Love the soundtrack & cinematography in A Clockwork Orange & the ending of Planet Of The Apes is iconic 🗽. My favorite William Friedkin films are The French Connection & Sorcerer with The Exorcist & Killer Joe tied for third. To Live & Die In LA has a terrific final scene. Friedkin was my favourite Director.
A Hard Days Night is great Larry but then again I'm a total Beatle freak and the music in it is great and the songs sound better then the records and I figured out why,the songs in the movie are at their normal speed!,to me they sound fuller, more mature,I played along to it one day on my bass and realized the songs were a fret lower then the singles,at least on She Loves You it was,no one else seems to have noticed this and the songs are great either way so it really doesn't matter and I loved Help as well,Beatles rule! Bob
This is an interesting one Larry. Quite a variety of movies and genres represented here. I must admit that, aside from being a huge, lifelong Beatles fan, I would have put A Hard Day's Night in S, simply for the fact that as pop music movies go this was of it's time and a classic and the best of it's genre. I love Help! But this is the one that get's repeated viewings from me. Spinal Tap, The Exorcist are two examples of movies that I cannot watch anymore, for me they have dated, and I would probably place them in E. There are others not in your list that would be in mine, like The first Batman movie starring Michael Keaton and Jack Nicholson and The Dark Knight with Christian Bale and Heath Ledger. Those two are classic superhero movies and would be in my S tier. There is also one Jim Carrey movie not listed in yours but would be in mine and that's Me, Myself and Irene. For me that's a classic and even to this day I find so funny. I do agree with your placing of The Wizard Of Oz, a perennial childhood favourite of mine and would be in my S tier as well. Over all you have a good selection there. Which goes to show, that like music, movies are a subjective issue when it comes to what we like and dislike. One final fave of mine, maybe not to everybody's taste, but to me is great, and that is Romeo and Juliet, the Baz Lurhmann directed movie from 1996 starring Leonardo Di Caprio and Claire Danes. I have great memories of taking my eldest daughter to see it when she'd just started studying Shakespeare at School, and she loved it and got good grades for her work..
I find it difficult for me to critique you on where you put your choices. There are some that while I appreciated the artistry & what went into the movie, including the acting, I would never want to see again. I enjoyed the video & look forward to the next one.😊
Star Wars The Empire Strikes Back and A New Hope would be in S Tier for me. I'd also place Star Wars The Phantom Menace in A Tier. I agree with most of your other rankings especially Shaun of the Dead and Back to the Future which are two of my favourites 👍xxx.
Definitely agree with one flew over the cucoos nest and Misery, Judy garlands one of my favorite actresses, your take on wizard of oz is how I feel with Mary Poppins Feed the Birds is an amazing song and I really like Dick Van Dyke and David Tomlison in the movie. Great idea for a tier list I’ve done my top 20 movies on my channel
Living in southern California I love to visit the filming location of Planet of the apes, would of ranked it higher, spoiler alert it was earth along 😮😂
The movie not on this list, War Of The Worlds (1953) is one I would put in the S column. The movie is one of my favorites, I wasn't born when it was in general release, I've only seen it on TV and twice in film revival theater. I don't care for the Dumb and Dumber, but The Fly (1958) is another S lister because Vince Price is in it.
I would have Holy Grail, A Clockwork Orange, The Departed and Star Wars at S tier. Mystic River might be S but it’s so long since I’ve seen it but definitely A. The Wizard of Oz would be B. Truman Show, Something About Mary, Dumb and Dumber, Christmas Vacation, Austin Powers, Meet the Parents and 40 Year Old Virgin would be much lower on my list - they all had some good parts but overall pretty dull movies for me…. I don’t like Jim Carey, Steve Carrel, Chevy Chase and Mike Myers so much. Spinal Tap is good, some classic scenes, but for me it’s a bit overrated. Empire Strikes Back, Terminator, Lords of the Rings, Shaun of the Dead and Young Frankenstein are bordering S and A. I watched Palm Springs last night - very good movie.
StarWars The Empire Strikes Back is my all-time favourite movie, Forrest Gump & BTTF are up there too. I recently did a video on my top 25 movies, I’d appreciate it if you would watch that & let me know your all-time favourite movies.
I disagree with the high position of "Dumb and dumber" (do not like these kind of films) and the low position of "Black Swan" (great performance of Natalie Portman. The rest is okay.
I think with most films its a mood thing! I hate musicals personally! Back in 1966 when I was 6 my Mom and dad told me we were going to see a war film! It was the Sound of music! So a deep psychological hatred of musicals! Technically it was a war film! 😆 🤣 😂
I did not like deleverace halloween or the exocist id trade them with airplane if was on you lis what ever happened to baby jane love elf so so about 40 year old. Virgin id put rear window and rope by the best alfred Hitchcock and love Saturday night fever a river runs through it brad pitt was s tier
Only two major disagreements I've got: 1) the perennially overrated Misery. My gosh, what a NON-SCARY movie based on a novel that was scary as hell. It's goofy and silly and so has a bit of comedic value, but what a washout all around. D-tier. 2) Star Wars (the first one) is E-tier. Just when the American cinema was going through a Second Golden Age, with outstanding movies being made that were entertaining to boot, Star Wars had to come along and wreck the whole thing. After that movie, character development took the back seat to special effects and super-heroes cultism, which continues to this day (with the added downside of woke ideology). Anyway, Star Wars was the body blow that killed American cinema. Did I say E-tier? Z-tier.

All I could watch on your tiers, save Exorcist; noooo! It's the visual that gets me, esp after dark. 🌚 I've not seen Black 🦢, pretentious I don't do. I do agree, John Candy is gold; never seen him do crap work.
You could do a tier ranking for music documentaries next. I'd have the first two "Star Wars" films in my "S" tier. As well as "A Hard Day's Night".
The exorcist movie is my fav tho
Reminds me of Scary maze and Faith The unholy trinity by Airdorf games
Clockwork Orange is top of "S" tier for sure - such a bold and compelling movie
It's my favourite movie and novel❤

No major disagreements here. Although I would personally have A Hard Day's Night as S tier, I could watch that every day and never get tired of it

"Shaun of the Dead" is the greatest comedy of the last 25 years!!!
Spinal tap hassss to be in your s list
I'm shocked it wasn't
John Candy as the Polka King of The West from Home Alone should have its own tier.😅
Star Wars The Empire Strikes Back and A New Hope would be in S Tier for me. I'd also place Star Wars The Phantom Menace in A Tier. I agree with most of your other rankings especially Shaun of the Dead and Back to the Future which are two of my favourites 👍xxx.

Kathy bates announced her retirement today
Back to the Future, Monty Python & the Holy Grail, Toy Story, and Young Frankenstein are SSS/God tier for me.
I love Cult films.
Living in southern California I love to visit the filming location of Planet of the apes, would of ranked it higher, spoiler alert it was earth along 😮😂
You should do best and worst movie covers.
That’s a good idea

I watched Palm Springs last night - very good movie.
I'm watching waiting for guffman now for the first time never heard of it, lmfao rn I love Catherine O Harra. It's on Tubi free to watch
It's hilarious, especially the ending. The Best In Show and A Mighty Wind are very funny too, with the same cast.
StarWars The Empire Strikes Back is my all-time favourite movie, Forrest Gump & BTTF are up there too.
I recently did a video on my top 25 movies, I’d appreciate it if you would watch that & let me know your all-time favourite movies.
How dare you have a different opinion than mine! Oh for shame Larry, oh for shame.😔👍

What character in Jiminy Glick did you not like?
Just someone who swore a lot and was not funny.
Older movies were so much better than todays crap.
