind the shed (around 7 mins into the video). I hope this helps!! 👩🌾🪴🏡
Definitely a game changer! So thankful we gave it a try. We have a trip coming up at the end of the month, but sticking close to home still. Hopefully our state will open up a little more so we feel comfortable heading out!
Great question! I can’t remember exactly, but I think it was 2 gallons of primer and 2 gallons of top coat. This was our first time using the paint sprayer, so with practice you may be able to use less paint! 🤣
Hi Jessica! Great idea about the insulation. If we ever turn it into more of a bedroom or art studio and run electricity we may go that route. For now we still use it to store our outside furniture, bird baths, and hoses over the winter (we get pretty cold in Wisconsin!). We’re enjoying our lovely little sitting area and our grandkids get a kick out of their “play house”!
I wish we could work right along side you to get you started! Best 2 tips would be get rid of everything you’re not using RIGHT NOW, and paint it all a fresh white. You’ve got this! 🪴
I love the space
Thank you! We love it! 🏡
This spring I'm doing my shed over painting it so it looks nice
That’s great! Best of luck with everything, and let us know how it goes! 🪴
You could add wheels to the shelving unit to help you move it easier.
Fantastic idea! I’ve seen them with breaks on the wheels as well to help it stay put! 🪴
Nice work!
Thank you!! We love the functionality of it as well as it looks great! 🪴
WOW! Your shed l.ooks awesome, you guys did a great job enjoy! Thanks for sharing. Liz..😊
Thank you so much! It’s been so versatile for us too. We’re working a short video that shows how our daughter decorated it beautifully for a summer party! 🪴

You’re welcome, and thank you!! She’s definitely hanging in there, looks beautiful and is really functional! 🏡
Consider using a respirator style mask when spraying an enclosed space. Cheers!
Yes, absolutely! I was a real novice at the paint sprayer. We did buy one when I sanded and painted the front porch and when Brad made over the basement storage room. Thanks for the suggestion! 🏠
Getting ready to redoing my shed. Like the fairy lights. Thanks for the idea

Ah hah. I just went back to try it again and it let me like it.:)
Beautiful, love the landscape hostas are the best
Thank you! We love the variety with hostas too. Especially around the shed. We have some in the yard we need to switch around because they get too much sun, but that’s for another day, lol!

Fabulous. But can I ask where is everything, I find when I clean things out it only clutters up someplace else lol

I thought I liked the ceiling…until he put those planks up. Beautiful.
Thank you! We love the ceiling too. Really brought it to the next level easily, and covers the nails sticking through from the shingles!
Great video! :)
Thank for watching! So glad you liked it!
Loved! You guys motivated me, thanks!
Thank you, so glad it did! Motivation is half the battle in our home! 🙌🏼
Another great video guys. Thanks 👍

You did a great job :-)
Thank you! It was so rewarding!
What an amazing transformation!!! I absolutely love it! You’ve inspired me to do something similar to the inside of my garage!!!
That’s great! 🙂
Well done. Those power paint sprayers are a game changer! Any camping trips coming up?
Definitely a game changer! So thankful we gave it a try. We have a trip coming up at the end of the month, but sticking close to home still. Hopefully our state will open up a little more so we feel comfortable heading out!
How many gallons did it take to paint your shed?
Great question! I can’t remember exactly, but I think it was 2 gallons of primer and 2 gallons of top coat. This was our first time using the paint sprayer, so with practice you may be able to use less paint! 🤣
🥰🥰🥰

you look like you were covered in paint.
Lol first time using a paint sprayer 😊
Ii
🤔?
Just so you know, "She Shed" is the stupidest term ever invented.
Lol! I can respect your opinion!
I think it does help to differentiate between a normal storage/garden shed and a really pretty one one though! 🪴
Beautiful
