This reminds of some good advice I heard when I was younger. A lot of restaurants fail because they are started by someone that loves cooking and is good at it, then when they get too busy they inevitably hire more cooks. Then they are forced to do the books, the managing, and then also watch all the cooks to make sure they are all doing it right. It’s not long before someone that loves cooking so much they wanted it to be their job is doing everything but cooking. Quality declines, the owner gets burned out and business mistakes are made, then the place closes down. Instead they should have hired managers, a bookkeeper, and others to handle all the things they don’t enjoy doing and keep cranking out fun and delicious meals. Thanks for relating this to our industry and dishing out the great advice.
I like the video mate! Some really interesting stuff for me to think about as I grow my own business. One thing I noticed is that you referenced "a couple of weeks" as being "ages" at 6:12, to get content back to clients. My delivery time to clients is 2-4 weeks which is a healthy return time in my opinion, especially when working with regular clients where you plan content and shoots in advance of when they need them.
Hi Ross, thank you for your valuable information you have been sharing in your videos. I have been a viewer for about a month now and have gained a lot of knowledge from them. I have a question that I hope you could help me with. Recently, I decided to specialize in creating videos for IT companies as my niche. However, a friend of mine advised me that this may not be a profitable niche and that I should instead focus on businesses that target customers. I have done extensive research on this, but I'm still feeling stuck and unsure of what to do next. Given your experience in this field, I would greatly appreciate any suggestions or recommendations you may have. Thank you in advance for your time and help.
Thanks lots! It brings me a more clear idea of what kind of employee I first could need for my business
So happy that the information in this video is of value to you.
Best of luck with taking on your first employee. Let us know how it goes. 😊
