@JohnnyAppleseed You can bet flop or if you check flop then continue to check/call. Bad move raising the turn, just call and then make a decision on river. If Garrett is bluffing then you want him to continue to bluff.

I love how garrett just keeps stacking his chips imperiously while not acknowledging any of the table talk after the hand lol. Made Mike look like a rec player whos trying to make his session a success making a huge call while having such thin value headed to the river.

Also the best hand to have against aces is a low suited connected like 56, 67, or 78
That's one quality of a great poker player. Your poker game is not quite at the high stake level if you haven't master that quality. Even Mikey has been a pro for many years and playing big cash games you can visually see his negative/weak body reaction...loss of breath.

But it’s a good hand to call with to see if you can hit the flop hard because Mike’s hand is so face up and you can just fold if u don’t hit.

Declaring who has pieces and which people might be horses for the same staker is the ethical thing to do. I think this should be a rule in tournament poker as well.

PIECES - Percentage of the player's wins, losses or both.
HORSES - Players who are staked.
@@nof6015 he explained but stated differently, a staker finances players. Since the players are in the game, they are the actual horses in the race. The players have individual agreements as to how the money is paid back to the staker and if there is profit, how that is shared.
Why does this matter? If 2 or 3 players on the table are staked by the same person, they might not play against each other and only go after 'your' chips.

I started watching it and rewound it to the beginning because I was at work during the beginning, then an hour through it the video cut and said "video unavailable" cuz you guys privated the VOD. Please make it public, Hellmuth and The Mouth are two of my favorites!
Didn't watch the whole stream but props to Garrett for not replying to Phil, I really respect his play and this was good to see him take the high road

The truth is both Matusow and Hellmuth are considered the fish in this game. It's good Phil mentioned he had a piece of Matusow so we knew how he could afford to play.
I agree especially Mike i think. Helmuth is an amazing tournament player though. He's just so easy to read though at the table. He gives off so many tells.

The slo-mo meltdown from Hellmuth in the aftermath was hilarious, while Garrett showed just why he's truly a world class player AND human being....excellence defined.

Good idea. And it's especially significant here since Matusow only left himself 12k behind when raising on the turn. So it was 12k to win 82k. Matusow is almost obligated to call, which makes his click back raise look pretty dumb.
They would but sometimes people are behind on chips. It does reflect correctly when all in is called after. But if you can’t do the math, I feel bad for you son lol

That's 19 hands that straight up beat AA after all 5 community cards are played. We can make it 20 hands with 7 plus any card as it's only the 7 that makes the straight from the two hole cards. No point in me adding 27,37,47,57,77,Q7,K7 or A7 it's the 7 that would make the 6,7,8,9,10 straight.
In one hand, we can see the future of poker, Garett! And the past, with Mike and Phil! Phil is a kid!

He plays way above his stakes he's basically broke. Playing poker that way will cause you to make terrible mistakes just because of your anxiety. That's the only thing I can think of

It could be a good play if Garrett had a set, as it may cause Garrett to slow down. But generally it's still a bad play as most players won't fold or slow down a set

@@erikkoch1923 It's not a great price. Mike's effective stack size is 37k. 76s has only a 5% chance to flop strong, so you better be getting 20x call size when you hit. Mike's stack isn't big enough, but keep calling with 76s donks. You're the kind of player I profit against.
DoctorChained It would be facing a 3b which is what I thought it was when half watching the first time through. Anyway poker is played with 5 cards, the ability to bluff and Garrett has position. It’s fine.

Actually I think statistically it is the #1 hand to beat Aces. And when Aces lose it's often to a straight. All of which occurred here.

Of course, you'd have to not be a donk and stroke aggrotard's genitals to understand that. A 5% chance to flop well, you better be getting 20x effective call size at least when you hit. This is basic math. Something the new aggrotards are supposed to be good at.

I like how Phil comes in and announces that 'I have four things to say to everybody' and then proceeds to list off four items of varying importance one of which includes getting a coffee. It shows that his thinking is very methodical which is no wonder considering his astounding success at poker.

4-bet, not a “cold 4-bet” by MM preflop. “Cold” doesn’t mean “out of position” or “sick,” it means you had no money in the pot before you raised. I see this term misused a lot these days.

Phil plays cash games like he's playing a tournament. I'm convinced he wouldn't be profitable against decent 5-10$ players.
Not sure why preflop Mike only 4 bets $3100 more with a $42k stack vs a guy who has him covered who also has position. Seems to be a time to make it $7-8k to give a pocket pair or suited connector a bad price to call. Garrettt is getting like 14:1 implied odds with his 76s in position heads up.
@@mike88g1 Yeah, it's just, it makes it really easy for Garrett to just peel the flop with 55 or something, and just stack Mike who is going to be weighted toward JJ+ a ton. It just makes the hand pretty easy to play from Garrett's perspective. Obv it depends on how Garrett plays when the board comes 962 etc, how often he calls flop/turn unimproved, but if he only gets it in when he flops pair+draw or flop straight, 2 pair, trips, flush etc, he's doing alright with the call.

Despise him? Apparently you're as emotional as he is. What you need to understand is that Phil still has intermediate-level player emotions. And that's why many people laugh at his emotional reactions. He complains about people's actions. If he name-called a lot as well, that would be crossing the line.

One of the easiest laydowns ever. He did realize he only had 1 pair. That board was plenty wet for a 4 bet call pre flop. Pocket 8's, 9's or 10's could've easily played that line. Q-J suited, 10-9 suited is easily there. Maybe a timid KK pre is there too.
