@hornby magazine I'm wondering I've got an old train set of yours that my parents got me for an birthday present and is pre China it's in perfect condition is there any one I can show the set to please?
Wonderful to be involved with the Steampunk models for Hornby. Great fun designing them. Not trying to upset anyone. Aim is to broaden the appeal and get more modellers into our wonderful hobby.
i see now why you had to keep hush hush when i asked you about selling these locos when i spoke to you at warley, very good idea and think they will do well
I haven't bought a new train for years, I have enough. "The APT has been re released" - I'm buying a new train this year and I'll keep the 40 year old one. Thank you Hornby and congratulations on 100 years of successful business.
Wish I still had my little Hornby I played with in Hillington Glasgow in 1944 during WW11 Nice to see something that hasn’t been discontinued years ago.
Rovex produced the original "Plunger" Princess Elizabeth locomotive back in 1950 for Marks & Spencer. I have one and the original brass railed track. It runs perfectly fine on all brands of OO track except the Series 1 track that it was originally sold with. Rovex underestimated demand for their product and asked Triang to take Rovex over, which they did later in 1950. In 1951 became branded as Triang Railways. Triang Railways also bought all the tooling from Trackmaster for the N2 0-6-2T clockwork tank locomotive, the 7 plank open wagon and the goods van. The company's product range has continued to grow larger ever since with some of the 1950's line side models and 1962 platforms still in production today.
Hi guy's, sorry if this seams a daft question but could you tell me what is the blue steam engine shown on the front cover of the Hornby magazine issue 138, I like the look of it and maybe would like to buy one if they are still available, any help would be appreciated, MANY THANKS
Great video, nice to see an in-depth look into the new range, a long video but one that’s easy to watch. Just on the Rovex train set it mimics the one released for the Christmas of 1950 as an exclusive for Marks & Spencers.
Hi Hornby. Really interested to know if the LNER east coast coaches will have the different coach interiors. I’ve seen on the sample models for the new sliding door mark 3 coaches the different interiors which go with different coach types. Do the LNER coaches have these interiors too??
Still also have the battery controller ! The early version did not have a front couplin ,the totem or lion badge was stamped into the plastic not a transfer.
Called in both Tescos and WH Smiths. Neither are aware of the combined price offer for the Hornby Magazine and 2020 Catalogue depicted towards the end of this video clip.
Wow...my dreams have been answered....I cannot believe how long it's took Hornby to relaunch the Apt from the 70s set... I model Ho scale but would would preorder this set without a thought.......I was going to get a 70s set and retro fit it out with dcc sound but now I will wait for this to come out... Great vid lads.... Jim.
Best video I’ve seen on the range so far . Got to laugh at Railroad plus . What’s the difference between that and the 66s that are in main range . They needed to sort out Railroad and Main Range but instead introduced a third variant! But overall it’s a great range . Hadn’t realised Duchess of Abercorn was diecast until your video . Already signed up for the Tri-ang Rocket pack .
I had Hornby as a child. Now I live in Japan and with my son am beginning to buy Tomix and Kato N scale stuff. I'm looking at Hornby now for the first time in a while and everything seems to be so expensive. How do people here feel about the pricing?
As an "N" modeller strictly 30's LMS (L&Y), only interest in the range not purchase, but I think the Steam Punk idea is truly brilliant. I can see a lot of 3D Print detailing appearing!!
It's a great range appealing to a wide audience.... I am glad there's a BR2MT 2-6-0 on the way but alas not a BR3MT 2-6-0 which holds more appeal to me. When will there ever be an RTR version of these 'Wee Standards'?
Have you forgotten about your 2019 catalogue? I pre-ordered R3808 HST is Cross Country livery in January 2019, The date on the Hornby website keeps changing and now says `Expected Spring 2020` I`m very disappointed, It`s easy for Hornby to announce models but they are unable to deliver.
great video for hornby 2020 but is it me or am I slow the new hst power car sets are now just at short of £290 are they both now powered with own motors if not the price seems a mighty increase that I for one will not being paying even if a great paint job. kind regards ralph
Very interested in the new App Based Analogue Controls part way through an end to end 4.5mt x 0.67mt with two main lines and nine sidings etc so have put everything wiring wise on hold and eagerly wait there release and further updates.
Excellent range! Pre ordered the Rovex set. Regarding the Tesco & Smith's promo, my local Smith's store didn't know about it. Is there an official announcement on the Hornby website?

It's also happy fiftyith to the ferry van and the hundred ton oil tanker two models that remain in the main range despite their age .l was selling both of these models in the 198os when I worked at various branches of Europe's leading model shops . They celebrate their twentieth anniversary since final closure . Hornby were a very important range to us despite being urged as much as possible to promote the lima British oo models to customers . I remember the battles over the hst sets . Lima being the slightly better model but hornby having the established name and full set of maintenance instructions.
A bit dissapointed, hoped that the L.M.brake van would be available in BR bauxite livery, have difficulty in obtaining this type for working fitted goods trains. Also noticed departmental coaches were all in post steam era liveries, I model 1950s LM steam era, I can just about get away with running no diesels....

