FYI, my Gx470 has the similar rear air bag sensors, mine was stuck in the highest setting, after unplugging the left side it came back down, (left side lowers,right side raises) it was beyond cleaning, it was almost froze and started to rip the metal bracket, I was able to buy the standard Prius headlight sensor for $12 bucks on eBay, it’s an exact replacement !!! I’m 99% sure Toyota uses the same one for multiple vehicles.
There is a Toyota sensor that is from a different application and is very affordable. If you search the forum of the most popular landcruiser site, the one that "Hates Mud". You will be able to find the part number.
I have a 2002 LX470 same color as your and total it just have to be as you said unable to adjust height and height stay at Low. I'll try to follow your step if it might works.
The procedure I did worked for almost a year but one sensor is quite bad (rusted) that starting to have the problem again. Actually I just replaced the bad one couple weeks ago from buying a used one at ebay for $50 and corrected it without replacing the other 2 sensors. You can clean yours and hopefully it's not that bad and will work for a while.
m3cs4 how did you determine which sensor was the bad one? I have a 06 gx470 and the ride is extremely bouncy. The height control doesn’t do anything until I tired this trick using a wire in the plug under the steering wheel area. Except that only last for an hour or so before the ride start to go bad again. I’m really thinking it’s the sensors but I don’t want to replace them all. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
That's the only problem with AHC suspension that I noticed. Even just one sensor is the problem it messed up the whole system. When I opened and cleaned them all at one time, I noticed one on the left front that is more rusted inside when you open it compared to the two. I bought a used one at ebay and just replaced that one sensor and it's working well now. You really have to check them all and clean them first, the two on the front is easy to check if you can still raise it up to high and you don't need to remove the wheels. The 3rd sensor is on the rear middle. I think the GX is the same set-up with the LX.
Yes it was blinking and was corrected after the cleaning of the sensor. This will be temporary for right now before totally changing the sensors because they are too expensive.
The suspension is not pneumatic, it’s hydraulic.

It's been doing well until recently its acting up again. The one sensor is really bad (rusted) so probably change it when budget is there.
