Drumeo has a lot of these kinds of vids. The drummers don't get to hear the drums and get to write their own part. Chad just jumped in which is nuts

I genuinely don't understand how so many of these reactors can't read what is on the screen in front of them.
They usually do a listen through first, right? I'm aware of these vids but haven't seen a great deal.
@@kirstonemmm1423 yes. Some even write out a song structure so they have something to follow. Chad just took everything to a different level by jumping in on the first listen without completing it or taking any notes.
Crazy that he didnt listen all the way through, but still picked up the changes flawlessly.
He hears only the music no drums and has to fill in the drum part which is damn amazing!! the amount of musical talent you have to have to be able to fill in the blanks on the fly like that… He’s next level.

It amazes me how musicians minds work they can hear an isolated track and sync up with the guitar parts and the singing part and not step all over the rest of the band while compimenting the other instruments. Thats why they are the professionals.

I've watched a lot of these Drumeo vids but Chad was the first person i saw just jump in and start playing. Usually drummers will listen to the whole track at least once before playing it. He's got incredible instincts and music knowledge to be able to anticipate where the song is going.
Agreed. Chad has instinctual understanding of music composition. Follow the basics of intro, verse, chorus, bridge…. And then follow emphasis points. You see Chad listening to the bass, lead guitar and lead vocal. Chad misses first emphasis point but picks it right up and listens for it. Phenomenal musicianship. ✌️❤️
They give you a drumless track. The mad thing with gigaChad is that he goes in head 1st with no notes or anything and nails it everytime.

As a musician of 30yrs its so awesome to get your instrument and freestyle something and it fitting so good on a song is better than any drug ever, and it reminds you why you learned in the first place......because its damn fun!!!

You gotta check out Tosh Peterson's episode on Drumeo. Had never heard of him before. When they said he tours with Kid Laroi and MGK I set my expectations pretty low, but his performance on a song he never heard blew my mind. Sick drummer
Drumeo does this format it's great, drummer listens to the track without drums several times then gives their own version. Lots of drummers take notes or get little riffs prepared. Chad smith is wild, he just jumps in halfway through the song with no prep.
Most people that do this listen to the track all the way through and make notes. Chad just listened to 30 seconds of it and went for it 🤣

The key with great musicians is that they are always listening. He figured out it was in 3 and took basic song structure to create his cues in the song

Chad is a beast. He could have listened to the whole thing, taken notes, had multiple attempts, but no. A few measures in he just jumps in and crushes it.
The other big one (one of anyway) is Mr Brightside. I can never remember the fella’s name but he was absolutely phenomenal and changed the entire vibe of the song (in the best way 😊). You may enjoy it

You need to do "Gospel Legend hears Iron Maiden for the First Time!" This bassist kills this!!!! It shows how brilliant you have to be to do session work. I have NEVER seen somebody do what he does. He just about matches the original.

This is not impressive at all. How do you think drum parts are written??? I don't know why this dumb video is so popular. It's a simple song to play in a simple time signature. Any drummer who has been playing for a while can do this. You can see his instincts for changes are sharp though from playing so long. Seriously though this is is how drum parts are written. Its about as easy a song as they could have given him. There are probably 50 Chili Pepper songs in the same time signature.
