Thanks, Nick. A week's holiday in Olhos de Agua, arriving this coming Friday 14th. Visiting Loule and the Market on Saturday 15th. You've given me some great tips for places to see, to eat and to grab a good coffee!
One of my favourite annual vents held in Loulé during the month of February, is the Feira do Chocolate at the Market. It's a week long self-indulgent event of "everything chocolate". Chocolatiers from all over Portugal come to Loulé to demonstrate their craft and sell their wares. So tasty! Thank you for the tour of one of my favourite towns in the Algarve.
Thank you Nick for the amazing videos and expose to Loule’! We are researching the Algarve from the US and have thought of Tavira... till seeing Loule’!😀 I can’t overstate how helpful your videos and your other interviews have been. Thanks again. I’ll be sure to contact as time gets closer.
I’m in Loulé at the moment using this video is my virtual guide. The things you can do in retirement! Thanks again Nick - this place definitely lives up to your descriptions.
OMG I LOVE this town so picturesque. One thing I have noticed it seems like the buildings are right on top of each other in most of what I have seen. Something to get use to. Thanks for another great video!
Hello Nick, well you are spot on with this Loule clip. Very well produced, especially like the Google Earth map interspersed with driving/walking on the ground. Well done a fab job. Love Loule.
me too! i went for the first (and only so far) time last year for the carnival and loved everything about this little town. very different to my usual holidays, but will be coming back again (hopefully in 2022 if possible!). one of the best value holidays one can have if coming from the UK imo
Loule looks like a really lovely town - a great walking place, too. I liked your technique of doing the overhead shot, and then zooming in and giving us a ground view of things. Kind of strange the train station is so removed from the heart of town. With Loule being close to Faro, the transport hub of the Algarve, it looks like a good place to live - close enough to the beaches, but enough away to avoid the onslaught of tourists. The park shown near the end really looked nice. Probably less bustle than normal, due to Covid, but glad some restaurants and shops are open. The climate in the Algarve should be good in repelling any virus. Loule seems like it would be a good starter town to locate in, and perhaps permanently, too. Thanks for the tour, Nick!
Great video Nick. Appreciate your time and effort which you put into these videos. Looking to retire to Portugal within next year so your videos are extremely helpful!
Just found you in YT and I'm an instant fan. Love a genuine perspective of a "local". I'm a retiree here in California... been trying to move there in the Algarve but I need lots of help since I can't even get an appointment for a D7 here in San Francisco. The Portugal consulate appointments are closed due to COVID.
Thanks Nick for another great video. They are certainly fun to watch during a Covid lockdown in Colorado when the snow is falling and we are trapped indoors. I appreciate the insight on all of the cool locals in the Algarve. I fell under the Portuguese spell after a trip in 2015. I never made it down south then, but I will certainly make it a destination whenever travel starts up again. Stay safe.
Hi Nick... found your channel about a month ago. Wanted to send you a shout out of appreciation for your insights, incredible filming, information, and it’s all entertaining-so thanks! Hope to take my family for a trip to Portugal after Covid is over. Getting a wonderful head start with all your videos. Best!
Excellent tour. Fantasizing about moving to Portugal and had not considered the Algarve until now ... And thanks for the link to European Portuguese lessons. It's impossible to find anything but Brazilian Portuguese in the United States.

That’s the kind of town that appeals to me. Perfect for retirement as it is close to so many other places in the Algarve but you have it all within Loulé
Thank you for your great work! I've been searching a long time for a series of videos like yours which goes through different towns of the Algarve and shows what day-to-day life is like. If you can sprinkle in some details about the price of real estate in these places and what life is like in the winter as opposed to the summer that would be wonderful. Thanks again and keep going.

@@gustavobarqueta8379 Forget the politics ! Portugal is not the politics. Hi Anna, yes for sure you're allowed electric bikes. Are there any places in the world that don't allow them? I'd suggest you lock your bike wherever you go in the world.
Excellent video. I was just wondering, how much it costs for the athletic complex. We both play tennis and swim. So we are wondering if it is just better to pay for HOA dues at an apt complex with a pool.
Hi Linda, if it's a public sports centre you won't pay much at all. I think we paid about €25 a month for my daughter's swimming lessons, but it'll be cheaper for just access.

