The most stealthy enemy we had so far was the acid spitter
Exploders:
@@windbeneathmywings4884 exploders glow and they give you like 2 whole seconds to run away once you hear it charge up. Acid spitters though, they blend in well with most biomes, and the only sound they make is when they spit, at which point you have less than a second to react, assuming they are even far enough from you to give you a chance.
As long as the new enemies can’t yoink you
Yeah, having another enemy that can reach out and give you the bad touch like the Stingtail would be rough 😂
where's the fun in that?
Yoink enemies are the best
Stingtail is more like slingtail lmao
Im fairly certain the scary crawly one grabs you, and drags you off into the dark. Like the sand shark, but worse.
I like the stingtail and septic spreader personally. I don’t care what they send BRING IT ON!!!!
NOW THATS A DWARF RESPONSE!
Real dwarves use Septic Spreader as target practice
INCREDIBLE ATTITUDE DWARF. ROCK AND STONE 🗣🔥
STONE AND ROCK, Oh wait-
*loads overclocked grenade launcher*
The hoxxes crawler... now that we are digging deeper, we may find something new information on Karl's whereabouts... heres to hoping we find him in one piece.
We must find Karl!
For Karl!
Fakarl!
Seriously though, I kind of hope we’ll never actually find out who Karl really is, because at this point it’s too built up in to many people’s minds.
Is Karl the one piece?
@@Takenmynameandmycat I don't know for sure but I'm pretty sure this is what it's gonna be, I think at one point the devs spoke on this in a dev stream. He's a mythical figure at this point and putting a definitive Karl in the game would ruin the fun of the whole myth. I could be misremembering tho but this would be preferable imo
2:03 that's just how drg enemy spawns work, some enemies are considered "disruptive" (dangerous enemies that can easily ruin a whole mission and should be killed ASAP) and at the start of every mission, some of the disruptive enemies are chosen to spawn in the cave and others can't - the spreader is one of them so if it's chosen there will be a lot of them or he just won't be chosen and there won't be a single one
this can also be useful because iirc there can only be 4 disruptive enemies so if you get for example spreaders, mactera grabbers, mactera goo bombers and shellbacks then all 4 slots are filled and you know that web spitters and bulks cannot ever spawn in that mission
also if you only saw 3 of them multiple times and never saw a 4th one it most likely means that the 4th one is a bulk since they spawn very non-frequently
EDIT: guy in replies explained this a bit better and more correctly, definitely check that out
also one more thing, if u think about it almost all of disruptive enemies can be countered by, mostly because of accuracy, mobility and single target burst damage. u hear a spreader? grapple away and kill it before it can even bother team on uplink. similar story with stingtail, or menace. and note that all of them have unique noise, so u know its somewhere near without seeing it.
Huh, well, thanks for the insight on the spawning mechanics!
Slight correction: septic spreader and web spitter are not in disruption pool.
Current disruption pool is: goo bomber, grabber, menace, warden, shellback, stingtail and Bulk detonator. You get 3 disruption types on haz 5, two on 4, one on three and two, and none on 1.
You might be confused, because goo bomber and grabber can be spawned as part of normal macterra plague swarm, and as separate disruption enemy. So on haz 5 macterra plague you could get 5 disruption types)
Spreader, spitters and some others are in special pool, who are spawned differently, but they can be all encountered in the same mission. I think they are spawned as % per wave, but not sure.
So if you have a bulk detonator in a round, that takes away a regular ‚disruptive‘ slot? Explains why I usually see two bulks If the round already had one.
@@Raghetiel I rlly want to understand the special pool better
Also are Tri jaws and Brundles also in the special pool or in a mactera veteran pool (kinda like how opressors can replace pretorians and how slashers/guards can replace grunts)
Btw Im calling it now, the Stalker is DEFINITELLY going to be in the disruptive pool
I think we should be excited, because even if the enemy is unbalanced in the start, it'll most likely be fixed and add variety to the fight
yes
I think we should be EXTREMELY worried about the subterranean horror.
this reads like a tweet you'd read if you were in another dimension
Now that I think about it, you're right.
