I wish I was free to go at the time. How great that these ladies took the time to share their stories! There is always some new enlightenment. I think just watching the love of the art of acting just pour from their eyes...and certainly their respect and admiration of Jonathan. Thank you.
I love this series so much. There is magic in these reels that only exists on film now. Not everyone can see it and those that us who can are among the blessed. I am a part of the brethen!
I was there. It was a pleasure seeing Sharon Lentz, Donna Wandrey and Marie Wallace. We made a day of it by visiting Lyndhurst Mansion where the House of and Night of Dark Shadows was filmed.
It's nice to hear all the lovely memories about Jonathan, and how kind he was. I'm not surprised to hear of how nice a person he was. Most people who play the bad guy are really lovely in person! Not that Barnabas was really such a bad guy later on the show. He became more a hero, didn't he. To me he really is a hero. He served in the Canadian Navy during WWII, and that, to me, is very wonderful and heroic! If he were still with us, I would love to give him a Remembrance Day poppy, from Canada, and then give him a big hug! Rest in peace, dear Jonathan! ~Janet in Canada
Love listening to these beautiful ladies and their wonderful stories. Can't believe Mr. Frid would have been one hundred years old this year. To me, he will always be around fifty years old, acting, and enjoying his life.
Watching the pre-Barnabas "Phoenix" (the late Diana Millay - Laura Collins) storyline now on the free streaming channels. Back in the early 80's when I was a teen, New Jersey Network began showing it beginning with the introduction of Barnabas. What a hoot. I was hooked (or bitten so-to-speak).Dark Shadows was just about 16 years old then. Now it's closing in on 60 years....Remembering those Jonathan Frid pandering for NJN pledge drive commercials...
I’ve loved watching Dark Shadows since the late sixties. I discovered it by chance on afternoon, and from that day on my Mom and I watched it together.
I watched all of Dark shadows last year. I love the show. I remember being in Highschool and my dad would have me seet my vcr tv to tape the episodes off of the sci-fi channel so he could watch later.
How incredible it must have been to work with such an incredible performer and gentleman. I only met him once, but I'll never forget it. Wonderful recollections here
Loved the show since 12/14/1967. Have met most of the surviving actors/actresses at the festivals. This is a great video. Love Sharon, Marie, and Donna. Thank you for sharing this.
Many, many thanks for filming and posting this wonderful gathering celebrating the 100th birthday of Jonathan Frid!!! As a first generation fan, I so loved hearing the stories and memories from Marie, Donna and Sharon of their time with Jonathan on Dark Shadows. I found myself smiling throughout, but also tearing up a bit with all the nostalgia. 💗👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🥹
Thanks for the video- I couldn’t make this great east coast event, but was able to “haunt” Burbank and meet many wonderful actors and fans!! So glad that Dark Shadows Yet Lives! - Alan Gallant
I am so sorry to have missed this occasion! I love these beautiful ladies and admire them so! I laughed and cried at their stories. Thank you for making this possible to experience ❤❤❤
I love hearing about Jonathan from cast mates and friends. It makes me feel so much closer to him even though I only heard about Jonathan through DARK SHADOWS a year or two ago. I’m a fan from the gen x generation. Barnabas Collins who is portrayed by Jonathan will ALWAYS be my favorite vampire. No other person could’ve portrayed him as well as Jonathan. Thank you ladies for sharing your stories
Loving this video and all the wonderful memories of Jonathan but it stopped playing while Sharon was talking about her life after Dark Shadows so I’ll keep revisiting to see if I can watch the rest at some point
This was a lot of fun to watch, with these three special ladies sharing stories about what a sweet man Jonathan was. I hope that David Selby's tribute to JF is something that you can share at some point or perhaps share some of the letters Jonathan wrote as PDFs.
Thank you so very much for posting this wonderful video! And thank you for creating the excellent documentary and this TH-cam channel to celebrate and honor Jonathan Frid! I watched Dark Shadows when I was a child, and now, 55 years later, I am just rediscovering DS and realizing what a truly great actor Mr Frid was! Is anything planned to celebrate his 100th birthday on December 2nd... in person or online?
Fab interview! Thanks for posting. All three of these ladies were incredibly lovely and so generous to share an hour of their time. I’m on my 2nd rewatch of the series and just finished 1795. Everyone is back in the present now. Anywho, this was a wonderful interview and….can I be as sassy and spicy as Marie when I get to be her age? 😂🩷
