At the time of recording I did see a fair few available on EBay but there are still a few brand new at the retailers 😊👍

Personally, I’d use a locomotive like that for mixed traffic. It’s good for either freight or passenger!!

Hi Thank you for the comment. And prototypically it is a freight locomotive but yes I’ve ran it with coaches before and it does look splendid. Although I do have a rather interesting piece of rolling stock coming in a future review that looks amazing with this loco even if it’s not periodically correct, stay tuned 😊👍

Those look like ladders, which will prevent the front bogie from going round 2nd radius curves.

Hi thank you for the comment, I’ve tried it on my second radius loop recently and it does work but definitely the performance is not as good, it tends to slow down on the curves which I think is down the the large wheel configuration more than anything. So yes I would run this on radius 3 as a minimum 😊👍

It’s a typical Hornby monster!! My Hornby version of Pitchford Hall is not much better!! And she’s no blinking good at all!!

It’s not a bad loco but certainly by modern day standards it doesn’t perform as good as crawling speeds however this may vary with DCC operation, which when I make the switch I will do an update 😊👍