By the way it moves the "creeper" reminds me a lot of the hunter from left for dead 2. would be pretty cool if it had a grapple move that had to be interrupted by either team mates or the Awareness perk
The fact they're called spawn, too, and are a unique species... I have a feeling these are just the starting cycle to a VERY scary force that might get bigger and more deadly in the 'life cycle or 'hierarchy'. What lies deeper? Will we dig too deep?
Im glad we got the s4 enemies we got. They are difficult and i appreciate there being more priority targets to kill. Hope the new ones spice it up even more.
Same but God stingtails suck, the ability to just down you instantly under pretty common circumstances with the only thing you can do to prevent that is kill it before it attacks sucks
@rift7609 I think it’s possible to dodge their tail if you look out for it
@@rift7609good argument, however: bulk
@@shwingleman huh why does the air look weir-
Since I wasn't around in season 1 and 2, how did the balancing with rival enemies work?
About the stalker: I already get snuck up on by exploders and just regular grunts, we don't need this 😭
For the new enemies: I'd rather have them be super strong and then get nerfed than super weak and then get buffed. That way we kind of get rewarded instead of punished.
Edit: I know I edited this a ton, but I didn't want to be the guy that makes 7 different comments.
I don't recall too much about the robots in season 1, but I remember when season 2 came out the nemesis was VERY aggressive. Like several would spawn during a rival presence, sometimes right above you. And also i was told that during the season 2 early access it could grab you out of the drop pod. So they balanced but uh, making it not do that
Generally speaking, they were tougher and the projectiles were faster.
Nemesis while more aggressive was weaker to heat so it could be hard countered.
The hacking bot event was so difficult it was basically a swarm event happening over and over before turned into the Haz1 difficulty event it is now
@@warriorfire8103 I almost still wish bots had a few more weakness (electricity would have been brilliant instead of fire, but I guess every class has access to fire soooo).
@@warriorfire8103 ah right, now I remember. I remember that if you missed a node during the event you'd basically lose, you had such little time
@SIMULACRA37 actually that's another thing. While the small bots are more resistant to fire, they're effected by cold now.
Electric doesn't do much damage but the slow is nice
I like new challenges, new moments that show me that I have to overcome and adapt to (coming from soulsborne games). I hope that if there will be a necessary nerf it won't nerf them to the ground like they did with the stingtail.
I love watching your videos, keep up the good work, rock and stone!
NO.
You guys get ONE unbalanced damage number and a skill issue magnifier, and suddenly you think Ghost Ship is incompetent like AAA dev? The new enemies are FINE.
I'm pretty sure the barrage infector projectles will behave the way the arbalest's grenades do.
No enemies can be ass disruptive as the stingtail
I hope they're not trying to disrupt...
*that...*
One shard difractor solves the problem.
you have weapons for a reason brother.
I'd argue bulks and even shellbacks are just as disruptive if handled poorly (or just an unlucky spawn) we're just not as used to the stingtails since the others have been here so long
Just to say I'm only at around 2 minutes in the video but, I feel like the new addition of new enemy types will be a lot of fun for the player base to combat. The inclusion of the "creeper" is a great change and I love the fact that Ghost Ship is bringing horror type elements to the world of Deep Rock. The Sting-tail and the Septic Spreader enemies are fine as they are and I'm not sure why people are complaining about them. Personally, I like the inclusion of these wacky game changing enemies because it makes missions harder and that's what makes the game fun, having a challenge to combat.
Would be really funny if the creeper makes flares and flashlights turn off in a zone around it.
@@SIMULACRA37 that would be awesome, and terrifying
I can understand your worry but the devs of this game are rare to find. Anyone can see they love there game and the people who play it. I trust the game devs will hear our community and change things when needed.
A concern about the ceiling new monster: how lit will be its sensory pods? Are they easily identifiable without a scout? Are they identifiable inside a big and tall cave, where normal dwarves can't shoot flares uo the ceiling?
First of all, I would've murdered that scout 5:42
You're just asking for it as an scout player sitting in the C4 and your bronze 2? you knew what was gonna happened. Like look at 8:48
He's asking for it!
