  • I’ve set myself a challenge to use opposing techniques on two paintings. It’s surprisingly difficult!

    I’m addicted to my catalyst wedge ( or sometimes an old credit card or kitchen spatula, all much the same!). Weirdly what i need to do to change things up is actually use brushes. I just love the feel and look of smearing paints together, it makes my inner toddler so so happy!

      Oh yes, smearing paint is very toddler appropriate 😄
      Interesting. Maybe try a few unusual brushes, they might be more interesting to use.

      Another beautiful sharing ❤. Thank you. I love how you challenge yourself. I used to concentrate on one painting on a time but now, I have fun moving around many paintings . And I love using different tools including regular life items: as sponges, brushes, etc . but I love a lot the knife pallets. I can have different marks and strokes depending on which one I’m using.
      I’ve one question though, how you fix your canvas on the wall ( metal part)?

      I should use more palette knives! I always enjoy working with them, but forget about them.
      For my painting wall I’ve screwed IKEA Ivar corner posts into the wall. Into the holes I add metal bolts from the hardware store. I can move the bolts around, which means I can hang my paintings an any height and move them around easily. I use these: www.wickes.co.uk/Wickes-Hexagonal-Set-Screws---M6-x-40mm-Pack-of-12/p/510828?gad_source=1&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI-4r-1frNhAMVG41QBh353wRmEAQYASABEgIV9fD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds&fbclid=PAAaa-6YVvzimoMxcwrQQJ647TVa2Dkz-q5_Etu-QNyimzrZ_JW37NMZfm8N4_aem_AUDo4xrYB4EVHKKewttIdJj2o8BARiyrz2j8YGk6p38wa6KWVYbauRFtSmw8eIjVf3g

    I love how strong-willed you are to fully commit to extended play. I start siezing up after about 2 layers.
    Thanks for sharing the opposites challenge. Im certainly gonna give it a whirl.

    I've kept some cheap make up brushes as well but haven't used them yet. This is my cue to try them😊

    Very interesting marks, especially the ones made with the paper ❤

      Thank you! Those paper marks are so unpredictable and can be very frustrating, but can also cause happy accidents.

    I love your intro song 🎶 it’s such a vibe. I ve been wanting to try full abstract painting but I struggle knowing if or when it’s good? Or how to arrange compositions . Ur videos really help!

      @jclosestudio  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Haha, thanks! I always do a little dance during editing that part 😄
      So glad my videos are helping you! I would start with looking at composition and value contrasts. Maybe this video explains it a bit better: th-cam.com/video/qZqvdmA9gKM/w-d-xo.html

      That makeup brush is great for blending and creating soft edges. And it holds a lot of paint. Try it!

      Very little paint on your brush and a damp surface helps.
