Another great irish tune for my newby level of daily practice. Love it. Will take me a long road still to get to tour ornamentation level, but your an inspiration to keep going. Thanks for posting this one as well. ❤
This is one of the first songs my school taught me on the pennywistle when I started the extra pennywistle playing club... This song is very close to me. Thank you so much for covering it! xx ❤❤ (Edit) OMG I love how it was your first tune too ❤❤
Oh, I love this tune! I've also heard it used in a Christmas song called "The Seven Rejoices of Mary," and in a song you'd probably find incredibly obscure, called "If You Could Hie to Kolob." Well. Maybe I'll try playing this tomorrow. It's an excellent song.
@LamanKnight I didn't pick up on the Hie to Kolob, maybe because she played it a little faster than I've heard the Kolab song. I'm not Morman, as that's a Morman hymn, but there is a good version of Kolab mixed with Come Thou Fount on YT.
Hi Stephanie, Thank you for doing this one. I always like it when you post a tutorial on a song that stays low enough in the second octave that I can convert the tabs and play it on the N.A.S.F. Until next time
@@TheMtnmamma On Stephanie's tutorials she places the notes for a key of D tin whistle under each fingering diagram. Use a chromatic scale fingering chart for Native American Style Flute in the key of D, and some blank tableture and start scribbling. I made a conversion chart with a row of tin whistle tabs across the top and the corresponding N.A.S.F. tabs underneath. I've been doing it long enough I can make the conversions in my head. Have fun with it. Wichozani Mithakuye
Thank you for the wonderful song Stephanie! Can you show us the subtle movements that are not on the chart? I see your fingers doing things that aren't on there and I can't quite get them. ❤
This song is a perfect tin whistle tune! And you played it so well. Always looking for a new tune, and i might just pick this one. Does your husband still play? Maybe a duet one day?
@@nehrert aww thank you. I do it occasionally as a reminder of how to add ornaments. It's a very personal thing though, entirely up to you where you add them. I have a few separate tutorials on how to play ornaments and how to add them to any tune. I don't often make detailed videos like this one as I like to encourage people to add ornaments themselves ❤️
Thank you my dear Stefanie, it's a good help to finisch the Sunny day with my whistle. You've to know, I am a German Guy and it's not easy to learn the Irish feeling. But it getting better.🪈
One of my first tunes too! I like to blast it out in the second octave to scare the wolves. Try it, it works.

Nice that you have taken a traditional tune again. Thanks.
Perfect tutorial! Love how you have included the ornaments at a slow speed - that is so helpful to beginners like me. Thank you 🙏
One of my favourite tunes to play, quick to learn and sounds great. Thank you! ❤

One of my favorite tunes! Thanks for showing the ornament options too!
I just bought an Island bamboo flute, this will be perfect. Thank you again for doing what you do. You’re an inspiration to us all. 😀👍
Great tune! The first time I heard this song was by the British singer, songwriter and musician Roger Whittaker many moons ago. 😊🎤🎸🎶

Another favorite, but this time it's one I didn't learn yet! I needed this today. That extra ornaments section will be a help too.
Very nice. A light happy tune. With excellent play.
It’s one of my favorite Irish songs to sing along with. It wi be a joy to learn to play it on my tin whistle. Thanks and congratulations on 100K.

Easy for beginners but satisfying for anyone, I think. Does your husband still play music?
He played this one tune and that was enough 🤣
Yeah, my wife tried to teach me to knit. I made one wonky dish washing cloth and haven't touched a knitting needle again. 😁
Love u
I love this song. ❤ But I dont know how to use ornaments. I need a class for dummies 😅

I believe this tune was also used in a song by Horatius Bonar named “I Heard The Voice of Jesus Say”!
Thank you, Stephanie!!!😊

It’s nearly the same tune as, The Lancashire Lads about the First World War.