In terms of the problems you listed for our two stationary friends, I don't think they're gonna be a issue. The damage, rarity, firerate, hp, are all just number tweaks for the most part. From the their designs and behavior, I imagine they're just gonna be like trijaws and brundles are to spawns and act as a occasional variant of the spitballer and give a little spice outside of spitballers, cave leeches, and brood nexuses you gotta clear up in a large room. I think my only concern for them is how visible they are. They do have glowing parts on them like the spitballer does with its ball thing in its chest and back of the head. I'm just worried it won't be as noticeable as that and you could pass one without realizing it really easily.
I can't say much for the other 2 enemies because they're very different from every other enemy in the game due to them being stealth based. I will say though that the stingtail and septic spreader were hard to deal with because the only way to deal with them was to kill them before they kill you. You could dodge a sting tail but it wouldn't matter because he's just gonna do it again and they're so tanky that its hard to consistently burst them down. Now he has a cooldown and much less tanky. Septic spreaders would just constantly lob projectiles and zone you out from approaching them. Now you can shoot their projectiles down. They were a problem because the only way to deal with them was to kill or be killed. With these new stealth enemies, I fear that these enemies will share that same thought process. I would hope that they just come in, break your shields, and run away. Act like a hit and run enemy and wear you down than "you didn't see me? I kill you" enemy. Kinda like stalkers from Helldivers 2.
real as hell i hate it when i drop a plastic nuke down and suddenly the 3 scouts that joined my game all magnetize to it like a moth to a flame. then they stay in it for half of the wave!! 😭😭
Actually though, what is he doing smh. Stop lingering in the blast zone.
I'm excited for the new bugs. Tweaks are expected and as with every single enemy ever relased including the slashers/guards. Players will learn and devs will make tweaks.
Me personally, i dont care what they make. aslong as it gives me a challenge ILL ROCK N' STONE MY WAY THROUGH
I will be so happy if the crawler is a disabler type enemy.
my thought on the crawler is that once you steal the stone, it starts to slowly sneak up on your group, attacking every 10 min or so kinda like the doppleganger from ror2
OOOOOOOOO
I feel like the crawler will act like the jockey from left for dead or its just a tease and won’t actually attack you and will just run away.
i literally commented that it would be like the hunter! funny to see others thinking alike. i think it will actually serve a gameplay purpose though
Imagine having the best day of your life in the cave without no problems just mining nitra and gold and then you just hear crawling behind you I need to turn around and like in the far distance. there's two white dots this slowly get bigger and then the creeper/crawler just comes out of nowhere and just grabs you the grabbing mechanic could be very cool for this guy plus terrifying. imagine just hearing your friends say: "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA HELP ME A THING GOT ME AAAAAAAAAaaaaaaa... It will be hilarious 🤣🤣🤣
okay i was gonna ignore that you didn't mention the bha barnacle thing because i assumed it was recorded before todays stream but you mentioned it so ig you just missed that part of the stream?
EDIT: okay im dumb tehyre a secondary objective not an enemy
what barnacle thing?
@@flats6666 on the live stream, one of the missions had a secondary objective to destroy 22 BHA barnacles, which means that we're getting a new secondary objective in season 5
THESE NEW CRAWLERS ARE TERRIFYING
They dont look bug like. They look disturbingly primate like..
some time ago devs mentioned enemy type which could put off/turn off our flares (what we are dropping with F) I'm excited for that one
In the stream one of the devs said the stalker deactivates your shield for 10 seconds and by the looks of it the stalker has a hit-and-run tactic so he pisses off either after attacking or after getting attacked (not sure which one). They also said it does have a sound cue, it’s like a sizzling or smth
As long as they arent as crazy as the original stingtail and septic spreader, they were BRUTAL on release
9:05 just cracked me up for no reason, just the way he casually continues talking while the skit plays out
When season 5 comes out, I'll be playing both drg and helldivers 2 and maybe some lethal company or content warning, also stalkers are probably based on the enemy with the same name in the helldivers games
I can see the drillers sticky fuel being a counter to the stalker due to the fire buildup and hp bar highlighting its location
If the stalker is more cloak but more spooky audio cues, then I'd love it, spooky expeditions 🥰
What I told everyone that was mad last season. Turn the difficulty down for a few missions and learn the best strategies. For years we’ve wanted harder enemies and they gave them to us so complaining about them when you walk in unknowing and die I blame you!
I feel like the creeper might end up just being a reskin glyphid, it kinda moves in the same way.
I would be a bit lame, but it could also add ambiance to the rogue core event.