I can't believe Hornby passed up such a great opportunity to re-release some of their early Battle Space and Trans Continental range. These items made Tri-Ang Hornby what they are today. Very disappointed..
Fantastic news on the releases, about time hornby are releasing the class 91,and as for the APT well that was out the blue, abit pricy, and depends on the drive as well, as for the rolling stock, some great news as well, only thing is missing some eastern region rolling stock, well done HORNBY!! what a great informative video to offset the utter dismay of first day back to work:-( superb video gents..loved every minute..there is some superb products coming which i am so looking forward to....wonderful!:-)
The question I have wasn't mentioned... it's all well and good that the 91 has been retooled, but does it also have a modern motor drive now too? A motor that will be able to pull the full 9 coaches + DVT, as the old model could barely pull 5...
A great way to show what is in the new Hornby Catalogue Especially for those that live abroad in countries where there are no model/craft shops. Not much new in the LNER range then? Early Era that is. Martin (Dhaka, Bangladesh. Yorkdale LNER Preservation Railway. (Facebook)
Can you please do for the princess coronation the city of Stoke-on-Trent please in br blue preferably because it is very special locomotives one of the three built by fairburn in 1946 it was loaned to the western region and it was the last one to have br blue removed in 1955 and it is the city were I grew up so hornby please do this locomotive 🚂 please
Would have been nice if one of the A2/2s had been in Apple Green or Express Blue, instead of both of them being in my opinion the awful Brunswick Green.

I was hoping Hornby will do more East midlands HSTs with EMR branding, will it happen and East coast HST in the grey livery?
Did the original Hornby Dublo Duchess of Atholl really have a plastic tender body? I thought it had a die cast chassis with a tinplate body.
It was also die cast.

1:34 - Oi Hornby, please don't let Lunar the workshop dog bite my train I've just ordered! My new train just mobiled me to say there's a wolf in the house that can't stop howling & growling at him! He's really scared & just wants to come home to Daddy! 👍🚂🚃🚃🚃🚄🚅🚉🛸🍺🍻🥃😁👍
Ha! You should see the outtakes!
Anyone else finding the Hornby web site a problem?
It's always slow on launch day.
I can't believe Hornby passed up such a great opportunity to re-release some of their early Battle Space and Trans Continental range. These items made Tri-Ang Hornby what they are today. Very disappointed..
Hello where is the adress of this hornby Store
Because i Want to buy some steam locomotives
Google is your friend :)
Fantastic news on the releases, about time hornby are releasing the class 91,and as for the APT well that was out the blue, abit pricy, and depends on the drive as well, as for the rolling stock, some great news as well, only thing is missing some eastern region rolling stock, well done HORNBY!! ( simon and the gang)
Thanks for the comment Daniel!
😚Hi Mike, it as been excellent seeing the new Hornby Catalogue put over in this TH-cam Format with Richard @NJ, I have really enjoyed watching it, already a subscriber and Huge 👍Thumbs Up 👍
Thanks Jamie, really pleased you enjoyed it!
It is a shame that Hornby cannot sync the exhaust beats with the valve gear. It ruins the illusion!
practice makes perfect!
what a great informative video to offset the utter dismay of first day back to work:-( superb video gents..loved every minute..there is some superb products coming which i am so looking forward to....wonderful!:-)
Thanks, pleased you enjoyed it!
The virgin set with diff types of same mark. Can you tell me what’s the diff between all the diff designs
The question I have wasn't mentioned... it's all well and good that the 91 has been retooled, but does it also have a modern motor drive now too? A motor that will be able to pull the full 9 coaches + DVT, as the old model could barely pull 5...
Ground up completely brand new loco
@@hornbymag excellent 😁 cheers!
A great way to show what is in the new Hornby Catalogue Especially for those that live abroad in countries where there are no model/craft shops. Not much new in the LNER range then? Early Era that is. Martin (Dhaka, Bangladesh. Yorkdale LNER Preservation Railway. (Facebook)
Abbot and Costello?

Yep
Brilliant - very comprehensive, clear and delivered with real enthusiasm. The very opposite of 'The Signal Box' :)
I agree. That's the way to do it. Well done guys.
Thanks both, really glad you enjoyed the format!
Would have been nice if one of the A2/2s had been in Apple Green or Express Blue, instead of both of them being in my opinion the awful Brunswick Green.
I'm sure they'll follow

I hope so. Though I am super stoked on the W1 actually getting a release, which is something I never thought I'd see.
Very very Poignant, well done.
