Betty is a legend and we stan!
She was definitely a force to be reckoned with. I love this version as the whistle is much more prominent. On the album version there's a faded whistle but it was layered as a background vocal. I don't know why record execs always think that the public is not ready for a good whistle note. Anyhoo, loved your reaction. May she rest in peace.
Side note - I'm in Florida and we had some very strong thunderstorms the other day. I swore that Ms. Wright was holding a concert up in heaven.

I have to take Mariah's whistle and tuck it away in a little box when I listen to Betty because if I compare the two I'm going to think Mariah's whistle is trash when it's really not 😂Betty was just another another level. Just watching a couple of your videos and looked to see if you've ever reacted to The Righteous Brothers (i.e. Blue-eyed soul). I found that you appear to have not reacted to them and I'm therefore recommending that you do so tonight before you go to bed because I know you'll appreciate the vocals.