That, or they are just teasing a rogue cord enemy.
New enemies is great for the game more combat variety is fun
I fear for the day we finally encounter a fully formed dreadnought.
Remember, all dreadnaughts fought on record are from cacoons we interrupt growth and don't ever let form or give a chance to form for 'science'... management are smart for this 'we're NOT gonna F*** around and find out' policy with the dread, but the day we get the fully mature dreadnought is gonna be a rough time, indeed. Rock and Stone, Brothers.
If we get new enemies I hope we space goblins either as the people behind the rival company (though I think that's space elves) or some kind of ore pirates who are after the gold and other minerals the team collect but either have some tech or ore of their own that's worth collecting for the company besides having missions to take out their outposts or big machines that pose a threat
I Imagine the crawler Just doesnt Like light? It hates light? Cuz its from the core?
If the enemy actually avoids light areas that would be insanely cool
I think it's a good idea to introduce the crawler to Deep Rock Galactic.
Rogue Core sounds like a more visceral, horror-themed game. Having the enemy introduced to Deep Rock Galactic proper will give us some compare and contrast.
I was just thinking about how drg lacked the ambusher enemy class all the famous horde shooters have. Like the left 4 dead hunter or the payday cloaker.
One of the big problems with the sting tail is I had trouble finding its weak spot
Worry? Naaaah... i have my fat boi over here, now... let me chug this two Blackrock before we go, aaaaand... what can possibly go wrong!?
the amount of times i accidentally bring out my fat boy instead of platform gun to clutch a fall and just end up nuking both my legs is insane
16:31 In the lower part you can see that the floor has been destroyed maybe this is the answer to the question if the barage infector can destroy the floor?!
very true, could've been from a player but i guess we'll have to wait and see
@@flats6666 The holes are too big for an autocannon and what else makes so many holes?
They're doing excellent with the new monster designs ❤
Yall know that half life 2 bug king (forgot what they are called) they should add a creature like that where there is a huge ass glyphid that tries to ram you
I do hope the devs learned from the stingfails to actually test the new enemies properly. The amount of times a pre-nerf bug yeeted me in the air and caused to me to die from pure fall damage alone is much higher than it has any right to.
There’s also the barnacle thingy from the livestream
I have feeling that glyphid stalker will be nightmare on higher difficulties.
I think the creeper will either stroke once some time has passed without being noticed, or when you see it close up
Stroke? Pause.
@@davidstratton696 strike, I typed that up quickly and didn’t read it before posting
They didn't showcase Pump Action :(
sad, cant wait to try it soon

@@toebrush jacob even chose it and then switched to fkn SMRT OC.
@@xm214-aminigun9 smart rifle, dumb developer
big sad, they'll most likely show it in the later live streams before the release of season 5
As a casual player who plays around haz3-haz2, im rather excited about the new enemies!
HAZ 5 FOREVER!!!!! seriously though i think they'll be great on all missions
Crawler
aw man
Oh you have to be kidding me They have posable thumbs!
MOM there is a weird fucking cat out there
creeper:
There is a whole mission mod that disables your shield lol
i dont think the stalker will be that bad, slashers already break your shield in a single hit, and so do most disruptive enemies. if they dont inflict a slow effect like slashers do they may even be less dangerous than them sometimes.
I’m excited for the stealth enemy for one reason: the trolls in my lobbies who are running around 100m away from the rest of the team on gunner of all classes.
I hope this enemy is designed to target lone dwarves, that would be a really good way to encourage more team play and coordination
I’m not. It sounds annoying af. And as for attacking lone dwarves. Yea let’s fuck Scout’s with this move.
I don't particularly believe any update they've had has been "controversial" considering you can kinda just roll it back nowm
i think the devs do it on purpose. just look at the other games like deep rock survivor. the new enemies in that game are op and buggy. i think they enjoy trolling the playerbase with very difficult enemies at the start to see how people deal with it. this has also been done when they added the new elites and even season 1 and 2 with the robots.
I dont know if somebady said already but an early prototype of stalker was found in the season 4 beta (Aka Experimental Branch of season 4) by a Russian youtuber "Doomer". If youre interested, wathc this video "Обзор UPDATE 38 для DEEP ROCK GALACTIC (4 сезон)" and skip to this timestamp 12:18 on his video
My worst and only enemy is cave leech everytime got killed by it. 😅 These new ones doesnt look like tread to me.
