Evil cannot create. It can only corrupt and pervert. We're seeing that in a thousand different ways nowadays.

The big difference when Chris Claremont was writing X-Men is that Jim Shooter kept everything going and had a strong editorial control. When they fired him, Marvel went to shit during the 90s and got worse in the 2000s and by 2012 , Marvel was destroyed. No editorial control, no good comics.

      YOU NAILED IT 🫵🏆
I met Jim many years ago and BOYYYYYY the revealing stories he had to tell about these nice guy pervs really opened my eyes. Some of the people who are “legends” are actually trash and it was editorial in the 80s who made the stories worth a pound of salt by reeling them all in.

Exactly. There's been no strong editorial guidance at Marvel since Shooter was fired in the late 80's. A lot of the creators whined about his rules, but the proof is that during his time as EiC, Marvel published seminal runs on nearly all their titles. Unfortunately, I doubt we'll ever see that kind of consistent high quality again.

Those who say "iT wAs aLwAyS wOkE" are wrong. Woke requires a holier-than-thou attitude from the writer, something that civil rights activism in the 20th century didn't have

2:30 Len Wein wrote Giant Size X-Men #1... Claremont started on issue #94 and it's kind of a crime to not mention Dave Cockrum. Or John Byrne. Or the other artists that followed. They did the heavy lifting IMHO.

3:44 they don't have kids anymore, they just clone themselves. I don't even know which characters aren't clones anymore. I remember marvels stance on clones back in the 90s with Namorita, and Atlanteans said clones lack souls, so that's why the X-Men are acting soulless. Captain America is also a cosmic cube clone of the original that they turned into a Nazi and sent to hell, so that's why he sucks nowadays too. Iron Man was killed by Carol Danvers, and was cloned with an AI copy of his memories downloaded into that clone, so that's why he sucks nowadays too.

    You keep forgetting something
    Chris Claremont is a writer
Modern marvel comics writers are gay activists *First* and then writers.
    And we see the results

Oooh. The "X-Men proves comics were ALWAYS woke" crowd isn't going to be happy about this.

You sure about that? Lol. "Woke" propaganda is merely Leftism dealt with a hammer instead of a spoon. Your high horse belongs on a carousel.

Chris Claremont created this by making the X-Men a allegory for minorities and ham-fisted politics in the X-Men. Unlike Stan Lee where they were teens with superpowers. All the mutant thing and mutant discrimination was Claremont. Claremont is Victor Frankenstein and the current woke X-Men is his monster.

Chris Claremont did not write Giant-Size X-Men; Len Wein did. If that book came out today with those characters you'd make two dozen videos about is screaming "woke!" and "identity politics!"

None of them are gay and there's a sympathetic Russian, and a toxically masculine man on it, plus it's led by a white guy...so where would the woke outrage be? You're so delusional, you cannot even argue correctly

@@Mr_RobottsThe woke outrage would be about Storm, who is a black woman, and Thunderbird, a Native American. That’s two non-white characters too many for guys like JDA.

@bumpkinstv6722 you have a deep ignorance in you then if you seriously don't understand what people are complaining about. "Oh it's just racisism!" Is such a lame ass ignorant copout. No one complains about black people and native Americans existing fool. You do realize people like him have been the people who supported the comics industry for decades, right, including black heroes, native American heroes, and more.
