- My shed hasn't been living up to it's full potential. It was time to give it a much needed makeover with some DIY. In this video you'll see the full transformation from messy dumping ground to a tidy and organised potting shed. I'll show you how to build a simple workbench and maximise storage in a small space without using any power tools!

Hi Katrina, my greenhouse had a similar broken pane of glass. My wife suggested the glass from an old photo frame and it’s held in place with double sided clear sellotape. Being on the inside and resting on the window frame it’s both weather and wind proof. It’s also bloomin cheap. Great vids keep up the good work. Cheers.

Just go for it and varnish the whole thing, you can't go wrong. After it dries, do a light sand and go over again, and then when dry give a good rub down with a cloth, old tea towel. Old captains trick on boats . Love your dedication to your workplace. Nice one . X

This is the first time I have come across your channel. You did a great job! I like the closing comments especially where you said that your glad you did this after having your shed a while bcs you didn't really know what and how you would have used the shed. The result id wonderful use of space for what you will us it for going forward. You are a doll. BTW I am a 67 yr old Granny who will be doing some new gardens with my daughter and her husband and two little blondes ages 5+6 this coming summer 2022. FYI We are in upstate New York far far from the city. We are in the mountains and it's a beautiful rural place to have a family.

Interesting to hear about a car boot sale and your correct we have yard sales and I some areas people have garage sales. We also have a style like what you went to called flea markets usually in a large parking lot or something and you pay a small fee for your booth and all the vendors sell their items which could be used or new. Bakery , clothing, jewelry, baked good etc.. it’s a fun way to get some good deals all in one spot. Your shed makeover looks great and will be so much more functional for you!

In America we have the same thing as car boot sales, but we call them a flea markets or swap meets. Great work btw, that table will last longer than the shed will!
I know everything changes and continues changing. I liked the paperboard, the tea corner and the drawings visible ❤️...but i know that tools at easy places are better for your daywork.

I've watched this probably 3-4 times, because I've come back to it for different reasons, the first time for the bench (I've since built my bench), the second time for the shed (I"m getting town approval) and this time for the tools on the wall (designing layout above my bench). I know I watched it at least twice before as I was researching the size of sheds (mine will be 8 ft by 14 ft so I can store lawnmowers and other power tools, etc, but I like the number of windows to let in the light! Nice video!!! Thank you!! (live in middle of New England for reference)

Hello from Florida! Your grandmother’s fork has that tell-tale blue green residue that appears on old brass/bronze/copper items. Maybe get some brass polish and buff it up on a rainy day. It’ll shine like new money!

Wow, a car boot sale is far better than how we do it! I have to drive all over town going from yard sale to yard sale and likely miss several cuz there isn't one place people post them if they even post them at all. I wish we could switch to car boot sales in a central location here lol Great job on your garden shed, looks awesome.

Love your do over!! Nice job. I plan to have a rustic mini kitchen for tea and sandwiches in my potting/craft shop that is off the garage. I have a 1920’s stove on tall legs, electric hot water pot and large water dispenser. I am looking for a toaster oven. Vintage lamps are on the benches. The interior has reclaimed exterior siding on the walls, a large old victorian rug on the floor and I installed vintage shelving I collected over the years. We even installed a nice old wood burner for those cold days that the previous owner left behind. So excited to get my hands dirty!! Happy gardening 🌸

A woman after my own heart using a ferro rod to spark up a fire for the Kelly Kettle, seriously. You always rate a 9.8 for skills and serendipity ( the cobbled cell-phone holder). What I really loved were the videos in which you sat down in the shed with a teapot and talked about longer subjects. Then AND, of cause now, this shed is a special place for its beauty (the windows into the secret garden being a decisive feature;-) and it's history! ... And I love the colour! 🥰

Love it, y'all did a great job remodeling. I would put the scissors over by the string, that will also give you an extra hook for something else.
Thanks for watching! Somebody else suggested that but string isn’t the only use for my scissors. I’m also right handed so I would rather (at the table) grab them with my right hand than twist my body to the left.

What a beautiful transformation! It’s so lovely to look at now. One idea for your pegboard though: when you’re sure you have everything in it’s place, you could take a pencil and lightly trace around your small tools so if you come back in with several tools after gardening you don’t have to try to remember where each one goes. A pencil won’t show enough to ruin the prettiness of the display and can be erased if you decide to rearrange. ( or just take a picture on your phone and make it your screensaver, because it really does look lovely) Thanks for sharing this video, your videos are always so peaceful and relaxing. Xx

I love your new shed. I lined my work bench tops with oil cloth fabric. So it protects the wood, easy to clean and looks nice too. Mines grey with white spots and was a long cut off. Also when my glass greenhouse windows were smashed I replaced them with acrylic panes off amazon. You can’t even tell it’s not glass. Xxx

Love your shed. I wish I had windows in my shed. We also have car boot sales but we call them flea markets in the States. I love the Coffee scoop, wish I had one that big but I only have tea scoops.

Just re-watched the video and one thing that sprang to mind with your Grandma's steps ... Fasten them to the outside of the shed and give them a lick of paint and you have some ready made strong ( theyre designed to carry people) shelves for pots of plants !!
I'm just about to buy a new shed after 30 odd years and I want to make mine into a potting shed like yours (as well as a garden shed) that way I free up more room in the greenhouse