Only thing I worry about is making Karl proud!
ROCK AND STONE!
I love the stingtails so much tbh, it's my favorite enemy to fight
Now the stingtails are in a good spot. GSG has been pretty good about balancing everything outside of the overclocks
I dont get why so many people think so much about it. I never had a problem with any mob yet. No matter before or after nerfs. How do people get mad about mobs in a PVE shooter. The purpose of an enemy is that it is threatening.
it's great that you loved them i did too, and definitely am not that worried about the new ones either. i definitely had my fair share of frustration when fighting pre-rework stingtails. when like 2-3 of them come in during a haz 4-5 and constantly yoink you from getting a clutch revive (ESPECIALLY IF YOU HAD TO IRON WILL) then it's just not so fun. sort of felt like there wasn't much you COULD and there isn't much fun in only being able to lose!
Before nerfs stingtail broke the tradeoff rule, it both had range, was very dangerous, and was very tanky. When something has no weaknesses it’s tough but not very fun to deal with cause there’s no puzzle element to deal with
@@saycap and now it has every weakness and falls apart like a wet noodle. They overnerfed it imo
@@spoopyboi1882 by every weakness do you mean one weakness by not being tanky? Because it's still strong in all other aspects
@@saycap they are not strong at all anymore. Less range, higher cooldown, and easier to dodge. It's barely a threat if a threat at all. Pair that with how absolutely quickly it falls apart to damage now, and it's just a wet noodle. You have to seriously not be paying attention to get got by a stingtail
Didn't they say it was a hit and run creature?
If it's just like season 4 with new enemies but no real reward then yes
All i know is those bugs must die FOR KAAAARRRLLL!!!
Helldivers 2 collab???
WAIT WE CAN SHOOT THE PROJECTILES?!
Games are annoying these days. Add difficulty people complain and it gets nerfed. Smh. Spreader and stingtail were not even that bad originally. Aside from the fact that there are three other people that rez you normally. I never see the issue. They were dangerous they but not overpowered.
Hot fix didn’t do a damn thing
No yawning ?
Nope
No disrespect man, but this video is overthinking to the max. They look cool as hell, and an additional challenge should be welcomed.
To the point of the stingtails and spreaders, it's like they weren't even given a chance before the complaints rolled in. It's like people were extremely averse to adaptation and overcoming shit. Remember when, in an effort to concede to the complaints, the septic spreaders were completely passive? Pepperridge farm remembers
Just look forward to new shit, give it some time to see how well people adapt to the new challenges, and if there's still problems afterwards then we can talk about nerfs or buffs
The septic thing was a bug present from release lol it had nothing to do with complaints.
0:54 Thats not a bug💀
skinwalker!!!......or i guess it's an exoskeleton-walker in this case but that doesn't sound nearly as cool.
Nah mate, im definetly gonna run fatboy 24-7 because of this thing
nothing wrong with that
I hate that it has eyes eyes! Why in deep rock eyes
never had an issue with stingtail. you jump the very moment their chime ends. easy
yk sometimes a good bomber, web spitter, or slasher can really make that work out in the stingtail's favor. also i think when they released and there were could be like 3-4 all spawning at once it was a very different story for most 😂
Stingtails can even save you by pulling you up out of a hole or a bind. You can use your Dash to complement it and prevent most damage.
GOBLINS!!!!!!!
I see spy
y e s
stingtales are easy as hell I dunno what ya'll people are talking about just get better
Honestly, the crawler might be weird looking and novel, but in terms of functionality it looks like it could just be a reskinned glyphid with some extra ability or ai.
Im going to be dissapointed if the creep shows up only from core stones, I REALLY want it to be a normal enemy that can show up in any mission like Qronars or Cave Leeches or Goo Bombers
yeah having it delegated to only one game mode would kind of stink unless they're supposed to be pretty hard to fight, sort of similar to dreadnaughts
@@flats6666 exactly
If the core stone spawns creepers I wouldnt mind but dont keep them delegated to that event
Ok the stingtail wouldn’t have been so bad if they suggested using stun or fear to stop them from getting you.