What is the nightlife like in Loulé? Any clubs, dancing.....ETC. Thanks.
Sir, you are a gentleman, excellent video, I’m getting hooked on the Algarve. Love this town I could see me running my online business from here, what the internet speeds like there ?.🙂
Thanks David 👍🏼In the town itself you can get fibre, so I guess that's a consistent 20mbs plus. Weretin the country and have negotiated a good rate for unlimited 4g which is pretty variable but can be anything from 5mb - 30mbs. Let's put it this way, we can stream Netflix every night with no problem.
Thanks for these videos and your channel, I hope you keep producing this type of content - you've got a knack for it! Quite charming as well. ;) If you end up doing consultations for how to find trustworthy estate agents and legal assistance to get property in the Algarve without getting swindled or exploited, I would certainly hit you up in the coming year!
Hey Nick, we quite like the look of Loule. Just wondered how many English speakers there are living there or expats. We are planning to learn the basics at least but would like to know as it will take us a while to get settled and confident speakers
Ola Nick. I wanted to ask you a question on living in Loule. Is a car needed to get around town? Is there public transportation? Is the town easy to get around on foot? And my last question is there transportation to the airport. Thank you in advance and Happy New Year. =)
Love the video. Great use of Google Earth! We were in Faro just before lock down and plan to return to the Algarve for the long term when things get back to normal. Is there a good language school in Loulé you would recommend?
Thanks Rob - you could try learning online if you'd like? Check out www.practiceportuguese.com?ref=19 or there is a company called "Valor por medida" in Loulé who do Portuguese lessons.
Really informative, thank you! Loulé has jumped higher on my exploration list after seeing this. You mention parking is hard. Is there much public transit or is Loulé walkable - as in, can one live without a car?
Hi Colette, I haven't lived without a car in Loulé só I couldn't really say but it's small enough to be walkable. If you really need it there is a circular bus route (I'm not sure how frequent it is) and lots of Ubers and the dreaded taxis...
The lady in the video said it’s a great place for those 40+? Where would you say is better for young people and families? We are from the UK and have children age 5 and 3 and are looking at our options in Portugal. Thanks for the great videos!
Hi Elizabeth, the whole Algarve used to have a much older expat demographic. It's changing these days and more families are relocating over due to Brexit, issues in the USA and South Africa. That video was made almost two years ago and it feels like things have changed a fair bit. There are many more younger people around now.
Like the way you use the map combined with live footage. Great job. Also good extra info. Way ahead of those silent walkthroughs (Actually....not comparable!).
We are moving from Los Angeles to the Algarve. We’ve enrolled our son into school in Almancil and are looking to live around Santa Barbara De Nexe. Do you have anything on this area? We’ve been watching a lot of your videos and would love to pick your brains somehow
Great video. I could use some advice, please. I'm 32 and considering moving to Portugal from England mostly for warmer winter months (but general change in lifestyle appeals too). I visited Loulé and Faro 5 years ago but from what I remember, I get the impression there may not be enough for me to do, even in Faro. Would I compromise a noticeably colder change in winter weather (compared to the Algarve) if I moved to Lisbon, for example?
Lisbon is a few degrees cooler and a little wetter than the Algarve but obviously has lots more on. The Algarve is great for people who enjoy an outdoor lifestyle. Hope this helps.
Hi Brid, we did actually. We bought an apartment in Loulé in 2005 and lived there for quite a few years before looking for a house in the country which we found near São Brás (a little further east).

Thanks for these videos and your channel, I hope you keep producing this type of content - you've got a knack for it! Quite charming as well. ;)
If you end up doing consultations for how to find trustworthy estate agents and legal assistance to get property in the Algarve without getting swindled or exploited, I would certainly hit you up in the coming year!
Thanks for your kind words 👍🏼. I do recommend some estate agents, you can see them in my relocation sheet available on www.algarveaddicts.com
Is there any public transport in Loulé or surrounding areas? I hate driving.
Hi there is, buses: check out www.algarvebus.info There is also a train line but Loulé station is far away from Loulé 😂
@@AlgarveAddicts Thank you!
Excellent video. Well done.
Cheers Brad 👍🏼
Thank you,
You're welcome William.
Hey Nick, we quite like the look of Loule. Just wondered how many English speakers there are living there or expats. We are planning to learn the basics at least but would like to know as it will take us a while to get settled and confident speakers
You'll be fine in Loulé as long as you make an effort in Portuguese. Most locals in the Algarve speak English.
Ola Nick. I wanted to ask you a question on living in Loule. Is a car needed to get around town? Is there public transportation? Is the town easy to get around on foot? And my last question is there transportation to the airport. Thank you in advance and Happy New Year. =)
Hi Luis, it's small enough to walk and there is also a bus that goes around the town (although I've never used it). Uber and taxis are all over.
@@AlgarveAddicts Thanks so much for taking the time to reply - really appreciate that and feel reassured!
Wow Awesome Vid . you are a brilliant Tour Guide . thank you
Thanks Michelle, that's very kind.
Love your videos, as if I'm there!
Thank you Corina, that's a wonderful compliment.
Like the way you use the map combined with live footage. Great job. Also good extra info. Way ahead of those silent walkthroughs (Actually....not comparable!).
Much appreciated!
Is Portugal this beautiful
You recomend Loule for living?
Sure! Why not, it's a lovely town and I managed to live there for 5 years.
We are moving from Los Angeles to the Algarve. We’ve enrolled our son into school in Almancil and are looking to live around Santa Barbara De Nexe. Do you have anything on this area? We’ve been watching a lot of your videos and would love to pick your brains somehow
Hey Kam, you're welcome to jump on a call with me, have a look on www.algarveaddicts.com
@@AlgarveAddicts Thanks for the advice.
How is it in Portugal now ? Do I have to be vaccinated ?
It's changing all the time and depends where you're coming from. Check out www.visitportugal.com/en/content/covid-19-measures-implemented-portugal
👍interested to know why u did not choose to live in Loule...?.
Hi Brid, we did actually. We bought an apartment in Loulé in 2005 and lived there for quite a few years before looking for a house in the country which we found near São Brás (a little further east).
Very very professional video, thank you and well done 👍
Why thank you.
